hello, love your work have you considered reacting to any of the themes for the monsterverse movies? i know it's not video games music but i think that there's some interesting bits you could react to there
highly reccomend Shinshu Field theme if this video does well. Also okami. I run thought that area and makes me feel like I'm making progress to something great when really I'm just running around
The character you play as in Okami is actually the goddess of the sun Amaterasu, so the name of the track, The Sun Rises, actually has a nice double meaning there. As you said it is very uplifting and hopeful for the future, but it also alludes to Amaterasu reawakening to her power. The track perfectly represents how Amaterasu inspires hope in the people that believe in her, and how she guides them to a brighter tomorrow.
The Sun Rises, for all intents and purposes, is a victory lap. You fight the ultimate evil and bounce back full-force from rock-bottom. It's thoroughly empowering and incredibly hopeful, what a rush. The ultimate evil can be defeated, and everyone has placed their faith in you.
Oh the absolute joyous grin that spread across my face seeing this in my recommended, Okami has a very dear place in my heart, so happy to see it still getting recognition almost 20 years after its release
Man, I was subbed to this channel since the beginning of this year but haven't checked on it for a while... I can't describe how happy I was when I saw this in my recommended!
The opening flute part is a leitmotif that has been scattered through the game. The second it reaches the players' ears, they know that this is the track that the entire game has been building towards. And then there's a whole intro section that continuously builds towards hearing the glorious melody in full.
The game okami and its soundtrack are the two things that singehandedly made me enraptured by Japanese culture and its traditional music. On the surface it's such a silly concept but the moment you first get to hear the soothing, traditional flutes when the camera pans over the sakura coloured village, it just sucks you into this magical traditional folktale, it's amazing.
For me, it was running around the purified Shinshu Field for the first time. The game really opening up and letting you go, the sweeping music, the sense of speed and motion as you sprint with the trails of flowers behind you. It's exhilarating.
Yeah this is pretty much Okami's equivalent to Proof of a Hero. It involves some leitmotifs strewn across the game. Very notable though, and of course easy to miss if you haven't heard more of the soundtrack, is how right-out-the-gate *intense* this track is compared to most others in the game. It's unceasing harmonious noise underneath serene and evocatively positive melodies, as if trying to reflect the overwhelming splendour of the sun.
Man, this is one of my favorite themes in the game, but now I just wanna hear your analysis of my *favorite* track from Okami: "Reset - Thank You" Just hearing the beginning of that song is enough to make me cry and want desperately to replay that game for the first time. Okami is such a wonderful and beautiful experience. Please do play it. Knowing especially that you're a Zelda fan: You will not regret it.
I don't think there's a piece out there that expresses "Thank You" in such a beautiful way. It just scream sincere gratitude in the best ways possible.
Can't stress enough just how absolutely saddened I was when I finnished the remaster, just to find reset missing. It took so much out of the feeling of the ending, and I had to immidiatly pull the song up on youtube. Just wasn't the same without it.
songs that make you feel like a god - not in the sense of having limitless power but in the sense of having infinite benevolence. it's a brighter future because -you're the sun.-
Without spoiling much, just in case you decide to play Okami, this song is not necessarily "the main theme." The game features the melody of this song as leit motifs in various points throughout the game, and it's also a song that's used to represent the game both in Monster Hunter Rise _and_ in Marvel vs Capcom 3 (being Amaterasu's theme), but this is actually the music for a boss fight, and an incredibly important fight to the story at that, which is probably why there were those feelings of tension in the song. Very beautiful piece, one of my favorite pieces of music from any video game.
Yes, it's the theme to a boss fight. And AMATERASU is the boss. You know that meme where the bad guy suddenly wonders why he hears boss music? THIS is that meme. Yami is the bad guy, and AMMY is his hopeless boss fight.
