Thank you kind stranger :)
Thanks dude ✌
"If your opponent is on the wrong path, let him continue ruin his position."
buk Magnus, from this video
@@pthfndr6599 cool quote

38:37 “I think I just showed complete lack of understanding of chess” If magnus doesn’t understand chess then I don’t understand life
"take the queen, take the rook, take the bishop ,, I will not make fun of you again Lawrence,, heheeh" hilarious! (24:16)
a 2000+ player looked like a 1300 against Magnus. Damn. That queen and rook trap was crazy.
@@auroraofstars @17:20
I've trapped a decent number of queens against players aren't 2000+. It happens surprisingly often in lines of the Smith-Morra Gambit where it's pretty easy for black to go horribly wrong.
And then he performed a magic trick against Lawrence Trent and made all his pieces disappear in a flash.
@@12jswilson Yeah the kf3 check against Lawrence was killer...
That guy was just playing horribly for a 2000. Maybe his tactics give him 2000 but his positional play was extremely poor and the positional errors he made gave me some anxiety lol
He's the only player I've seen on stream that is genuinely disappointed when a skilled opponent makes a mistake that allows him to win. This says everything about why he's the best player in the world.
Absolutely
red_array if I’m playing a really tough game with me and my opponents going back and forth in a tactical battle and he suddenly makes a game losing blunder that has disappointed me in the past also . I hate blunders when they ruin otherwise great games .
@@humanbeing1075 I'd wager he'd feel the exact same way if Fabiano popped up and challenged him in banter blitz and then made a blunder that ruined a great game. Now I will grant that obviously Magnus wouldn't be immediately heartbroken if Fabi made a blunder in the world championship. The stakes are too high to care in that situation.
My point is that he wants his opponents to play their absolute best because ultimately this makes him that much better.
Except when its Lawrence Trent making the mistake
@@Strikerfm1 not me. I look at it like I have given my opponent too many problems to solve over the board. Especially if it is is an important game. The next blunder could well be mine.
what a world we live in where we sit in the house with the world champion and listen to his brain telling us all his secrets and plans
Never all.
Just imagine, January 1916 banter rapid match between Capablanca and Lasker!
And there are cars, airplanes, refrigerators... What a time to live!
@@T.R.U.T.H.. llllllllll
absolutely hilarious to see magnus just dominate 2000 rated players and call out each move explaining how he is about to destroy them
Something really amazing of Magnus is that he treats everyone the same way, and wonders about how interesting a movement is regardless it's a 1300 or 2800 player.
1:02:50 "They don't even teach this in grandmaster school" LMAO
49:36 Qxf7+
I checked the comments to see if anyone caught that too! lmaooo.
Check mate
@@Lifeissimplebro just check
@@hotchilly1122 It loses the queen for black and leads to mate in 6. Surprised pikachu that Magnus missed this.
😭 yes and he literally had just said f7 is indefensible
Magnus always plays bad openings deliberately to avoid his World Championship prep!
Chris Rands You're right, but they're not necessarily 'bad openings' just uncommon and non-mainstream.
Mach1Airspace They’re not “bad”, but it’s important to realize that they are worse than theoretical openings, which are theoretical for good reason.
Alternamaton I think we’re on the same page.
38:39 LMAO Magnus is the most down to earth guy I've ever seen.
"Never moved, yet perfectly developed"
@18:37. The infamous Lawrence Trent matchup......
How in the world Magnus can remember all the tricks, in this beautiful chess game ,in different positions, and very fast too,
Is unbelievable........

