- Mike is back to torture the gang with random VHS tapes from a dumpster. This time he's got a new and even more pointless gimmick! Pick a raffle ball to select a tape? Why? Cause these 40 year-old white dudes are emotionally stunted man-children with nothing else to do with their time.
I had a really surreal dream that Jay was a teacher at my school and I worked up the courage to tell him I'm a massive RedLetterMedia fan and he called me a fucking loser. So now I always look at him as an authority figure.
It's okay, we've all had the Professor Bauman dream.

Black Spine Raffle is maybe the most pointless, gimmicky thing they've done on the show, and I think there should be at least 45 episodes of it.
Truly is the gift that keeps on…. Well it just keeps on, and occasionally gives. But I want more episodes

I think the logic behind restocking shelves is that if the shelves are half-empty the robber will figure you've sold a lot of stuff today so you've got cash in the register.

I watched their BotW episode with Shape Up America shortly after, and lo and behold.... it was one of the products they were hawking during that program! Hidden right among the foot scrubber, Matola cereals, and discount on Hotel.

I think they should do junka again, but make it so the group has to watch every tape that doesn't get pulled out. That way the players are motivated to remove as many tapes as possible. Then rig it so falls down after 3 or 4 tapes.

It's kind of sad to think that in a couple years when Rich and Mike are too elderly to move themselves, they'll have all these great video tapes to watch to help themselves keep in shape and stave off death just a little longer, but they'll just laugh at them instead of applying any of the techniques discussed therein.

I worked at Hollywood Video about 20 years ago - we did indeed have to endure that video. It was one afternoon of video after video after video. Mind numbing - and we had to take notes! Free rentals kept me in that job longer than it should have; I finally got fired for putting RoboCop on the store player before opening and forgetting it was still playing in the back near the kids section.

I always love when the Rajneesh show up. I feel like I was in on the whole thing before it started becoming popular again with all the documentaries that have come out about them in the past half decade. 2008-2009ish When I was in a college microbiology course we had a guest speaker, I forget if they worked for public health or a state crime lab, that was a scientist that helped link bacterial cultures used to poison restaurants back to bacteria found in a Rajneesh lab. They definitely didn’t publicize the talk correctly because it came off as a standard food poisoning investigation but all of us were pleasantly surprised to get a story about a cult conspiracy to throw a local election.
If I remember right, David Blaine would do the standard levitation trick to get the reaction and then they would fake it later to make it look more impressive on camera.
I can vividly remember a friend in high school telling me about it the following week, in particular it was the schtick about being physically ill afterwards that seemed to convince him. The matter-of-fact shooting and editing of that street magic special was pretty compelling for its time, especially for a network TV special considering it predates the reality TV boom and found footage films.