What absolutely blows me away is that The Sun Rises IS Amaterasu's theme. You only hear bits and pieces of the melody in passing throughout the whole game, they hold it back until the very last moment of gameplay, when you've come back from absolute zero and are kicking full ass with the support of everybody you've met behind you (not to mention the spirits you've helped aiding you in battle directly). It's absolutely brilliant and mind-blowingly empowering, and for me this moment makes the entire game so much more worth the effort than it was (and it is absolutely worth the time of any gamer who likes RPGs, particularly Zelda games). It's not every game you get teased with your own theme until the moment you're at your most powerful. The sequence before this too, Reset, is absolutely moving in such an insanely emotive way, and it leading directly into this makes The Sun Rises one of the only video game themes that gives me goosebumps and moves me to tears every time
Okami’s entire victory lap sequence was the first time a video game made me cry as a kid. This song was half the reason why, and I think you all know what the other half was.
The Sun Rises might be the song that plays during the final fight, but it's not Yami's theme. It's YOUR theme, Amaterasu's theme! Yami thinks he has you down, then starts hearing boss music.
Oh, what an unexpected song choice. And a pleasant surprise! I love Okami, it's a masterpiece. It's a great "running" song for me. It feels like it incorporates Amaterasu's (the wolf) running rythm as the beat. I can always perfectly picture her sprinting along to it, gaining speed the longer she goes.
It's funny, I actually wondered if this would ever pop up here. I have never played this game, sadly, but I remember hearing this song and immediately falling in love with it. It's such a positive and motivational tune.
traces of this song are present in almost every other soundtrack in the game. this is the song that plays during the final stage of the final boss in the entire game, where Okami Amaterasu regains her full power. in Okami, you play as the incarnation of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. and there is a certain line that you see over and over again, and is said by almost every major character in the game: "Ah, Amaterasu...origin of all that is good and mother to us all..." it really puts that line into perspective. she really is one with everything, and the game does a very good job subtly integrating that idea throughout your 50+ hour journey.
I appreciate you showing those chords with that swap of happy and sad and tense, it's cool to learn more about how music can work and how it can evoke emotions in that way. The Sun Rises is like this ultimate theme built off variations we get to hear throughout game, earliest as Sakuya's gentle and sorrowful theme who is the tree spirit we are working to empower to protect the land as we travel, then playfully when Ammy has to win a race which in itself was a little challenge where you had to really push yourself with what you knew to win. We also get to hear it briefly pumped up in the Victory Howl after a boss. Hearing it used in a way where we're practically wielding this song in the battle after everything we went through is a super empowering feeling!
I thought about you reviewing this song a few days ago. Okami is my favorite game of all time, and this song is my fave in the OST, so this was a pleasant surprise (I maybe had a little cry)
You definitely have to play Okami, the game is beautiful, the music it's a masterpiece, and the art, legends and history of Japan there are the best, you'll fall in love with the game, and "The Sun Rises" in the final boss battle, just perfect and epic
OKAMI is one of my favorite games I've ever played. The design of the game is so unique as it looks like you're in a Japanese painting that's coming to life before your eyes. It's just so beautiful and breathtaking all the while you learn about the mythology with each Celestial Brush technique you learn and the demons and bosses you fight. It's storyline is amazing, the combat is great, the characters are memorable, the backgrounds are gorgeous and music is BEAUTIFUL! So happy you enjoyed this song!
I can't believe you are doing Okami, one of my favourite games of all time - and it reached that spot because of the absolute breathtaking music. Thank you so much! If you want some suggestions, I can strongly recommend "Kurow loses faith" from its sequel, Okamiden.
Without spoilers, okami is one of those games that the ending changed everything, it went to be a funny and ok game till you consider the ending and becomes something amazing and unique
I got Ōkami as part of deal for a used Wii system that had SA2 Sonic Adventure 2 Battle in 2009 I didn't regret branching out a little bit and playing it ♥️. It was there for me in a very dark part of my life. I started crying seeing that you posted this.
