Just watched your video. I have been awaiting my new radio and it came in today. I was shocked it was too tall. Anticipating having to cut stuff up. Before I cut, decided to see what others have done and found you. You gave me the confidence to carry on. Thank you. So sorry someone stole your radio. Sick world we live in now.
Great video. I followed it and installed a new head unit in my 2000 f-150 tonight. And thanks to you, I went straight to the oscillating tool to make my cuts. 😂
OMG !! I am so sad that happen!! Can't believe it. My prayers to you. Keep calm. May God help those thieves. I am always supporting your channel and I have learned a lot from you.
Sad that someone stole the radio. Always best to install a aftermarket alarm on all your cars and trucks. OEM alarms aren't bad but there are so many ways around them. I'm installing a media Center in my 2001 and also installing a flip down screen that will house a computer. The computer will work as a arcade and play thousands of games. I'm also removing the OEM factory amp and sub amd going with aftermarket. Great content, keep up the great work.
@@TwoKeysStudio trying to but there isn't any cheaper ways to install it correctly and safely. Ibe been stock up everything I need to install it all. There's no cheap way to install it correctly and safely. I do keep hitting walls and that's why i haven't started the install yet. It looks like I may have to scrap the idea and just go with a good aftermarket radio, aftermarket 8 inch sub to replace the factory. Then install 2 larger subs with another amp in the back. Leave the arcade and screen out of it. Just taking a huge risk of something overheating and melting wires and burning it all up. I did find a mini PC that runs off of a 12 volt supply. That is my partway of going. I will have to change PC and leave out the inverter and keep everything 12 volt all the way through.
The plug-in that plugs in on the left side under your vent to the back of the panel is a cable that plugs into your four-wheel drive switch if you have four wheel drive on your vehicle. I have a 2000 Ford Expedition that is four wheel drive and it plugs into that switch that controls my four-wheel drive high/low and two-wheel drive
My 2001 expedition still has the original factory stereo which includes a 6 cd changer in the center console... im looking into upgrading to a radio that has bluetooth... if i upgrade, will the cd changer become obsolete?
You are lucky the 6 CD changer still works. Had mine apart 3 times and cant figure out why it jams. A head unit and CD's ripped to USB are in the future for me.
That sucks... really sorry to hear that..becoming an untrusting world unfortunately.. after all that hard work ... it's disturbing....hope you can afford another one .. great install by the way ..Thx for the info..👍😀
Can you tell me what the number on the after market wiring harness is on 1998 ford expedition having trouble finding one at store for my year model I could not see the case in video
Also, my expedition came with and LCD flip up radio which is stock, (Eddie Bauer edition) The screen flips up but doesn't turn on so I'm hoping maybe this video will guide me 😅
I just had a quick question about the interface do you remember what wire you use to hook up the positive for each speaker the high level positive or low level positive
That is a very good question and I honestly do not remember for sure The first one that I did was incorrect on the wiring diagram that I had. I told Crutchfield about it and the unit that I replaced the one that was stolen from me with had the correct wiring. I think it was low level positive.
I have a 2002 Expedition and when I shut the car off the heat stay on. I pulled the fuse for the front blower motor but yesterday the back came on. The rear window wiper arm seal is loose and maybe water is getting in and causing a short? Any ideas? Ps - Thanks for sharing your ideas on here.
Could be water or a stuck relay. I've had a fuel pump relay stick on before. Swap your blower motor relay with another one and see if the problem changes.
So I'm getting ready to install a double din in my truck it is a 1999 expedition xlt with the premium radio with the alpine setup 6 disc changer I am curious about the harness you used every were i look no one offers a harness like that i just want to make sure I'm getting the right one. Also the door grills say premium is that the same as the Mach?
The one I used was purchased through Crutchfield. I think that they have now changed venders. Give them a call and ask them about it. Crutchfield is very helpful, and not pushy with sales. I have been a customer for years. Crutchfiled.com
So I have a f150 2001.. I'm trying to put a single in.. but there is this black cord that goes in the back? Not the antenna. A different cord, and idk what it is. Can anyone help me? There is an area for a cord like that to go but it does have the right slots. Like it's the perfect place for it to go just it's the wrong holes inside the cord. Anyone know what I'm talking about or do I sound crazy?

This was one of my first videos and I now have much better equipment, although shooting video inside a vehicle like this isn't easy. No matter what angle I shoot at, I end up getting my arm, shoulder, or whatever in the way. As for the blown fuse issue, it sounds like you may have a dead short somewhere. Pull the fuse and do an ohm check from the non power side to ground. It should be infinite resistance. I sometimes use the audible setting on resistance and move the wiring harness around listening for beeps. This can aid in finding a wire that has been rubbing up against some sharp metal and become chaffed.
Probably the amp trigger isn't hooked up correctly. I think I mentioned that in my first video. If I remember correctly, it was blue or blue and white connected to the power antenna lead.
Where can I find a original radio for my 98 expedition xlt with the cd changer in the counsel? I can't seem to even find a picture of what it looks like.

Hi. I wanted to know was there any metra dash kit you installed? Or did you just trim the bezel and put it in like that
that plug around 23:30 is for a 4x4 selector
Those wires are for the 4x4 selector.
I have the same vehicle and I was wondering how do you bypass the factory amplifier
Bypassing the factory amplifier requires running the wires back to the amplifier and using that plug instead of plug up front near the head unit
Of course I will subscribed to your chanel.
