Nice video. If it is what you want to do then do it. I want to try BFS. I see the comments that you can do the same thing for cheaper on a spinning set up but l still want to try it because it looks like fun. Isn’t that why we have hobbies? Thanks for the video.
That’s actually why I’m compared a more budget bfs reel to a entry level nicer spinning reel. Both about the same price, so to me, I don’t think the “do more for cheap spinning” excuse is good enough for me. Especially with the fact you can convert an Abu Garcia black max to a bfs reel, for $60 ish after buying the reel and spool.

@@pauls3616 search up “$20 Abu Garcia bfs spool” or something similar to that here on youtube. Reel test did a video testing it out with the Revo x then with a black max. Very very surprising results. I was impressed. I ordered one and have it on the way now.
Can you try casting fly poppers with a bfs setup? They work so well but it’s hard to cast even on a UL spin reel
Fly bobbers or torpedoes are something to look into.

Just trying to get back into fishing with my buddies haven't really gone in about twenty years. I'm trying to find online, I'm assuming but unsure if i can safely use a bfs reel for walleye pike fishing? Only application I'm really planning to use it in so far is lakeshore fishing and on the shore of the creek that inlets. I feel like an idiot but I've been trying to find a conclusive answer for an hour now 🤦
I don’t see any reason you couldn’t. As long as you’re not trolling. I use bfs in saltwater I’m sure it’s capable of what you’re wanting.

Drag screaming on spinning reels negates everything you said about bait casters
That’s why there’s drag clickers on bfs reels so guess everything is negated about spinning reels