At 49:43 looks like Magnus missed QxF7ch, K-H8 forced....then D4xQ
Did you work that out yourself or with your engine?
@@droceretik Pretty simple tactic to see actually. Magnus was probably thinking of more grandiose ideas, so the simpler ones escaped him in this instance.
@@droceretik No, I just spotted it, what's the big deal?
@@simon.jacobs.0709 Because my rating is too low to see relatively simple positions quickly and I was wondering if it required a program. Why so defensive?
Yeah)) Especially fun - he was attacking point F7 on previous move. What was his reason to change this way?))))
4:34 me every game
Multiple GMs, FMs & IMs. Mowed them all down. The Fischer of our times.
You probably mean GMs, FMs & IMs (without apostrophes.) Apostrophes are never used for plurals.
Xavier Yates You’re right. I’ll edit those out. Hold my chess board.
37:06 "so you know what? enough of all these chess players, im gonna play a lawyer" icant 😂
"if you year of birth is higher than your rating, then you may be a patzer"... lol
Oh no
Thanks for yet another great video!
Thank you, Magnus, for such exemplary games and commentary. Has anyone ever had an online blitz rating of 3440 before?
I dont think so
This is the best banter blitz for Magnus so far, it is so explanatory !!! Just wow
43:09 He is not gonna be able to prove that b6 is a good move in a court of law. Epic Magnus. Witty and Bitingly sarcastic 🤣🤣🤣
49:32 is that not checkmate if Magnus would have gone queen F7 or am I missing something???
Magnus looking fly af
Great show, perfect, thank you from Madrid.
Ok, so the whole point of getting premium account is that you can sit back and watch Magnus play other gms.
"Let's play like Laurence Trent" says Magnus.
3:00 GIRIDRAW

Carlsen fainted in fear😁😁
49:26 The world champion miseed an easy win. I feel good about my blunders already. LOL
Seriously. Qxf7 check, next move Rxe5
Sir you are super brilliant👍😎

The beauty of chess is it can be whatever you want it to be. It transcends language, age, race, religion, politics, gender, and socioeconomic background. Whatever your circumstances, anyone can enjoy a good fight to the death over the chess board.
It transcends politics? Yet Iranis aren't allowed to play against Jews, so your statement is full of shit
There's a board game called SHŌBU I found at Barnes and Noble. Kinda gives chess a run for its money. watch?v=PN5899RUzVk

after winning every game,
Magnus: I am not happy with the way I am playing now 😁
Only with magnus all grandmasters look like beginners. We ll know their skill only if we play with them. what a magnificient player magnus.
Looking forward for some competition from Alireza and Diren
1:17:52 e5 and Na5 what is the next? Or just Qh5#
How does he capture so quick?! I cant even move my fingers that fast. Its one thing to premove, but to execute a capture fest as quick as he does is wild.
At 1:28:13, after flagging his opponent, Magnus says, in slightly different words, what Marlo from The Wire says: "You want it to be one way...but it's the other way."
1:18:21 -- it seemed bad, but not fatal. Black king moves to D7 to avoid the fork.
Beast Game with lawrence
Thanks Magnus.
@chess24 I dont find the interface of the website very appealing especially regarding ongoing tourneys, I think less important tourneys should be put on the side so we can see easier the major ones, there is a lot of info on frontpage and in general, its quite confusing, mybe try feng shui system keep it simple also There should be an incentive to go on the site, im not sure what it is other than the banter blitz serie with lefong magnus etc which I love to watch on ytb, I m european so ill go on the site to support, if and only if it matches simplicity and intuitiv interface of other chess sites
ty magnus
At 49:26 Why didn't he play QxF7+ followed by pawn takes queen on E5?
Mister Jean Claude Dus mdrrr il m'a tué
no one:
not even your mom:
*carlsen casually destroying gm*
He looks like Jakob Ingebrigtsen without a beard lol :D
Thank you, Champion!
Folks when you post a stream on TH-cam: edit the start screen down to 3 seconds. This is for everyone.
Magnus, det er forbudt å bruke hytta
Dude you are the "Man"!
Woa, ha ganado todas macho !! :D
Corona confirmed. Sorry Magnus
I think Lawrence Trent uses a engine
I tend to agree as great moves for 90% of the game but when he has to speed up, his play deteriorates, probably due to the difficulty of engines making ultra-quick calculations, net speed and he then has to take over the play. Laurence is a good player and he may be playing honestly. That happens a lot with Magnus and players playing way above their real rating. He never directly accuses players of cheating but he makes cryptic comments such as "they were playing very, very well, that's for sure and well above their apparent rating." The only way to ensure fair play is OTB. There were a couple of incidents of the use of transmitters and outside assistance. Before 1970 it was hardly ever a problem.
Let's play silly openings and win the end game. Magnus strategy on banter blitz
Carlsen looks like a vampire diaries character 😂
Pobre Pepe: my body still hurts lol
LOL
Çıkar gölgesinde rakı içelim kral.
"That game was utter rubbish, not worthy of grandmasters."
Thank you, Grandmaster Magnus, for playing some games for us and/or withs us!
49:33 is Qxf7+ instantly winning?
Am i missing something?
No, he missed it.
at 49:29 why not qxf7 followed by dxe5?
At 49:26 didn't Carlsen miss Qxf7+, Kh8, dxe5, Bxe5, Rxe5?
Isn't at 49.30 Qf7+ and dxe5 just a clean queen for a pawn?
I have a question, do the players in the candidates tournament reserve their best openings and novelties in order to reserve them for a possible wc match?
Not at all, quite the opposite.
They give the candidates their all because even getting to a wc match is already a huge success that very few can pull off
That makes sense. However wouldn't this give the incumbent champion an inbuilt advantage?
@@juvenalredivius1077 yes, it certainly does but no game is 100% fair after all
@@Tobi-pn2xs Notmabot whether its fair or not. Magnus gets to use all of his novelties and studying all of the challenger's novelties and preparation. Surely this is an advantage.
49:50 - Qf7+ end then de)) Magnus missed easy win and got equal ending ))))
Fun chess fact: the game is a microcosmic representation of a feudal estate alotment with signifying squares as plots of land. The bichrome scheme of black and white reflects dualistic medieval beliefs of parody in the battle of good and evil.
All the pieces reflect there contemporaneous advent. For instance pawns (peons or peasants) march forwards yet attack diagonally reminiscent of an Anglo Saxon styled shield wall where each respective participants to sought to protect adjacent units by attacking in like manner.
Knights, amd their famed operative L shaped moves are representative of cavalry flanking maneuvers where horsemen would advance before pivoting thus striking horizontally on the flank of the beleaguered foe.

