    Now this is a great video, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll find screws you never even knew were there...
    And in the end the hot will be hot, and the cold will be cold!

    Had this issue for about three years. I came across this video by accident and decided to give it a try. Dealer charged $68.00 for the actuator but it was well worth it. It worked perfectly. Thanks for posting it was a lot of help.

    Thanks for this video. My wife's car is a 2007 Rondo, so probably very similar design. Today I noticed the control for which position to direct the air is working, but I can hear clicking, like plastic gear noise, so I might need to replace 1 of those actuators, if it ever breaks. With all of the air bags in that car, I think I would feel safer if I disconnect the battery while poking around in that area. Those plastic pry tools are a very good addition to a do-it-yourself person's collection of tools.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together. My wife's van is doing the same thing and the winter is coming. You are going to make me look good when I replace it for her! One quick question....why does Amazon tell me that the part number you used doesn't fit my vehicle? My wife has a 2008 Hyundai Entourage. Same vehicle. I can't seem to find anything that says it fits her vehicle. Except OEM Hyundai.

    So I just installed this part. My passenger side was ice cold and driver's side was functionality sound. After I installed the new part the passenger side is luke warm when on High temp and it doesn't blow as hard as the driver's side now. When comparing the sides to each other the driver's side is twice as hot. I've double checked my work and I think the module is not pushing the rod up all the way. How do I calibrate the module? I've tried removing it and reinstalling it as well as turning the gray piece manually with the module off but it won't turn without a lot of force and I don't want to break it. Any help is appreciated!

    • @joshbarton
      @joshbarton 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott L yeah I did that and it definitely moves up and down but when I moved the rod manually it was equally as hot as the driver side and it appears there is still quite a bit of travel left on the gray piece when it's on high temperature.

    • @DBLG65
      @DBLG65 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Torontovsky_odesit The drivers side is much easier to get to. If I remember correctly it's on the right side of the steering wheel, that's if your sitting in the driver's seat. You'll have to lay on your back and wiggle your arm to reach the door actuator. A bright light and a magnetic phillips screw driver is a must. I lost 2 of the 3 screws. I'd test it out before I reinstall the new one. On a sidebar, when I took the old actuator down, I applied a little gear grease to it and it started working. Make sure you put some in the new one. Good luck. 👍🏽

      There is no heating element in the sense of there being individualized electric units in this van. There is a heater core that allows hot coolant to transfer through it and air is blown across it through the ducts. If you get heat on one side the heating system itself is working just fine it's a matter of air flow control.

      @@scottlove1609 ,, On my Kia sportage 2007. blend temp door (shown in this video) is on the passenger side. Defrost/foot/dash actuator "motor" is on the driver side. look up to the right of the gas pedal. there is a small motor with a connector, mounted on top of a "white cog" wheel. the wheel rotates and moves 3 levers for desired airflow. 3 screws hold the motor (one of which you need a small 90degree offset philips) to remove, otherwise more vents will be removed and i did not do that. purchased my part from rockauto.. check my model of kia on their site to see what i bought.
