Appreciate Video! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Renndrew Volleyball Victimless (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a great exclusive guide for uncovering the simple trick to master the piano without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend at very last got great success with it.
Since i got a job im praying that i can buy a piano and start practicing because i really love to play piano thank you for your videos been watching it everyday ☺
I actually did learn piano without a piano.. and when I got to the piano I did all perfectly and learned much faster.. try this guys! Its highly effective
I think you are a very nice person. it's very nice to watch your videos ... it's like a friend who already knows us and talks to us as a friend. Big hug from Brazil.
Many thanks as I was really feeling lonely without my instrument as it's gone for repair because of some technical issues ...I was just finding ways to practice without it...! And the notification came....thanks a lot...
Great timing - I'm a beginner and had to return my first keyboard (defective!) and now without a keyboard for a couple of weeks (awaiting delivery). I admit to withdrawal symptoms! Thanks Lisa
I used play in our keyboard a lot in my family house but since I moved out to college I extremely miss playing and I’m scared I would forget a lot of songs I learned🤧
Based on this lesson and another of the pianote channel (I don't remember which one), I have found the perfect exercise off-keyboard! I tap 16 beats with the left hand (1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2) and 8 beats with the right hand (1,-,2,-,3,-,4,-,5,-,4,-,3,-,2,-). I started at 10 rpm, 16/16 and it was already tough (I am a beginner). But I improved so quickly! Of course try to switch hands also (8 beats with left and 16 beats with right)
@Pianote Thanks for this! I took piano lessons decades ago in middle school and high school, and I still play today sometimes. I've lost a lot, though, and I'm trying to get back to, as closely as possible, the level I was at all those years ago (I was probably a high level intermediate player then; definitely more advanced than a beginner, but nowhere near as good as even many of my fellow "amateur" piano players). I have a long way to go, but exercises like these will allow me to improve even when I'm not near a piano. Wish I'd have thought of this years ago!
I do the sheet music technique. I study the sheet music on the reading rack on the treadmill. It makes it the time walking on the treadmill seems to be less.
Thank you so much, Lisa. Always enjoy watching your videos. Your teaching is so useful for a beginner like myself as you break it down to its basics. Thanks so much for helping many find their passion and being a star 🌟
Always wondered if you can maximise your time practising or learning a skill that requires a physical presence of instrument.. Turns out, you can still practise without one! 😄😄
You are an awesome and special piano tutor.. Your lessons are unique, interesting and useful.. you make learning to play piano a lot of fun by your special techniques and way of explanation
These are Actually GREAT lessons. THANK You. Even more ideas are better. It think its C. O. O. L. Caus I've done some of these lessons ta exercise My fingers and hands fer well over 30 ......welll meny more years then thet but Young Lady I Really RESPECT this.......caus much of how You train in piano lessons are all based on fun / fun weys ta learn and its CERTAINLY Rewarding when You git ah teacher....man er woman thet is so Gracious ta train People in such Fun weys. You are bringin life back ta the piano. Tho I will sey Much of the songs I like are the old British songs, old Mountain, songs, songs related ta the Old Tap dancing , I love the old yet RESPECTABLE music. Tho I've learned thet so meny people think old music means the 50s etc. It goes back much further in years fer Me. THANK You.
Thanks for this video!! Actually I am a professional piano college student, and the funny thing is, when I really want to practice my piano well something unexpected happens and I had to stop practicing:( like for today. However, when I am not motivated to do so, nothing unexpected happens, and I was still lazy to even practice. I am frustrated about how my attitude is to the piano. I really want to be more devoted into practicing the piano and mastering my pieces and be more passionate about music....this might be a good idea to practice without a piano when something unexpected happens, like for tdy~ I would really like to treat my piano as a friend/partner and practice it for my own musical development
I am supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (speechless) ! Haha ... I researched a lot to find this type of word Lisa is extremely amazing ! I have never met you but you are EXTRAORDINARY MIND BLOWING FANTASTIC PERSON, the best . I have became so much connected with you idk why
Lisa, that's easy for you to play on your forearm....you already have a Treble Clef permanently there on your right arm......:) When are you going that Bass Clef tat on the left forearm?
I have a question about the 500 songs in 5 days plan 1.So is there a tutorial for each song or is it just sheets ? 2. Is it like a per month thing or like forever ?