@@T.R.U.T.H.. Yes it is. Thank you. In return I'll tell your remedial ass what it means. Deal? Lololol
At 49:26 did he miss qxf7? Or am I missing something
whats with that glowing arm strangling magnus at 6:15 ?
Can anyone say that why Carlsen did not take with the Rook on vdo min. 49:31
Yeah, "set a reminder" worked just great! :(
What a bunch of crap, good thing I don't rely on TH-cam for wake up calls.
thank god for the normal board
I miss the soccer board :-(
John Davis I found it so hard to see the pieces lol
Lucas Di Nicol Antonio sir magnus hahaha
Ser en hyttevegg i bakgrunnen, Magnus. ai ai ai!
45:43 what happened that day to them?
Magnus, at 49:27, why can't white play Qxf7+ and then d4xQe5 -- winning right away ?
He cannot win a piece, after Bxh2+ he loses the Queen
@@pablog8670 Pablo, where Magnus played Qe8xQe5 -- instead of white playing Queen takes Queen -- why can't Magnus play Qxf7+ ?
i don't know what's going on here but i can tell this guy is a genius
No. He just worked harder than everyone else!
Moment, when Magnus blundered:
take the queen take the rook take the bishop
49:34 Qxf7+ and then taking the queen has to win
Love when Magnus coughed and then tried to indirectly say he doesn't have Coronavirus
Amazing games. What I like is that even Magnus is human and misses some moves (like when the queen takes his bishop in the father gascoine game ) he could check and win the queen :)
why not Qxf7 at 49:30?
49:35 why not Qxf7+? Then Kh8 dxe5
49:28 missed Qf7+ Kh8, dxe6 wins
49:32 didn't he have Qxf7 then dxe5? Or am I tripping
I saw the same thing and can't figure it out
He did have that; he just missed it. It happens to everyone
I must be blind or something...but how does Qb4 check at 1:10:23 not win a piece?
Then they can just go Nd2. or am I wrong (probably)
@@potatomasterpewdsarmy217 yep! I"m blind :)
49:27 so why not Qf7 + ?
Hey Candidates 2020! 1989 called and wants their cruise ship sweepstakes getaway ad back.
Higher than the roof
Ayeee he shaved the beard
He must have gotten tired of us calling him "homeless Thor"
Shane Wilson 😂😂 I contributed to that
49,29 mn Qf7
Where is Magnus’ rating on the screen. Why is it not shown?
Cameron T over 4,000
At 1:05:48 he misses mate in 2 (Qe1+)
I love when Magnus, with an overwhelming material and positional advantage, begins to subtly panic as he starts to run out of time in these 3 minute games. Geniuses don't panic like normal people do...