I have so much love for this game, through my childhood, teen, and adult years every time I play it... god the music still gets me, its a wonderful game AND experience. It means a lot to me to see your appreciation for this track, genuinely is the most hopeful and has such a fitting name for it
oh, thank you!! i just love Okami, i grew up on it, and to see you listen and analyse The Sun Rises is just the best! im glad that Okami is still getting a bit of limelight. anyways, the song is about the main character, Amaterasu. she is the sun goddess, though she's restricted to a wolf form as you play the game. she's seen as the mother of all other gods, and so I think thats where the warm support comes in. this song plays during the final boss fight against Yami. he takes Ammy's power and as she is moments from death, her Celestial Envoy, Issun, spreads her image and, as a result, everyone you had met were praying to her. and like. THAT FUCKED ME UP MAN I FUCKING SOBBED. the prayers give her her powers back, and so she is returned to her finest form; the wolf they called Shiranui that could also point to the happy, positive, hopeful sound comes from. you have made a comeback. youre playing the sun goddess who is defeating the lord of darkness. you are the one saving the people of Nippon and you are going to win. and i think that's exactly what the music is showing you.
Every time I see this song pop somewhere, I'm thinking "eh, it's not that good but anyway..." and in the end, it makes me feel a rush of positive emotions, I can't think of it as anything else but one of my favourite songs in video games! It just feels great. Inspiring! And it sures makes you want to feel like the main character, running within the plains, protecting the world!
Okami is the game on which I spent my oral baccalaureate at the end of the year (I am French), it is a game that I discovered a long time ago but it inspired me so much, that today I cannot forget it. This game made me draw, evolve and appreciate Japanese art.. I would never thank capcom for making a collaboration between two games that I love and that made me grow.. Today, the music of Okami still have as much impact on me.
Honestly if you have the time, you should definitely play Okami! IT may be a bit old, but thanks to art style andthe uniqueness with the brush techniques, it still hold up VERY well imo by today's standards. And there is so much good music in there too, especially as I feel we rarely get such a japan-inspired soundtrack here in the west.
Okami is a cult classic. The art style and music are so beautiful and it still age so well. If you like 3D Zelda game, then I recommand it a lot. It's so good. Also the game have a lot of side content. PS: if you have a Switch, the game is often in sale at a really cheap price. 😁
Thank you for covering this! Okami is one of my favorite games and the moment in which this track plays is one of the most memorable in all of gaming for me!
One of my all time favourite games, I'd love for you to listen to more of them like True Strength, Battle of Orochi, Battle of Twin Demons, if you want more examples of this beautiful music style. Or just to get tempted into playing it which I wholely recommend
Yeah, True Strength and Brave Warrior Oki will never get old for me. Every time I hear The Sun Rises or Brave Warrior Oki, I want to bawl my eyes out and fight God at the same time
Great video as always! Okami is a really amazing game and this piece is truly epic! It’s full of hope. Every time l hear this piece, my whole being is shaken. It feels like a spiritual wind blowing through me and the light of the divine sun shining on me. This piece and Proof of a Hero are my morale boosters! Thank you for this, Davi!
yOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAVI DIDN'T KNOW YOU REACTED TO THIS, it's my favorite song from Okami. I mean, Okami have MANY great songs, MANY. But this one it's just personal favorite and I'm glad you reacted to it~ !
Even through the darkest times, the sun shall rise again. Okami is a retelling of the legend of Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Sun. The legend itself is, more or less, an ancient interpretation of the events of the Solar Eclipse. And the theme The Sun Rises is the embodiment of the literal struggle of the Sun to shine through the Darkest Day, carrying all the hopes of the world through the deepest of despair. The saying "light shines most brightly in the dark" is an apt description of both the story and this theme.
Õkami is definitly a masterpiece of game, art style and music begin incredible, amazing and hopeful story that duelves in a lot of japanese Mythology, that if you know about makes the game even more amazing, and cool gameplay mechanics that while not the best for its original release on Playstation, did incredible well on the nintendo Wii, which I'll say its the best version to play and would be my recommendation, I do have the pc port who is not so bad either and I would say the second best choice to properly enjoy the gameplay since drawing the spells on a controller is a nightmare, and why it didnt do so well originally. To this day its still the only game which I got all achievements because of how much I love it, XD
Truly a masterpiece. I can't describe what an amazing experience this entire game was and the music definitely played a huge part. was my favorite game more than 10 years ago and still is today :') So many good tracks to analyze!!
