Spinning for almost everything for me. I used to use multipliers for heavy rigs beachcasting sea fishing, but spinning reels are way less hassle with braid. Far better for line control. I lure fish a lot at long range though. Some places I will be dropshotting at 80m+. I just can't see a multiplier that does the job tbh.
@nospoon4799 I've always used spinning reels for sea fishing too, apart from a couple times from the boat, but it just feels right for me as well! Even just being able to bomb cast out there without a backlash in mind haha
@@zombiebitefishing Exactly. One bad backlash and your day can be over. If you travel 100+ miles to fish this can be a real pain. When you get up to casting 9ounces plus bait though a fixed spool gets difficult to use and will savage your fingers if you aren't careful. One of the worst things for your fingers with multipliers is when they slip a bit on the wind up to the cast and the leader knot will plough a deep cut into the pad of your thumb.
@nospoon4799 had that happening to me haha luckily one of my mates had a spare combo for me to use, now I try to keep a spare combo in the car especially when I travel a bit more than usual. And yes had that happening to me with a fix spool, nasty little cut 😅
I like fishing with my bfs but if I'm going to a place where I'm not sure if I'm going to have space to cast with it I just take my spinning, I know it's a good all rounder, casts anything you put in there easy, in the end of the day I know the lure will be in the water for longer and that's important imo
Awesome urban session bro! 🔥 Towns and centers are so underated! I'm so use to spinning reels, I don't think I could ever go to baitcaster! 😅 Great work buddy! 🤘🎣
True bro, all those urban areas full of features and structures for fish to be around! I love urban fishing really! Spinning reels are great, versatile and easy to use 😁 thanks bro 🙏 👍
Will hold you to that my friend would be any good learning curve for me. Maybe one day next week? At 66 everyday is another lesson. Look forward to banging into you.👍💯🎣
@bobsevers6336 we're always learning mate, I know next to nothing to be honest, everytime out fishing I learn something new 😁 yeah maybe next weekend we'll head down to town again 😀
have to say mate im firmly in the fixed spool brigade unless im throwning really big pike lures but i guess its what your more comfortable with, im sure across the pond the americans would say different, great vid as always pal
100% mate, whatever you feel more comfortable with! And yeah, for pike I just use baitcasters I don't even have any big spinning reel 😬😬😅 thanks for watching mate 👍
I get it, that's basically what I do with a baitcaster but with my thumb! Quite tricky to do with a spinning reel since I'm so used to the baitcasters 😅
@@zombiebitefishing Yeah I'm a multiplier user. I use spinning reels very rarely. However I've been doing some similar fishing for pike and perch now the weather went cold. I actually had a 15 year old reel fall apart and I've just ordered one of those Daiwa Prorex today. I've got a 2500 and a 3000 exceler LT. They are absolutely brilliant.
I absolutely loved my ProRex, what an amazing reel for the price. Unfortunately I lost it recently when I tipped my kayak...this was by far my favourite spinning combo, and most expensive as well 😬
@jessicaandtrains7768 was really unfortunate as the rod was secured on the rod holder but as I went over I broke the holder with my leg 😅 I tried for a couple of hours to drag a big treble on the bottom in that area to see if I managed to snag the combo but never happened.
yea spin is definitely better when stopping the line for accuracy isnt a factor...mindlessly bomb a cast. Usually on those bombs you have plenty of time to grab the spool just before the line hits the water so it isnt too bad. Squid fishing comes to mind
Yeah exactly, that's one of the reasons I just using spinning fishing from the beach too, I can just bomb cast out there no much precision involved! The BFS is great though for those little tight spots that you need to cast under cover ot in between boats etc
@@zombiebitefishing thanks I fish in the exact same areas and I can never catch as big as fish as you do only wee babies so I’m just seeing if there’s anything wrong with my tactics but love the content keep it up
@MC-my7cc no worries mate! I don't know but this year I've been catching and seeing a lot of wasps, micro perch really all around town, you're not the only one buddy 😅 I've been lucky sometimes to catch a more decent one but 90% of them are really just tiny haha thanks a lot mate, I really appreciate 😁
What do you guys prefer?? Spinning or BFS for those really small lures?? 🎣

I like both but its a lot easier with a spinning combo 👍🎣
I prefer baitcasters just because of casting accuracy and control, but they can be a pain sometimes 😅 thanks for watching buddy!

100%, bro. I prefer my BFS in general, but I was missing a spinning combo in my arsenal!
Quality little combo that fella and a beautiful perch out of that spot. Must be a few bigger ones down there!!! Well in 👍🏻👊🏻
Yeah mate it's actually really nice that combo 👌 There's gotta be right?? Perfect spot for them, it looks like at least!

@whitetroutchannel thanks for the support mate!
great video this mate, but i love a bfs setup!
Thanks a lot mate! I prefer my BFS combos too 😅 but this is a nice spinning combo to be honest!
Great video !!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot bud!!!!
To slow the cast you place your index finger lightly on the line that's still on the spool. Press harder to stop it more quickly or completely.
I get it, that's basically what I do with a baitcaster but with my thumb! Quite tricky to do with a spinning reel since I'm so used to the baitcasters 😅

oh no!
Sorry to hear that.
I've kayak fished a few times. Very easy to go over.

sick looking combo, very Zombie like
Thanks man, the little perch on the rod and the creepy eye on the reel, you know 👌
Good fishing
Thanks man 👊
Try feathering the spool with your index finger, saves grabbing the line to stop the lure.
Thanks, I'll try that next time!

is it a shallow spool? running straight through mono or fluro?
I think so, ~100 yards of 6lb mono or so, it's a size 2000 if that helps 🤔 straight through 6lb fluoro I'm using!
Nice video! Just curious, is this in UK?
Thanks mate! Yes, it is in the UK.
What gram jig head do you use
That was a 3g jighead. Sometimes I go down to 1.5g, but it's a bit more difficult to feel the lure, so I don't like it as much.

@@zombiebitefishing nice one gonna give it more goes tho hopefully get a few bigger ones
@MC-my7cc 100%, you'll get one! I normally target all the spots with structures like bridges, marinas, hanging over trees, snags 😅
Is that mono or fluoro?
6lb fluoro, sorry I forgot to mention in the video 😅
Baitcaster over spinning reel any day
I use my baitcaster 99% of the time too! But was missing a nice spinning combo to be honest!
