I'm in Dhaka in Bangladesh! It was the same price to fly here on the way back to Europe as it was to fly direct, so I decided to come here for a couple days to experience a little bit of the country. These are my first impressions!

I very much enjoyed your video regarding Dhaka. As I am not a native English-speaker, it would be a very good idea to subtitle your videos in English. For me it is a bit difficult to understand spoken English, although your spoken English is perfect. Many thanks.

I'm an Indian/Bengali American (although my parents are from Bangladesh) and this video showed Bangladesh in a positive way. Everyone knows about India because it is a larger country, but Bangladesh have their own little charms like Cox's Bazar and that pink temple you showed (forgot the name).

One of your best videos! What makes it different, apart from the great video shots, is the fact that Bangladesh is not as well travelled as other South-Asian countries. Your snapshot of Dhaka is a great introduction - you should go back and get out of the capital to explore more of the country.

Samran, I feel the same way. Despite what happened in '71 as people we've come a long way. I live in USA and I meet some of the best people I know at the mosque every friday who are from Pakistan. We share so much that are just more than a religion. Whether we are Hindu or Muslim the division that happend in '47, we're still paying for it. Maybe its high time we forget our differences, rocognize each other and work together, stand together shoulder to shoulder...as brothers.

As an Irish Bengali, that had me laughing out loud. You summed up my experience of Dhaka in your short time there. Fair play though. Take it from me, countryside (anywhere outside of Dkaha) is truly beautiful, particularly up north and south. Dhaka, less so. Always enjoy getting out of Dhaka, and that's from someone who's lived in cities like Dublin, New York and Tokyo. There are some nice areas in Dhaka, but you certainly have to know the right people. Being white does help, as you're a celeb that effectively lmao.

Ayee, I just stumbled upon this now. Nationality-wise, I'm Bengali but I never actually went to Bangladesh until recently and was curious to see what people who actually aren't bengali think of Bangladesh. My expectations were the lowest of the low for Bangladesh, because where I'm from the areas that are majority Bengali, people are normally rude and act very up themselves. When I visited Bangladesh, it was nothing like that. I don't think I met a single person who was rude. Everyone was genuinely nice, wanted have conversations, learn stuff and all. Luckily I speak bengali so I was able talk a lot to lots of people, although everyone picked up that I'm not from the country very easily lol. Very interesting place. For a place with minimal regulations compared to western countries with traffic, salaries and wages, business opportunities... I didn't expect the people to end up so nice. Loved watching this vlog mate lol will keep watching

    Dear Jord,
I see you have missed a lot of things here. I am a native Bangladeshi and would like to suggest you some tips so that your next trip can be memorable and more colorful. First, go though some local Facebook communities like 'Travelers of Bangladesh/tob' etc. Then find a local tourist guide here. You can start from Panchagarh where you can see the Kanchenjunga Mountain, third highest peak in the world located on the Himalaya's. Then you can visit other places in Rajshahi, stay a night on boat over the Tanguar Haor at Sylhet's Sunamganj and visit Madhabkundu fountains, then Chittagong's Cox's Bazar sea beach and Bandarban's hill tracks and fountains. Don't forget the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest in Khulna and floating markets in Barishal. Each of this places have some beautiful historical monuments to take your breath away. Then you come to Dhaka and eat a lot of local foods in Puran Dhaka(the old town) and visit the Dhaka University, National Museum, watch a cricket match in Mirpur Stadium, go to New Market for shopping and buy some books from Nilkhet book market. Moreover, you can go to Hatirjheel or visit the Safari Park in Gazipur. You should come to Shahbag on the first date of Bengali New year (14 April) for a lot of surprises and visit the Book Fair there on February. Also visit to kite festivals in Puran Dhaka. Hope that can bring the best out BD for your next trip. You can use trains and stemmers to avoid the traffic. Hope you come again and again here in Beautiful Bangladesh.

Its just because he is foreigner who's talking while recording everything and people thought that he is more approachable cause he is already talking.... Otherwise, the foreigners who come to Bangladesh for work or education purposes we don't bother them.... And He should have visited Cox's Bazar, Bandarban or Syhlet.... I think visiting a place like that would be very intimidating to someone like myself..I live in america in a small country town where we have all the modern conveniences that some country's don't have. Like this place. I would love to go and experience it myself but the first time I see the street vendors, the rivers with debris, the old buildings and the people themselfs not to mention the heat and air quality, I think personally I would be OVERWHELMED. Congratulations on having the courage to experience these places like Dhaka and sharing with us.

N L hi I am Bangladeshi. Your pm modi is something!! What should I say about him !! First thing Bangladesh is a secular country. We don’t do divisions by religion.Prosecuting is far way to think off for us . Anger raises here only when your pm says shit about Bangladeshi people/ when innocents Muslim being killed in India. Your pm divided Hindu Muslim the way no nation dose for example Hindus from Bangladesh gets Indian visa so easily and welcome to migrate to India, though they don’t want to or we don’t let them go, because they are us and we are them. If a Hindus visa expires there is only 500+ rupi fine for a Muslim it’s 500$ . While other countries See is as Bangladeshi your government see us a Hindu or Muslim. Division is in your country not in ours . Moreover last 10-20 years there is no mass disturbance as Hindu Muslim facts most Muslims suffers many ways than Hindus, but very tiny community fight shows into your media like a world war 3. minority in our country is 10% but there preserved seats for jobs are 30%. The life Hindus are living in Bangladesh Muslim in India even many Hindus in India only can dream off . Your pm offer Hindus free citizenships if Hindus thought India is better than Bangladesh or they are discriminated here or they are treated otherwise your country must have flooded with migrants by now. They are Bangladeshi they are our family, we Lough , fight , cry and share things together as a family should do. They have suffered the same as we did to built this country. Tell your modi that we are not going to fall in his nonsense so easily. He can divided India into Hindu Muslim but not Bangladeshi . No matter how dirty game he plays.. hahhh