Omg, I discovered your channel for Undertale songs, but I never thought you were gonna react to Okami Music! It's one of my favorite games, and its entire soundtrack is a masterpiece
I got here through your Undertale react videos and had the thought that it would be so cool if you had any Okami videos. So happy to see that you did! Okami has a wonderful soundtrack and this is one of my favorite tracks on it.
Hi Davi. Absolutely love your videos! I wanted to suggest something to you, as I really feel it’s missing from your format: Havning a short final summary/commentary on the piece as a whole. I’m sure you have your reasons for not doing it, but I just feel like it’s really missing from the outro and your review as a whole. Love the way you go through each piece and I just want more of it! :-) Kind regards and keep up the good work!
Davi, my man, I have a song for you to hear, but first I have to say I love hearing your take on these themes because they really help me appreciate the technicality and the thought put into these songs. Especially when you know nothing about the game, but are able to extrapolate the meaning of the moment it's played just by ear, because the composer put that much thought into it. My kudos out of the way, I really really really think any lover of video game music or even just classical music in general needs to hear God Shattering Star from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It's an absolute beast of a song that absolutely shatters your star when you first hear it. I would love to hear your take on some others from the series, like Don't Speak Her Name from FE: Awakening, and Twilight of the Gods from FE: Echoes, but if no other song, God Shattering Star.
Okami is my absolute favorite game of all time. And I love the music so much. I'm so glad you picked it! I would highly suggest: Reset ~'Thank You' Version~ (The normal version has lyrics) Twin Devils Moshirechik and Kotanechik's Extermination Demon Lord Nine-Tail's Extermination The Emperor of Eternal Darkness Ushiwaka's Dance ~ Playing with Ushiwaka
Just hearing the soundtrack brought me an overwhelming sense of indescribable nostalgia; I played the heck out of this game when it came out on the PS2 and was the very first game I ever did a full completionist run over and over again. Personally, it's my favourite video game ever and a masterpiece on all fronts, and I love every single aspects of it. The soundtracks are all so glorious that you could only appreciate it truly when walking through the watercolour-brush environment of the game.... I truly truly love Okami, can't you tell? Thank you for covering this gem, and you should totally play Okami!
One of the best game I ever played and one of which who maked me the most. Incredible on all aspect, and it remains me of my dear father who gifted it to me. It really warms my heart that you give me an opportunity to listen to one of the song, and that you took interest in it :) One day I'll get the records... But their price is unreachable :(
Okami has one of my favorite soundtracks ever. Some other tracks I'd love to see you react to are Ryoshima Coast, Susano's Training/Susano's Real Power, and Waka's Theme.
I pass by my lil Okami painting hanging in my hallway everyday so seeing this in my recommended made my day. Definitely my favorite game of all time, it's so thematically strong and the story is so uplifting
Out of all the songs in Okami I did not expect this one. If I had asked for one, it would be Reset, or Reset ~Thank You Oh, and not only is it a Capcom game, it was a game by Clover studio which later became PlatinumGames. And I'm sure you know what other games they have made and what awesomeness many of those soundtracks are...
Yeah I like how contrary to a lot of tense battle themes, this one was bright and hopeful and happy. It feels great in the narrative too, as the world is basically behind you and praying for your success and your best friend is hyping them, and you, up, is wonderful.
I've always loved this song. It's always great to pump you up when you need it. P.S. I'm not the Lunar that suggested this but I nearly jumped when I heard that.
Great video as always davi keep up the work, also might i recommend taking a listen to slave knight gael from dark souls 3, truly an amazing track with an amazing presentation of emotions. Have a great day Davi
i'm so happy you're talking about such a masterpiece, easily in my top 3 games of my life for the soundtracks and the special graphics that are so beautiful. Okami really is a game full of good musics. You should also try some Genshin Impact ones (don't hit me pls they're some good musics in it even with the flaws this game has) like "Symphony of Boreal Wind", "Caelestinum Finale Termini" or "Termination of Desires" (this last one does have a weird moment in it but otherwise i find it rly good though a bit short). Anyway love your videos and keep up the good work ^^
Omg the title of this video made me want to watch this video because honestly I had seen some bits of it from my sister playing but then I heard THIS FIRE 🔥 MELODY and I knew I had to play it!
