Just visited the National Videogame Museum in Dallas earlier today. They have a place where they show music from some games and how it would sound on various game consoles. This is the one they played for ALttP. Amazing song.
I have a playlist full of Zelda ambience tracks, and this is one of the songs on the list. *_This was the first thing that played when I hit shuffle this morning_*
I had to get my sister’s then-boyfriend to play the game for me as a kid. Even when I finally beat it a few years ago, I had to use a guide pretty extensively at times.
Was enchanted by this track when first playing aLttP in the early 90s, experienced the beautiful rendition in WW, enjoyed the cameo in BoTW... and now it reappeared in the ToTK trailer! The works of Koji Kondo are just timeless masterpieces
@@yesilovenachosA lot of times people will play older games and it reminds them of a more recent game that they played previously, so maybe they didn’t get it backwards.

To this day, a Link to the Past still has more dungeons than any other single Zelda game. Single because the Oracle games have more mini and full dungeons across the two ttitles. Mini-dungeons: 1. Hyrule Castle/Castle Sewers 2. Hyrule Castle Tower Full Dungeons: 1. Eastern Palace 2. Desert Palace (both parts might be considered mini-dungeons, too) 3. Tower of Hera 4. Palace of Darkness 5. Swamp Palace 6. Skull Woods 7. Thieves' Hideout 8. Ice Palace 9. Misery Mire 10. Turtle Rock 11. Ganon's Tower I think Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess both tie for second. Yeah, I miss the old Zelda formula. But with the next Nintendo console on the horizon, I wonder how much fun Aonuma-san and the rest of the team are having developing the next Zelda game, if the system's as powerful as the rumors and leaks (?) say. Surely it's powerful enough to handle a good amount of dungeons?
i love this game. I played zelda oot firsr so im more casual. But i wish that a bunch of fans of this game weren't such perfectionists. They nitpick on oot and say this game will always be better. Oh but the franchise is now even better and way bigger than it was when this game was the newest one. Oot being first in 3d disadvantaged it and also having so many fans with bigger demand because they played this first. Im glad the saga didn't end in 1993 . Perfectionists. We could be just glad thar Nintendo does what they can and pour their love into these games . Stop pretending it's a sin if the games aren't as good as this one . Hard task to begin with . Many fans of this game can be toxic and hard to be pleased . Oot helped the saga have bigger success and way more popularity. Im glad im a nicer guy and i ended this game in 2006
While the compositions in this game are amazing, I think they would have benefitted from better instrument sampling. Compare this OST to something like Earthbound that really pushed the limits of the SNES's audio capabilities
They didn’t mess around with the soundtrack back then. You heard this song, and you instantly knew you were in danger.
But also, that you were the hero that was needed.

This is the most iconic song in the whole franchise, at least if you ask my ears.
Haha, no friend it was they who were in danger. Here comes Link motherfuckers!!

YES!
Bruh I was just there almost two weeks ago!
Have they played some Megaman in it?
@CapcomSegaFanBoyThis is regarding ALttP not Megaman.
This track is amazing. This game to this day has some of the best zelda music ever made. Heck most of it is still being remade in the modern zeldas.
Case in point, King Rhoam's theme in BOTW is a slowed down version of this track.
That's true of almost all Nintendo franchises. Kirby, DK, Mario, Metroid, Pokemon etc yea they weren't fucking around w the foundation for sure
@@fanana6193now that I think of it they do sound familiar. I'll never be able to unhear that now. Thank you bro

@@fanana6193 My favorite version is the king's theme in Wind Waker at the end of the game
i have not heard these soundtracks since my childhood, the nostalgia is on a level you cant even measure..
This is my Favorite zelda track next to gerudos valley. When horns coming in at the end of chorus is amazing.

My first love for legend of Zelda
This game was way too hard for me to understand as a kid, but I always loved the music and visuals
Same. Soon as I got out of here I had no idea what I was doing so I went to one of my parents old playthroughs and listened to the dark world music
I’m 21 and it’s still hard for me to understand sometimes
@@calebrivera9420 it’s definitely one of the hardest Zelda games imo, really difficult to compete without a guide

2:13 sounds more like Luigis Mansion music
for some reason it reminded me more of banjo-kazooie, dkc2 and dk64
I think you have it backwards, since this came out years before Luigi's Mansion.

Anyone else noticed how this sounds similar to Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, you can hear the influence definitely
