Regarding Joe Blitman (the Barbie Collector guy): He's like one of the biggest sources on the whole toy line that wasn't a direct Mattel employee. So it's not just that his video is competently made, but this man is pretty much the final authority on the subject when it comes to Barbie, particularly as a collectible and particularly when it comes to the really old models. He made an entire line of publications, videos and what not and to this day remains active in the field, while obviously knowing his shit. And he kind of makes it a point of most of his publications that this is a hobby like any other - not in tone of "hey, stop making fun of me", but simply explaining why he considers it to be a hobby worth time.

As a newer RLM fan, I was trying to figure out why he was so familiar when I guarantee I hadn’t seen any of his stuff. Then I realized he was the fish in that horribly animated nightmare Gaither’s Pond (Something I found via OneyPlays and Saberspark).
I've seen Nukie, plus seen others review it in a funny style. I really don't think it's a ,so bad it's good movie, it's just boring for the most part, with a few chances for the right riffer to make it funny. At this point it's been built up so much, I doubt they would even bother with it. Look what happened when the nerd reviewed e.t. The expectations are just too high at this point. Hopefully Jay will still be alive. I'm younger than the RLM but have chronic pain and disabilities. I'm also a happy person with a good life. I know that research has shown that non-disabled people consistently rate the quality of life of disabled people lower than disabled people rate their own quality of life. Basically, ableds look at us and assume that our lives are a living nightmare, when usually they're ... fine. Pain isn't ideal, but you adjust. So Jay may think that he'll end things before he becomes disabled, but research and experience tells me that he'll accept it when the time comes. And then Mike can point and laugh at him.
Len Cardinale is still with us, and entered the Archery Hall of Fame about 17 years ago. He's a legit legend. He called himself a "Regular Joe" archer. He was a prolific coach, hunter, magazine writer, archery business owner (in New Jersey of course), and awful public speaker.
He was an ex CPD detective, of course he saw some horrible things, that said he seemed to really care about what happens and doing his best to help the kids.
I look forward to the day when the show is just 20 minutes of Mike looking in the mirror and alternating between uncontrolled giggling and terrified screaming.

Watching this I ask myself, when did these guys get so old. Then I realized I've been a fan of RLM for 15 years. I was in my mid 20s. Now I'm pushing 40. I'm just as old and decrepit as they are.

There are so, so many professors and PhDs like her who have limited practical skills and may not actually be especially intelligent. And deep down they know it, but they can't deal with that reality so they find victims to bully to make themselves feel better by comparison. I think about a literature professor who would openly mock students in class, calling them "lazy" and such, and then end class early to go out drinking with her favorite students. Or about the chair of my department who didn't like that I kept bringing up genuine problems to him (e.g., the microphone not working well so that hard-of-hearing students could not hear the lecture in our largest lecture hall). So he just started blanking me in the hallway in front of the new professors who were eager to kiss his ass. He would literally see me, frown, and look away. I dropped out. It was a financial loss, but I have kept my sanity and my soul.

The professor/chair in question specialized in rehabilitation counseling, which is career counseling for people with disabilities. Rehab professors at my old university would regularly step in when students reported inaccessibly to explain how it actually was accessible, so the university didn't need to waste any money on it. Like the university putting washers and dryers with touchscreens in all the dorms without vetting them for accessibility to see if blind students could use them (they couldn't). Multiple students and even their parents complained, but the director of the "Disability Resource Center" at the university said that it wasn't the technology that was inaccessible, it was the students who "didn't know how to interact/interface with it."