Him trying to analyze these tracks without context is great, but it would be fun if afterwards he was shown the context and reacted to that, seeing how accurate his ideas are. Like if he saw the context that this track plays for the second half of the final boss fight. the fist half having a dark and terrifying tone as you're nearly powerless from Yami's influence and on the verge of defeat before the prayers of the people empower you.
The Sun Rises, and Reset(with vocals and without) are two of my all time favorite songs in gaming. Nothing has hit the same since I played through Okami the first time.
One of the most powerful things about The Sun Rises is the contrast between it and the previous phase of the fight. I won't elaborate too much to minimize spoilers, futile as it may seem, but I love this.
This is probably my favorite track from the Okami soundtrack (and there are a lot of great tracks) -- this song plays at pretty much the climax/final boss of the game, when your character (the sun god Amaterasu) regains her full power-- the sun rises again! So yes, very uplifting and heroic as you're very excited to beat the game. :D
Fun fact! The title "Okami" is a pun! Yes, "okami" does mean "wolf", but in the game it's written with the characters for "great" and "god" which is read as.... "Okami"!
You nailed it on the melody being used in minigames. A shorter and simpler version of this theme is used in race minigames. Heck even a flashgame from back then based on such minigames used the same yet an even simpler melody.
It's epicness is exemplified by not only the journey it took to get to this point, but the near-defeat and then revival of Ammy after the first half of the boss fight, with everyone you met along the way pitching in to give you the spirit and energy to defeat the final boss. It's not just you vs the final boss, it's everyone vs the god of darkness.
Song request: Ezofuji Wawku Shrine. Its a very interesting song, also from Okami, you might find it intriguing. Loved this video, and would love to see more about Okami! Its a great game.
I just started the game three weeks ago. Took me a couple of hours to be in it but actually I must say that I am fully in the game and this is so cool !
You might what to listen to Susano's theme next, It could be interesting. Anyway, Okami is an exelent game that I highly recommand to all action aventure lovers
I didn't even realize MHR had a crossover with Okami (Probably cause I don't pay much attention to MH). I love that, Okami getting more love is nice. :)
They made an amazing Amaterasu costume for the Palamutes, the new dog allies added in the newest Monster Hunter. From the minute the dogs were shown I was praying for an Okami collab with an Ammy costume and I'm so glad they delivered!
In Japanese culture, the sun is the most precious thing and a symbol of hope. So I think that "the sun rises" means going from despair to hope. As a Japanese who loves this game, I thank you. Thank you for listening to this song.
Having finished a 100% recently of the HD version on PS5,yeah the theme name and when it plays is FULL of symbolism. I mean the world nearly ending AND also even if it didn’t,it likely would never have been “better” again. All that happens at the end gave hope to the world, the lost celestials and one of the last remaining members of the moon tribe

highly reccomend Shinshu Field theme if this video does well. Also okami. I run thought that area and makes me feel like I'm making progress to something great when really I'm just running around
Okami is not a game. It is a masterpiece.
An art
Whenever the topic of games as art comes up, this is the only game I think of.
Only Okami flaw: too easy.
Everything else: perfection.
This is truth. Objective truth.
Something that JoshScorcher cannot seem to relies
The character you play as in Okami is actually the goddess of the sun Amaterasu, so the name of the track, The Sun Rises, actually has a nice double meaning there. Everything is said here, after 16 years I always feel a lot of emotions listening to this track ♥
WHErwin in the comments no way
Superman type shit
You love to see it
WHERWIN THERE IS A SEQUEL COMING ISN'T THAT CRAZY?
The Sun Rises, for all intents and purposes, is a victory lap. You fight the ultimate evil and bounce back full-force from rock-bottom. It's thoroughly empowering and incredibly hopeful, what a rush. The ultimate evil can be defeated, and everyone has placed their faith in you.
