This is such a fascinating video. Magnus has such a vivid description when he analyzes things--not just his chess. Here, he describes his process of playing with one of his senses impeded and connects it so naturally to other experiences. I think I'm just fanboy-ing here, but it's like when he talks he shows you all the nodes in the web that's his brain: How he thinks in a way that connects things to each other. It makes sense that grandmasters think like this when they're constantly remembering past games.
this is so fun!! i wish this was like a series or something. magnus has the teaching vibe in him too so i can see it being good in videos where you just play and comment on what you do just like you did here and both you and us all learn from this. but regardless this being fun and chill was great, genuinely! something that felt a bit off were when you spoke of him in third person in front of him but hopefully that was just a thing that happened because of anxiety for meeting someone you admire, otherwise its just meh - dehumanizing. anyway, hope there will be more of these will magnus soon! :)

I love this video, you never get to see the worlds best in basically anything act so casually and just be a super normal person. Obviously they are all normal people but you never get to see it like this. Maybe that’s not quite true either bc professionals have been making appearances in TH-cam videos for a long time, but I just love seeing this side of a the master of their art
I guess more specifically if anyone cares to read of all this gibberish, it’s the way we get to see him explain his thinking. This is a very chess thing in general you see a lot of the greats streaming or making TH-cam videos and it’s just so interesting to peak into how they view the game.
