Because the other camera died I was forced to really rely on & use both these camera…. And man.. they’re great!! Def pros and cons to each but using them both together really gave me so much flexibility in the shots I was able to get. OP3 will always be my go tooo becuase it’s overall the better camera BUT the Go3 (not the Go3s) allowed me to get some very interesting shots that made my video so much better
Thank you for sharing your experience. My main camera draws a lot of attention and sometimes I don’t feel like carrying it everywhere and these small cameras have done a very good job so far.
Im glad i chose dji osmo pocket 3. Thanks for this video. Ive seen a lot of video using insta360 go 3s, the video quality is bad especially low light as what youve mentioned. Although, go 3s has its advantages especially you are into outdoor activities
The biggest issue with the Pocket 3 as a travel vlogging camera is that it's not weather resistant. I recently took a cruise where there was 50% chance of rain (as many summer days are) most days and I couldn't really even use it. You need a good action cam to accompany it. I am having trouble finding decent waterproof carrying bags so if you know of any, I'd love to see some videos on some options.
I mean the ones I’ve seen are good to go underwater but they are bulky and it will reduce the quality of your videos specially if you use it outside of the water. Not sure if this makes sense
@@OttoJulian_ At this point, I'm looking for a carrying case or bag that is waterproof. I've found a few that are "resistant" but I'm not sure if I trust them in a downpour. I will probably use zip-lock bags in addition. With the Pocket 3 safe, I can then use an action cam or cell if necessary.
I don’t think it’s upscaling to 4K, if we compare with the old Go3 at 2.7K, the new ones has a much higher quality. The problem is when we compare to a camera that has more going on. If I compare the Pocket 3 videos with the ones I take with my Sony A7IV, those videos won’t look as good either.
Using them both right now on vacation. Love both of them..noticed that I am using the Go3 more coz it’s soooo convenient- hiking, driving, biking, 4x4 off roading, and snorkeling. I and the wifey seem to using the pocket 3 at night for dinner or strolls. Love them both. My old eyes can’t tell the difference in video quality. Lol
Hi Otto, I often watch your excellent videos. Have you noticed, with the Go3 S, that if you shoot and export in landscape mode, you'll only get 4K in 4/3 format? Also, if you want to switch from portrait to landscape mode, and vice versa, you have to stop recording before changing the position, otherwise the video won't play back in the right direction. Congratulations on your videos... Albert.
A good and fair review. Both camera's have thier merits but together they make for a powerful combo, if that's your bag. But for a regular user the Go3S is more convenient imho
interest on Insta360 GO3S being portability especially for running...but if one goes for 2-week vacation, does one need to transfer from Go3S' internal storage to external hard disk/notebook/phone ? Currently I am using GoPro 11 with 512GB microSD, no worry on transfer files until I am back from vacation.
Hi Otto~ Long time no see, Glad to see you again~ thanks for the very detail and informational reviews of this two gadgets ~ I got my OP3 finally 6 months ago due to the every one rushed for it when I put the deposited at the DJI dealer after 3 weeks later~ now the OP3 is my work horse, every function and every setting of it were excellent in design~ 1" big comos sensor is the winning matters of all~
A good comparison which I think emphasizes the importance of first determining the nature of the job and then picking the right tool. Probably the Go 3s is the best camera of the job needs something that small. The Pocket 3 is the best compact gimbal camera if the job needs that style of device. Sadly that tends to mean that you have to buy both to cater for all situations! Ouch.
The GO 3S is in theory less conspicuous if you want to use it more kind of a "stealth" or "spy" camera to record outside whilst avoiding weird people complaining (especially in NYC, where there are many drugged people or with mental illnesses that will look for trouble even if you have done nothing wrong or you are not interested in recording them at all, and it is useless to try to talk these people into logic or explain the 1st amendment), but that red blinking light gives it away. I guess the DJI one does not have such a light, right?
I took both cameras on a recent trip to Colorado and it was the best decision I made, just like you said, I had the GO 3S mounted on my chest for my hikes and the Pocket 3 inside my pocket when I wasn't recording

I had the pocket 2 and as a travel vlogging camera I found it pretty pointless/useless. That meant it became no good for day to day travel vlogging. The insta 360 go 3s is absolutely perfect, and for the same price as the pocket 3 I could get 2x cameras and 1x action pod……no brainer 🤓
Thank you for sharing your experience/opinion! Yeah, these Pocket cameras are more fragile and it's not for everyone! Go 3S have been fun to record with!