It's Yami's "Wait, I hear boss music" moment.
Oh the absolute joyous grin that spread across my face seeing this in my recommended, Okami has a very dear place in my heart, so happy to see it still getting recognition almost 20 years after its release
Blows my mind that I still remember it so vividly after so many years. I was still a little kid when I first played it.
I completely agree. Okami is by far my favourite game and it is very close to me
Man, I was subbed to this channel since the beginning of this year but haven't checked on it for a while... I can't describe how happy I was when I saw this in my recommended!
Yeah, about that recognition...
Also, if you want _the best_ Okami fanfic, go read the Okami/Worm crossover, Constellations.

Dude, As of yesterday, there is confirmation that this game is getting a sequel.

Replying just so he sees this comment.

Okami is actully one of my three favorite ganes of all time, this song bring me so much joy
Same here!
oh dear god same. Night in the Woods will always be my favorite, but Okami ties with What Remains of Edith Finch for second
I legit cried during this part of the final boss. Such a great game!
Very true. It's like you can "see" this song if that makes any sense.
狼:Okami(English:wolf)

おおかみ:Okami

大神:Okami : (English : great god)
It's funny, I actually wondered if this would ever pop up here. I have never played this game, sadly, but I remember hearing this song and immediately falling in love with it. It's such a positive and motivational tune.
It’s back
The sun rises again
traces of this song are present in almost every other soundtrack in the game. this is the song that plays during the final stage of the final boss in the entire game, where Okami Amaterasu regains her full power. in Okami, you play as the incarnation of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. and there is a certain line that you see over and over again, and is said by almost every major character in the game:

My goodness... I had no idea you reacted to the music of my favorite game that I loved since 2007... This was very pleasant to watch!
The way i started crying as soon as the melody built up. I miss this game sm
I thought about you reviewing this song a few days ago. Okami is my favorite game of all time, and this song is my fave in the OST, so this was a pleasant surprise (I maybe had a little cry)
You definitely have to play Okami, the game is beautiful, the music it's a masterpiece, and the art, legends and history of Japan there are the best, you'll fall in love with the game, and "The Sun Rises" in the final boss battle, just perfect and epic
we won
I'm so happy
Okami is a masterpiece! It's very beautiful, and have an Outstanding soundtrack, too!
Coming back to this video after a sequel gets announced, I can't wait for all the beautiful new music we're going to get ❤
I can't believe you are doing Okami, one of my favourite games of all time - and it reached that spot because of the absolute breathtaking music.
Being one of my fav games of all time......the theme behind this game can be summed up in one word......Hope.
Okami is such a beautiful game.
The Howling sound from begining makes it even better.
love it. Okami is one of my top 5 all time games, especially the wii version, and this is one of the best soundtracks in that game.
I got Ōkami as part of deal for a used Wii system that had SA2 Sonic Adventure 2 Battle in 2009
I didn't regret branching out a little bit and playing it ♥️. It was there for me in a very dark part of my life.
I started crying seeing that you posted this.
I have so much love for this game, through my childhood, teen, and adult years every time I play it... god the music still gets me, its a wonderful game AND experience. It means a lot to me to see your appreciation for this track, genuinely is the most hopeful and has such a fitting name for it
oh, thank you!! i just love Okami, i grew up on it, and to see you listen and analyse The Sun Rises is just the best! im glad that Okami is still getting a bit of limelight.
anyways, the song is about the main character, Amaterasu. she is the sun goddess, though she's restricted to a wolf form as you play the game. she's seen as the mother of all other gods, and so I think thats where the warm support comes in. this song plays during the final boss fight against Yami. he takes Ammy's power and as she is moments from death, her Celestial Envoy, Issun, spreads her image and, as a result, everyone you had met were praying to her. and like. THAT FUCKED ME UP MAN I FUCKING SOBBED. the prayers give her her powers back, and so she is returned to her finest form; the wolf they called Shiranui
that could also point to the happy, positive, hopeful sound comes from. you have made a comeback. youre playing the sun goddess who is defeating the lord of darkness. you are the one saving the people of Nippon and you are going to win. and i think that's exactly what the music is showing you.