Hi Eva I'm so sorry this comment got caught up in a TH-cam filter, so I didn't see it! Here are your answers: 1. There is not a tutorial for every song. The lessons will teach you how to play CHORDS that you can use to play every song. Plus every song comes with a chord chart and lyrics! 2. It's yours forever. One payment and lifetime access. I hope that helps answer your questions, and again I'm so sorry it took so long to reply.
I got a simply piano ad after clicking on this vid and Im wondering if simply piano can actually teach piano? I really wanna learn but I cant afford a teacher and Im still stuck in quarantine. Any advice would be very much appreciated
As a member I'm always looking to see if the publicly available TH-cam videos are on the website so that I can watch them there and gain points towards my progress. I didn't find this one...is it there? Thanks! (Love being a Pianote member!)
Hi Dona!! Yes it's there :) All the TH-cam videos are released much earlier on the website - usually about a month earlier. This one is in the Quick Tips Section of Student Focus with the title: "How To Practice The Piano Away From The Piano". It was posted May 11th. (Sometimes we change the title for TH-cam) There are some good comments for this video, including a way to make random patterns to practice your finger independence :) Thanks so much for being a Pianote member!!!
I like having different viewpoints on how to get better at things i like doing and learning it keeps it fresh and interesting! I also like the idea of being able to practice without having the piano with me. Great lesson thanks! PS..In one of your videos can you tell us about your tattoo?
I am a multi-tasker. Is it bad to multi-task while practicing the piano? I have a habit of watching TH-cam videos while I practice. I feel like I am still getting better at the piano and learning. What should I do?
Well, any practice is better than no practice. But if you can commit 20 minutes a day to the piano without distractions I bet you'll see results even faster :)
l really like your videos they are really helpful, l hope once quarantine ends and my bussines resumes it's normal rythm, l can take your paid course, in the meantime l'd really appretiate if you can help me with some advise regarding my practice, l'm a begginer and l've reach an impass, it turns that reagarding long streched chords, my fingers are small and there are some chords for me that turns practice into torture like C7, thanks in advance if you can share some technique to overcome this challenge, best regards Enrique from El Salvador
Hi Enrique! I have small hands too! For 7th chords I love playing them in an inversion. So I take the top note (the 7th) and play it BELOW the root note. So a C7 chord would now be Bb-C-E-G. We have a writeup on it in this blog post: www.pianote.com/blog/small-hands/
Great ideas!! Have you heard of Joe Dispensa? Brain researcher...he did an experiment between groups who practiced with and without a piano. You would appreciate the outcomes.
I actually thought I could get away with a piano simulator android app boy was I wrong. I just didn't want to spend the money on a cheap 61 key keyboard I eventually found a company that makes a 88 key semi weighted digital piano for a really really good price. I got the Alesis recital 88-key digital piano it's only $299 for what you can spend on a cheap 61 key you may as well spend a little more to get a full 88
@@PianoteOfficial yes they primarily make great sound equipment. I found out of probably any other brand that makes digital piano's Alesis I find makes good quality as well as good priced digital pianos that are very affordable for beginners. The Standard Recital 88-key isn't the only low price model they have I seen that there concert 88-key for a hundred dollars more and I think they give a sustain pedal with it I think its just the cheap block style sustain pedal but hey for $399 cant complain about the price and I think the Recital 88 key Pro version is only $500 for a next step up.
Do you have any other tips for things you can do away from the keys? Let me know!

Just buy a cheap keyboard piano for $100 on eBay and you are set. Good Luck.
or get a used digital piano, one with a proper weighted action
How are you now, have you bought a piano?
I was the same as you and I have bought it😂
I appreciate this. Some of my students don’t have a piano to practice on.
This would help!
Thanks!

real quick.. I just wanted to mention my search was specifically with "no piano" and the fact I feel like I'm being talked into needing one is crazy.
What am I doing here I’ve been playing for 8 years xD
I almost never use a metronome but thnx to you I'll start using it at office for the sake of developing good habits

Yes 😁 Hello!!
I've always wanted to buy a piano but it's to expensive for me
The heck?
Ok I get it now
My dad took away my keyboard because I didn't get good marks in math, so this will help me A LOT

I actually uses piano games is that really a bad thing
Can you do a video on how to play piano without practicing 😅
Hey
I really want to play (springday by bts)
But i dont k ow how to handle my fingers
ty i was meant to be a piano student but i ended up being a percussionist
You can do this while you're sleeping!
Ok what if you have one hand and want to play
Use someone else's forearm? ;)
Just make sure it's someone you know.
Seriously you can also use your thigh as well!
👍🏽🔥👍🏽😊
Fun fact: A home is more expensive than a piano
