@@pablorivadeneyra1105if you fo check it out, make sure to listen to both of its versions in order! There are videos on youtube with the two versions one after the other in order.
" The Sun Rises " Reference to you character. In the game, you are playing Amaterasu, Goddess of the sun, so she is the rising sun. That theme play during the final battle so it's kinda iconic that the boss theme is not about the boss but YOU ^^
Yami's theme plays in the first half of the battle, as he steals Amaterasu's powers, weakening her. Once she receives the prayers of all those she has helped through her journeys, the tables turn. Yami is now the one saying "Why do I hear boss music?" Beautiful scene.
Also, bear in mind Yami, the name of the final boss, means "darkness" in Japanese. What's the best weapon against darkness to ever exist on Earth? Yup: the sun. Literally.
Fun fact about the wolf Amaterasu, she is in fact an avatar for her Goddess self who uses her power from the celestial realm through her wolf form by painting on a scroll. We as the player take the role of the Goddess by drawing on the scroll to attack and controlling the wolf Amaterasu.
I was overwhelmed with joy when they announced the new Okami sequel. Just hearing the theme in this video makes me a little teary-eyed! 😭❤ If you do react to any more songs from the OST, some that I think you should take into consideration are: -Dragon Palace -Kushi's Ride -Ryoshima Coast (I or II)
In the game you play as Amaterasu, the Goddess of the sun, who comes to the mortal realm to save people from a curse that is spreading, and bring them hope. The human characters are none the wiser, they just see you as a common wolf, and the more you help them through the story the more hope they give, and the more powerful you become. This song plays at the last boss of the game and symbolizes Amaterasu getting at her full power.
I hope more people react to different songs in the Okami OST bc they need all the attention plus hoping the OG soundtrack artist returns to make new music for the sequel 😄
Oh yes, this game takes sooooo many Japanese stories and mushes them into one completely awesome game that (I hope) you will love from start to finish. And the comments about being artistic? Oh, just wait until you begin playing. I adore the style and visuals of the game, and I hope they are also to your liking. If I may be so bold as to suggest - given that we are talking about artistic games - any track from Chicory A Colorful Tale; just pick anything, really, though things in the second half of the OST heavily rely on leitmotifs from the first part. The whole soundtrack has fantastic use of leitmotifs, really. Personally, starting with Blank Canvas, A Colorful Tale, or Sips River seems best for an introduction. Lena Raine (composer for Celeste) did the music, and I adored every second, from the first note to the fade out of the last.
fun fact!! theres actually a WHOLE score of okami piano arrangements of various themes in the game you can print out and try and play yourself as well as a CD and recorded tracks! I spent my youthful 10-14 year old days stretching my small hands and ability to play those pieces and they are beautiful with great takes on the game's OG sound track!!!
_Ryoshima Coast_ is one of my favorite themes from this game, along with _Thank You_ and its counterpart, _Thank You (Reset)._
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm gonna check it out 🙌🏻
