This Tribe In Ghana Is Possessed By Spirits! (

  • Ghana is a great country. But I didn't expect to spend my first few days in Accra running from people possessed by spirits! The Ga tribe has a celebration every year called the Twins' Festival, part of a longer series of celebrations in August. This festival celebrates twins, as you might imagine. But it turned out to be a bit more complicated than that. If you handle the experience well, you might even receive the Ga community's highest honor: a friend of twins.

Ignorance is thinking some spirits are protecting you when God by His Grace is protecting you, providing for you and caring for your life, hoping that you will come to the knowledge of the truth and receive eternal life.

@lorraine Trout Mask @Milkyas Takele @Derrick Dankyi- I'm a proud ghanaian and I believe in God, his grace and protection but before the doctorine of christ and Christianity was introduced to us by the colonial masters, the only thing our ancestors had and knew was these spirits and deities and yes even though we have accepted that God infact do exist that doesn't change the fact that this is our culture and there are still some of my people who still choose to uphold and continue these beliefs and traditions so they don't fade away with time and Throwing this away means Throwing away our history and a piece of ourselves. And everyone across the world has the right to believe in whatever or whoever they choose to believe in. These are the believes we were born into and we can't change that, we can only choose to be a part of it or not and that's just what it is

Do you know when we do our traditional rites and pour libation the first name that's good for due is the Almighty God? You need to learn more bro. Reminds me of my time in Togo in the early 2000s when I was a kid, I was a part of a similar ritual for mami wata where they all move to the sea and multiple people entering a trance like state. Quite the experience for a white kid from Sweden!