Okami is one of my favorite games of all time, I'm really happy you covered this
Every time I see this song pop somewhere, I'm thinking "eh, it's not that good but anyway..." and in the end, it makes me feel a rush of positive emotions, I can't think of it as anything else but one of my favourite songs in video games!
珍しいことに、日本の太陽神は女神です。だからこの曲は勇ましさよりも慈しみや、優しさを感じて、涙がこぼれそうになる時があります。
theme of the celestials by okami is amazing, lots of feelings in that one
Every time I hear The Sun Rises or Brave Warrior Oki, I want to bawl my eyes out and fight God at the same time
Literally as soon as I found your channel I hoped someone had recommended this song to you
🍀🍀🍀🍀 Okami is back ❤
🍀 ☘️ 🍀 ☘️
OMG ur finally listening to one of my favourite video game tracks of all time! Im so happy
:-) Kind regards and keep up the good work!
okami is one of my favorite games, i cry all the time when i listen the final songs of this game
I would highly suggest:
Reset ~'Thank You' Version~ (The normal version has lyrics)
Twin Devils Moshirechik and Kotanechik's Extermination
Demon Lord Nine-Tail's Extermination
The Emperor of Eternal Darkness
Ushiwaka's Dance ~ Playing with Ushiwaka
Just hearing the soundtrack brought me an overwhelming sense of indescribable nostalgia; I played the heck out of this game when it came out on the PS2 and was the very first game I ever did a full completionist run over and over again. Personally, it's my favourite video game ever and a masterpiece on all fronts, and I love every single aspects of it. The soundtracks are all so glorious that you could only appreciate it truly when walking through the watercolour-brush environment of the game.... I truly truly love Okami, can't you tell?
Thank you for covering this gem, and you should totally play Okami!
Can't wait for the Yami theme video
I hope you do give it a try, this song is so fitting for where it shows up!
Please play this game, it's one of my all time favorites and the nostalgia it brings is just... No words
If I had asked for one, it would be Reset, or Reset ~Thank You
Oh, and not only is it a Capcom game, it was a game by Clover studio which later became PlatinumGames. And I'm sure you know what other games they have made and what awesomeness many of those soundtracks are...
This them really complements Yami the final boss theme, you should really listen to that one too it’s amazing.
Yeah I like how contrary to a lot of tense battle themes, this one was bright and hopeful and happy. It feels great in the narrative too, as the world is basically behind you and praying for your success and your best friend is hyping them, and you, up, is wonderful.
Thanks for giving me an alternative name for what I call "justice minor harmony", "heroic" does sound very appropriate.
Anyway love your videos and keep up the good work ^^
I love this game so so much and this song playing is such an epic moment!!! you really feel the power and the hope. definitely play the game.
I still get shivers when I hear this song. played this game way back when it first came out.
The Sun Rises, and Reset(with vocals and without) are two of my all time favorite songs in gaming. Nothing has hit the same since I played through Okami the first time.
Thx for covering this one, too!
One of the most powerful things about The Sun Rises is the contrast between it and the previous phase of the fight. I won't elaborate too much to minimize spoilers, futile as it may seem, but I love this.
Like before watch.
Okami always deserve love.
初見でも日本人の私より理解している気がする・・・。メロディ戻ってくる読みもすごいわ。
ゲームやったことないけど良い曲だと思うし、なぜこの曲が愛されているのかが分かった気がする。
Okami is life, Okami is love. 🥰
This brings back so many memories. I think I might just have to get myself a new copy of ookami for one of the systems that I currently own.
You might what to listen to Susano's theme next, It could be interesting. Anyway, Okami is an exelent game that I highly recommand to all action aventure lovers
Yes! Okami! I hope this gets enough views for it to be worth doing more from this game :)
Omg!!! OKAMI is literally my #1 favorite game of all time. So happy to see you making a video on it.
