EDIUS @ NAB Show 2023 - perfect EDIUS X Integration into AMPP and Outlook for collaboration

- Michael Lehmann-Horn, CEO of EDIUS.NET/magic multi media speaks with Atsushi "Alex" Kataoka, Product Manager of Grass Valley EDIUS about the NAB Show News 2023.
The focus for the EDIUS team was to release a fully integrated AMPP solution for EDIUS. The NAB Show has become a tradeshow for mainly broadcast users like news and TV stations. They have a high interest into a fully integrated AMPP workflow. The AMPP support for EDIUS X will be released shortly and will allow a lot of Grass Valley AMPP and even STRATUS users to not only import and export media files with AMPP, but also open sequences generated with the AMPP Editor, a HTML5 browser-based editor, and continue working with them in EDIUS and add additional functions.
In the interview Alex also mentions that in the near future we will see a solution for EDIUS users who want to work together in smaller groups. Interested customers could see a first demo at the show floor and later this year we will see the official announcement and release of that new networking solution.
And what about Pro users and what about AI?
Talking about AI: EDIUS X now works like a big database and can interact with all different kinds of services to add and share metadata. So text to speech is already possible with the new API and SDK and in the AMPP integration, it is all about this. Right now, these technologies come first to bigger installations and broadcasters, but in the near future, we will see it also for Pro users, don't worry. The NAB Show simply is not the right place to focus on features for Pro users, as there are very little Pro users here. That has really changed from the past. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

as a content creator i am using Adobe premiere pro but now switch to EDIUS but i want to some seamless transition for more effective. please update some transition.
EDIUS includes a collection of seamless transitions. If you use the EDIUS.NET Setup Manager, it will be instalkled automatically: www.edius.net/download
If built-in screen recorder option is also added in edius x pro, it will be a great feature.
Windows 10 and 11 support Screen recording directly Just use "Windows Key"+"g". You can use EDIUS than for editing the screen recordings.

How many months of free updates will we get for Edius X Pro?
All 10.xx updates are free. Since the release in October 2020, there have been many free updates and there still will be free EDIUS 10.xx updates in the future.

What do you mean? Do you want to edit a recorded live stream? Or do you want to output from the timeline into a livestream?
probably all the functionality is kept for edius 11. so X was a mistake to update to from 9. no new stuff.
Don’t think it’s a mistake tho but rate of development has drastically reduced as compared to previous versions. Even Avid now understands that it has to up its game to keep to the times. The development team for Edius is quite small as compared to others and now with the extra workload of supporting other products from Grassvalley it’s quite a hurdle to juggle. I had hoped that the acquisition of SAM will greatly add to the toolset and features of Edius but let’s just wait and see what comes up in version 10.4
@@emmanuelpaintsil6909 it seems as if there will be no 10.4 or 10.5. They just skip to 11.
@@InstinctVisuals usually version numbers go up to .50 or .60 before the new release which is announced around IBC

Speed Ramping EDIUS X Updates ? Smooth Speed Ramping in Davinci Resolve
There is already a speed ramp included in EDIUS, but it works differently: reallocate time. You mark the moments in a movement and put it to the area where you want it to be. By doing so you can work much more accurate than using a speed ramp where you never know which moment will land where.
@@EDIUSNET In EDIUS, it is well thought out, but it still works quite differently than, for example, Resolve, and it seems more complicated. Any chance you could make a tutorial on this soon, going into more detail? I believe that advanced users of EDIUS will be interested in it. Thank you ;-)

I miss a significantly better basic subtitler that will allow you to write text like in a word processor, load files *.odt, *.doc, *.docx, *.pdf, *.xls, etc. Fonts of different sizes and colors, use Tab(ulator) or add a logo to the text. I think it's a shame that such a sophisticated program has a lousy subtitler, rivaled only by Movie Maker, the simplest.
Agreed Quick titler needs a big update as am not a fan of the newblue titler addon, very cumbersome to work with taking away the simplicity of the Edius brand. Hopefully we have all these addressed in the upcoming update, fingers crossed
In EDIUS X, Titler Pro 7 was added. There are other Titlers like VisTile an an option. But we understand your needs and there will be further improvements in the future.
Still no new features to talk about. Resolve and Adobe are pushing out new and innovative features and Edius has nothing new to offer than AMPP which craft editor do not need. Transcription and AI tools to make editors life easier

Features always come at the expense of stability.
@@EDIUSNET well said, and I completely understand it’s a work in progress thing but simple features like exporting xml from the timeline, audio waveform display in the source viewer, being able to import a select sequence instead of the whole project when importing project which I know is available in stratus should be an easy add. Export file size estimation as well and some other quality of life features wouldn’t hurt stability. Sometimes it’s the communication gap that’s a worrying sign as even the forum is without that much activity like the Canopus days. Fun times back then, we wait to see the big reveal

"Simple features" might look simple in the beginning, but often are not that simple as it seams. Anyway, you will see nice new features soon, don't worry!
you should release Mac version , to boost Edius with Apple silicon .. Why are you insistent to release just for windows! Microsoft itself loses the game to new Mac computers and they want to switch on ARM
