    Those drainage holes in the front of the bed is for the tornique box to drain as will take on water

      Or retractable tonneau cover.

      We will see how they work. I ordered the powered retractable tonneau cover from Ford for my Ranger Raptor.

    The 8 dimples on the side of the tub near the tailgate is where you drill to fit the factory Arb compressor mount. I am also getting the J braces fitted as I am getting a canopy. The factory accessory canopy is the RSI canopy.

      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great to know! As far as I know, that compressor isn’t available through ford in the US yet but it is only a matter of time I hope. I will also be installing the bed braces because I’m going to do an overland rig eventually

    its a drain for something like a folding bed cover the box drains into those holes with a drain line

      You are correct, I ended up using the drains when I installed my retrax tonneau cover that has drain lines from the storage canister

    Really been appreciating the vids. Just put my deposit down today. Same shelter green. Build date was yesterday so hopefully just a few weeks out.
    My dealer wanted 8-9k over. Talked down to 3 but not happy about it. Just didn’t want to wait or search endlessly since my current truck needs to go.
    First thing on my list is a fluid film application and then a roof rack system for lightbar and kayak.

      3k over isn’t bad but I am with you, it still sucks… I will be doing the undercarriage coating as well and plan to get a bed rack system for a tent eventually

      Should have shopped around. There's definitely dealers selling them at MSRP because that's what I'm paying. Even if the dealer was a couple hours away it's well worth it to save 3k

    Commander, Don’t remember which video your garage door opener wasn’t working well. I find that if I put the visor down the range is better and it works on the first button push.

    Are you going to get a tonneau cover or a cap? I’ve been using soft covers for many years. They keep the bed mostly dry and keep eyes out and allow use of the fully open bed. With locking tailgate fairly secure. All depends on how you will use your truck. Also the type of bed liner. Have had them all over the years. Check out the “bed-rug” if you are not putting a bunch of nasty shit back there. Thanks for the video. Enjoying the content.

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will be getting a hard gold or roll up cover for the bed with spray in liner as I intend to use this to pick up loads of dirt and mulch and take stuff to the dump regularly.

    can you put a piece of drywall in it? what is the width?

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you sure can. It is 48 1-4” wide. I had a piece of 4’x8’ plywood in the back below the wheel wells so if that fit so would some drywall! Cheers

    Regarding the camera system, if you put the truck on reverse, the backup camera automatically appears. But does it switch automatically to the front camera view when you put it from reverse to drive?

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It only automatically puts the forward camera on if you are in the off-road or rock crawl mode from what I have found. Any other mode and it will just put the normal display back on the screen of radio or navigation or whatever you have going on there. You can push the camera button if you want then just exit out of it when you want to go back to the normal screen. Hope that helps

    Just picked up my raptor yesterday. I noticed my tailgate doesn’t shut flush. At first I just thought it wasn’t fully closed. Please let me know if your tailgate does this as well. I assume an adjustment is needed. Super pumped having this unit. Love the vids.

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mine is totally flush. That is a pretty easy adjustment that the dealer can do for you to get it fitting just right most likely! Hope you get it squared away quick! Enjoy your truck… these things are so much fun

      @@flaberdoopin thanks for the reply back, just called sales guy to see when I can get this looked at. What suspension setting is best for comfort… normal or off-road? I can’t really tell.

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hopefully they make it a quick fix for you and dont make you drop it off for a day for something that easy to fix. As for the suspension for comfort, on the road it is really great in sport mode... if you are hitting a ton of potholes, probably switch it to comfort as for offroading, i just left the suspension in the setting that was native to the off-road driving mode and the rock crawling driving mode, i didn't pay close enough attention to see what setting it was, i'll keep an eye on that next time.

      Gotcha.. just watched your last vid fully and like how you touched on control setup. Found it a little annoying when it was constantly telling me check back seat. Yeah I get it. I have a gym bag in there relax. 😂 just turned it off. Thanks for the tip and that’s why I’m following your journey. Keep up the great videos dude very informative

      Try really slamming the tailgate. I’ve heard a few over here (Australia) need slamming to fully properly latch for the first few months. Things tend to then ease up after a while

  • @shelbygtrag5859
    @shelbygtrag5859 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just one question, in winter when it’s freezing cold how do you change your heating? Does controls work with gloves?

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      there are physical knobs to control the climate settings. just turn the dial to turn up the heat. if you want to get into the settings you would have to use the touch screen but based on ambient temperature it will also turn your heat seater and heated steering wheel on automatically when you start it... that said, you have to use to touch screen to turn it off once it is too hot to be comfortable.

    How would you grade the carpet on the interior

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it is pretty good... i haven't given it a solid vacuuming yet because it hasn't gotten that dirty yet, but when i was running the wires for the stereo i was down there tucking wires under the molding and the carpet felt like it would last... i think for a midsize truck, it is near the top... for cars across all spectrums it's in the middle. BMW and other sportier cars with finer qualities are better, but i would take this over my wifes 2010 kia interior any day... (we sold that for a Sienna back in 2013 but i still remember that thing)

    Do these trucks in the States come with AC power in the bed? It says in the UK they come with 240v 400watt units but since the truck came out the 2nd sockets in the bed have always been empty.

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the bed has both a 12V and 110V outlet in the US.

    What I find crazy is that with all the settings this car has, there's no way to have the doors auto lock when starting to drive - but there is a setting for the doors to auto unlock when putting the car in park?? Such a strange setup to be able to auto unlock but not auto lock! Not a too much of an issue in Australia or parts of the US I guess, but I imagine in parts of South Africa it could be a massive issue

    • @flaberdoopin
      @flaberdoopin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am pretty sure that the doors do lock in the US spec vehicles when you start driving and get over 15 mph i believe. I will pay closer attention today when i am driving to see when it happens.

      i'd get roast beef or turkey personally. the bed on this is about as good as you are going to get on a midsize 4 door truck. a lot of people dont want to deal with a full size truck and dont need that much vehicle 99% of the time.
