There are muscles that are connected to the pinky and ring finger. That’s why it’s difficult to move your ring finger independently. Pinky easier to move independently
I'm 22 and just started learning the piano all by myself without a teacher. This is such an amazing video, thank you so much! I hope to become really good at it. My curreny goal is to be able to play Fur Elise properly by the end of the year. God bless you, i hope you stay healthy and happy!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. You've set a worthy goal for yourself, and I hope I can help you achieve that goal. I wish you well in your musical journey.
I'm not a pianist, I'm a guitarist and these exercises have been very helpful to me. Some guitar teachers don't explain how to relax the fingers before playing. Thanks.
I'm glad you found the exercises helpful. When I made this video, it didn't occur to me that these exercises would be useful for guitarists as well as pianists. I've even had violinists and gamers use them!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Be careful not to overdo these exercises, and practice on a real piano or keyboard whenever possible. I wish you well in your musical journey!
Thank you for these great and helpful exercises. Especially on weeks of vacation when the piano is not close by, this can really help to keep that strength in the fingers!
Thank you so much 😊I’ve mentioned, that when I’m playing, my finders will not always be grounded on a keyboard, they are ‚flying‘ ,because of the luck of strength. I’ll make these exercises everyday and see, what happens 👍
This is so helpful! I could do this on a car ride or while watching a video. I can already think of lots of other different exercises you could do to have better finger coordination and strength! I also love the fact that you read and reply to every single comment, there are over 600 comments on this video and most channels won’t reply to any of their comments. Your amazing keep up the great work! 😁👍
Thank you for your kind words. The first thing I do every work day is read and respond to the comments. I place a high value on the feedback I receive. I hear the concerns my viewers have about learning piano and about music in general, and some of the comments give me ideas for future videos, as well as being a source of encouragement to me. When I started on TH-cam, it didn't occur to me that I would be older than most other "TH-camrs." I think my age may be a factor in my having so many adult beginners watching my videos. They know I've got some experience! I intend to continue creating videos until I can no longer do it. Thanks for watching. I wish you well in your musical journey.
Thank you! I started learning piano yesterday. Today I’m on break at work. I’ve already got the itch to play more, so this is helping a lot. Especially because my fingers could really use the extra strength. Yesterday my hands were getting a little sore 😂

I played flute for a few months as a kid, but my mom made me quit. Now, as an adult, I've been wanting to learn music to expand my hobbies, but I currently don't have the space or money for a piano. This is super helpful to give me something to casually work on while saving up for something :)

Very interesting...Many years ago I did a workshop with Greg Irwin and his Finger Fitness. Irwin overcame the dictum that he had to have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery and instead developed his Finger Fitness. I do them every morning religiously. I too play the piano. Another interesting thing. I have an older article from Etude magazine that someone actually observed the great Piano virtuoso and composer Franz Liszt doing weird finger exercises/movements etc and methinks Irwin also read the same article. Hah hah hah... The article actually shows, with illustrations the exercises Liszt did. Your video reminded me to pull out the article and combine it not only with your stuff but with Irwin and Liszt. Thanks for posting this. I've subscribed.
This is what i have been looking for 2 days. Such an amazing video. I am 29 and when i was 16 i played cello for a year other than that i have no music experience and i will learn to play piano on my own but i cant get to my piano for a month and i REALYY needed these exercises for my fingers. Amazing video for a beginner thank you

These are fun! I'm 64 and I started learning at age 8. Then I learned how to type when I was 11. I always knew the two were complementary as far as building my fine finger movement. This kind of explains why! Then I fell in love with Scott Joplin at age 14. Could have used these exercises back then! I'm going to share with my eight-year-old friend.
Thank you! I don't have a piano yet, but i wish to play an instrument and i hoped this exercise could make my learning journey easier once i do have the chance to get my own piano 😊 I know it can't beat playing on an actual keyboard, but it at least get me some exercise that can prepare me once i can practice!

I have to admit, I didn't think about these exercises as being helpful for fiddle players, but I'm glad to hear that they will help. I imagine they might benefit guitarists as well. Thank you for watching!
How amazingly Allah Almighty created the fingers of man! How beautifully we can move all our fingers with the brain at the same time. This is an indication of the infinite power of Almighty Allah! Praise be to Almighty Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! Do we spare 5 minutes of our 24 hours to thank Allah for these beauties?
I must admit, this did not occur to me when I made this video, since I don't really play guitar! However, now I can see how these exercises would help.
@@athomewithmusic8698 I am a lifelong guitarist but a relatively new piano player, and I think training my hands to work independently from one another instead of in sync as you do with the guitar is going to be difficult for me. But maybe not! Thanks for the reply ☺️

You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Thank-you very much, helpful for fiddle as well ☺
I have to admit, I didn't think about these exercises as being helpful for fiddle players, but I'm glad to hear that they will help. I imagine they might benefit guitarists as well. Thank you for watching!
I do kind of those exercises and I think they help.
These exercises certainly do help. I still use them when I can't get to a piano.
I thank God every day for the gift of music.
Thanks for the best knowledge, without, piano
You are welcome!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You are so welcome!
These will be useful for guitar as well
I must admit, this did not occur to me when I made this video, since I don't really play guitar!
