You're assuming a linear relation. But that's not how they degrade. After one half life 5 carbon atoms are gone. But after the second half life only 2.5 atoms will be gone.
i.e. the rate is decay is directly proportional to concentration. Which means the first atom will decay very fast and the last atom will take infinite time.
In that case 500yrs there will be full 10 c14 so this mummy was between 0 to 1146yrs.

6.43 there is exponential curve right ,but actual exponential curve doesnt go to zero easily .It will take almost infinite time for a complete decay .5730 years for half,5730+5730 years to become quarter..5730+5730+5730 years for 1/8th and it will keep on going like this ..it will approach to zero .. but will never become zero practically .

LMES, I have a doubt. As you said, C14 will continue to remain in our body but won't it behave the same way as other carbon and gets released into the atmosphere as CO2 back again? Suppose I have only one C14(hypothetical), what if it gets released into the atmosphere as CO2 and what if I die when I don't have any C14? Is still this method of analysis possible?
