    This is just fantastic. The World Champion makes himself available to ordinary players. He was also very generous in his comments. Hard to understand why there would be any Magnus haters still around.

The pure proof that being a World Champion is essential to being superior to your league and yourself shows the necessity of having a world champion within every small part of the compeition.. That's why we love this game so much. It is so much different to seeing Roger Federer playing a hobby tennis player.

    By far one of the best instructional chess video I have ever seen and too from world champion Magnus Carlson ! He revealed his calculation powers very beautifully. To a 1400 rated player like me it was a huge help.

    24:29 is my favorite game of the Banter Blitzes. Opponent plays one questionable move in the opening and gets totally demolished, finishing by being mated with almost all of his pieces still on the board.

    • @EGarrett01
      @EGarrett01 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And according to Houdini there is in fact a mate without having to take any of his other pieces. Starts at 30:28. ...Rxf4, Nxf4, Nh2+, Ke3, Bd4#.

    • @ujokey

      Because of Nd5 blocking the diagonal as well as saving the Knight

    At 35:00 isn‘t Nh2+ Ke3 Bd4+ Nxe4 Qxf4# forced mate? I think you can even switch Bd4 and Qf4 for an even prettier mate.
    What am I missing?

    Whenever Chess24 has a high profile guest streamer like Magnus, or recently Sasha Grischuk, they seem to struggle with the interface, in particular with viewing the list of challenges and then selecting one. I hope you will have a software update soon that will simplify this aspect of streaming on your site.

      They have the same tech deficit with their app, so room for improvement in the software department. I guess tech Jan doesn't code.