Thank you so much! It’s always a difficult choice! I mostly prefer the P3 but that’s because I value more the image quality and low light performance. You have to think how often you’ll use it where you need waterproof, or how often you won’t have lots of natural light. I’m guessing makeup routines are mostly indoors with artificial lights…. Smaller cameras do suffer in those environments

Great video! I’m in the market for a small camera like this, however, I’m just a family guy that just wants to take a few videos while on vacation. Which would you suggest for usability and basic Dad functions? 🧔🏻♂️
It's really hard to tell as it will all depend on how you intend to use them and what conditions you are going to be "facing". The Go3S is quite basic, small learning curve with different options, etc. P3 higher video quality, low light will be better, gimbal is more fragile but movements will take some time to get used to. The GO 3S is more of a fun camera, think of POV shots from your chest, sticking it to a metal surface, etc.
Damn. I am here considering the biggest purchase of my life because I want to step outside my comfort zone and try vlogging and make a living out of it! So I literally am spending my 1 year worth of savings. Here you are considering buying just for a vacation. 😫 I super envy youuuu

Seems like the DJI Pocket has improved a lot, since I last saw some footage, a few years back. But what kind of accessories does it have, and can it do "action shots" at all? I'm thinking of buying a new vlogging camera, but can't decide if it should be a regular action camera, a 360 camera - or maybe even this DJI Pocket camera.
Action shots can be limited with the Pocket 3, as it doesn't turn around and some movements are "not possible" because of the way the gimbal works. It difficult to asses without knowing what kind of action we are talking about. For vlogging it's fantastic, as well as for regular videos. Accessory wise the combo is the best choice in my opinion since you get a wireless mic, a battery extension and the carrying case. Pretty sure the basic combo doesn't have the mini tripod either
@@OttoJulian_ What I'd like to do is to mount a camera on a bicycle and use it on regular bike rides. (So no jumps/tricks, or anything like that, heh.) A 360 camera is great, because it offers a view to the front and also records the rider, so all I need is to edit them in post. But for streaming, it's more difficult. If the Pocket could be easily turned around, while riding, that would be enough for me. But seems like it would need at least a very special mount for that...

This is the 3rd time im watchin this video.. and u are right about it is hard to choose between the 2. I wonder if the insta 360 flow can work with go3s or ace pro.. because it is easier to carry than the other huge gimbal.
I haven't tried the Flow or the OM6 because I feel that the magnetic clamp is not wide enough to safely hold those action cameras, but as I said, I still have to try it out. I've used the M6 with the GO3 for casual shots (Casual as short and being careful because camera is not 100% secured)
Thanks for posting. The Pocket 3 looks pretty amazing really. Great images and the flexibility and usability / practicality of the gimbal make a lot of sense.
The flip-screen is really a game changer on these cameras in this form factor. it's a win. but the insta360 is the death for your workflow. I don't know many who actually have or use this really much. it's all dji osmo or gopro.
@@MCVlogsHk they are totally different cameras and totally different proposes. Yes Dji has better image quality but when you start using the go3, you will notice that versatility and fun of use wins. I have both and when I travel with my family I use 80% more the go3 than my pocket 3.
@@stackingdimes6939 because not everyone knows the difference and people get confused or want to know what they get if they buy one or the other. People are the ones making that kind of questions so I answer those in these videos. Very simple. Besides, the Go 3S is not really an action camera.
Thank you for the long wait for the video. Obviously, the video quality of the Pocket 3 is better, but what I like about Go 3s is its waterproof feature and hands-free POV usage. Just attach it to yourself and walk around to record with no hassle Have you had a chance to make a video about Ray Ban Meta smart glasses? I saw them in person once, video quality seems great, wondering how well their camera would perform in comparison to these action/handheld cameras
Do not have Dji but I have Go since gen 1. The convenience of having it on your chest and just start recording inmidiately is unmatched. My wish is that they bring the 15 second pre-recording to the little fella itself too and not just when it's in the pod. Cool comparison BTW.
If your accent wasn't as strong it would have been a lot easier to understand this video without having to rewind and replay a bunch of times to hear, "wait, what did he just say??"
That’s your problem not mine. Almost 7million views on my channel and only you and 2 other people complained about my “strong” accent. Use the subtitles or just don’t watch my videos. Good review, thanks.
You are welcome!
Thanks for the comparison but I still prefer dji. 😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yeah Pocket 3 has a lot going on
@@MCVlogsHk they are totally different cameras and totally different proposes. Yes Dji has better image quality but when you start using the go3, you will notice that versatility and fun of use wins. I have both and when I travel with my family I use 80% more the go3 than my pocket 3.
@@rafael.gazoni oh ok thanks maybe I should try it too.
Superb video!
Thank you very much!

Don’t understand why you’re comparing an action camera and a non action camera to one another completely different cameras
Just attach it to yourself and walk around to record with no hassle
Have you had a chance to make a video about Ray Ban Meta smart glasses? I saw them in person once, video quality seems great, wondering how well their camera would perform in comparison to these action/handheld cameras
Thanks for giving out your opinion. I feel the same way about these 2 cameras.
I haven’t seen the Ray Ban glasses, will sure take a look at them
I just lost my pocket 3 in the airplane ..whoever got it ..I hate them because they can literally contact the westjet instead of keeping it 😢😢😢😢
oh no, so sorry about that
Insta360 GO 3S in low light its sucks .. but i love this camera
I’ve seen worse, but yeah it’s not the best around
Still a nice camera as you said
Do not have Dji but I have Go since gen 1. The convenience of having it on your chest and just start recording inmidiately is unmatched. My wish is that they bring the 15 second pre-recording to the little fella itself too and not just when it's in the pod. Cool comparison BTW.
Thanks!!
I think that the value provided goes beyond the accent (which nobody seems to have a problem with when I talk to them)
So rude. I’m spanish and I’ve understood every word he has said. 😒
Most ridiculous comment i read. Otto everything is accurate thank you for the great review
@@Osskiiieats thank you and @Nuria for the support!