For the RLM viewers who were filled with questions about the music videos of todays Black Spine Junka 3, allow me to elaborate. The singer/comedian is Mark Lowry, a southern gospel singer and comedian who was part of a famous gospel ensemble called the Gaither Vocal Band. In the 90s he had a Weird Al stint making satirical versions of known christian pop hits. The songs you played were satirical takes on Amy Grant's 'Every Heartbeat' and Michael W. Smith's 'Place In This World'. In fact, the man playing 'handsome' Lowry post-surgery (26:00) is none other than Michael W. Smith himself. The youngsters from the 'The Brothers: Fact and Reality' video were for the most part kids of christian musician called Jerome Olds. Under the name 'The Brothers' they made two albums (incl. the one the video is from). Later on, they morphed into a different animal altogether: Family Force 5. With the group they had both a christian and non-christian audience. The style was rather different from the cheesy rap videos: it was in-your-face 'crunk rock' with heavy bass and beat and often nu metal vocals. As someone who has worked in schools and has been fortunate enough not to encounter bullying either as a student or a teacher, I always felt that the kind of 80's high school movie style of bullying can't possibly be real, since surely even the most incompetent teacher would put a stop to that shit immediately, but the older I get, the more I realise that some authority figures are absolutely ineffective at wielding their authority... Sorry they failed you, buddy. :(

I'm younger than the RLM but have chronic pain and disabilities. I'm also a happy person with a good life.
I know that research has shown that non-disabled people consistently rate the quality of life of disabled people lower than disabled people rate their own quality of life.
Basically, ableds look at us and assume that our lives are a living nightmare, when usually they're ... fine. Pain isn't ideal, but you adjust.
So Jay may think that he'll end things before he becomes disabled, but research and experience tells me that he'll accept it when the time comes.
And then Mike can point and laugh at him.
Len Cardinale is still with us, and entered the Archery Hall of Fame about 17 years ago. He's a legit legend. He called himself a "Regular Joe" archer. He was a prolific coach, hunter, magazine writer, archery business owner (in New Jersey of course), and awful public speaker.

I think about a literature professor who would openly mock students in class, calling them "lazy" and such, and then end class early to go out drinking with her favorite students.

Rehab professors at my old university would regularly step in when students reported inaccessibly to explain how it actually was accessible, so the university didn't need to waste any money on it.
Like the university putting washers and dryers with touchscreens in all the dorms without vetting them for accessibility to see if blind students could use them (they couldn't).
Multiple students and even their parents complained, but the director of the "Disability Resource Center" at the university said that it wasn't the technology that was inaccessible, it was the students who "didn't know how to interact/interface with it."

I like that they said he looked 'sharp' despite his attire being *according to them* 2 decades outta fashion. They may have ripped on the "Miami Vice reject" on another episode but at least a traditional 3 piece suit never loses style (albeit, the wrong social setting in this case).

I got bullied A LOT as a kid like so badly that I would force myself to vomit just to try and get out of school because I was so scared to go to school.
Literslly every authority figure I ever interacted with acted the same way the lady in that video did. It was almost cathartic to see the RLM crew tear into it and just lay it bare that its ineffectual disconnected and just plain ignorant.

As someone who has worked in schools and has been fortunate enough not to encounter bullying either as a student or a teacher, I always felt that the kind of 80's high school movie style of bullying can't possibly be real, since surely even the most incompetent teacher would put a stop to that shit immediately, but the older I get, the more I realise that some authority figures are absolutely ineffective at wielding their authority... Sorry they failed you, buddy. :(
@@korganrocks3995 Teachers never helped me, they tried but ultimately what got me outside of bullying was mocking myself. The few teachers that tried to help just made it worse, but at least they were the only ones at school who talked to me.

Maybe it's because I don't love teaching enough to fear losing my job, but if I saw some little shits making another student's life a misery, I'd talk to their parents if talking to the kids didn't work, and if the parents refused to admit that their little angels could be bullies I'd get the police involved. Escalation is key when dealing with injustice; you have to keep taking it to the next level if the current level isn't helping, even if that ends up with you paying some older kids to beat the shit out of the bullies. Anyway, a bit late for that, but I hope you're doing better these days and that your former bullies have matured enough to feel horrible about the way they acted.
