    You should of go with the Alcoa style rim like that cause I have same set up on my 2nd gen it's a dually work truck and it cleared with the 19.5. and its 10 lug converted, but the still looks killer with the way it is.

    Have a 60's style oil drum would look great for a rear tank. I seen a truck with one it
    was odd but nice.

  • @jimmyhamm6041
    @jimmyhamm6041 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You would have to metal fabricate to keep your hood from slightly touch and binding
    againt the cowl and side of your cab. Then your seal will work and could add chrome hold down latches.

    Really nice truck, idea for rubbing issues of frontend is applying some of the adhesive transparent rock guard material.

  • @timcanizares5240
    @timcanizares5240 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That kw from lanita is a sick ride... and that F1 is a bad ride too.... have you considered doing some frame mounted brackets for hood stopers and mounting the hood straps to the frame mounted brackets so it dosen't scrub the cab... my buddy did that to his W9 he got tired of the
    Hood brackets cracking the inside of the hood

  • @centauri9458

    If your hood is still rubbing, go by a Freightliner Dealership and ask to take a look at their hood mounts. It is simple and holds the cab and the hood apart. There is a male end cone shaped on the hood behind the wheel wells. And a female concave cone shape to receive the male on the front of the cab they sit in and have teflon coating to minimize rub and wear. But on big truck they have external hood latches that pull them down tight and hold the hood closed.

    Thing is sick , I think you should build a square body next they are super easy and look mean

  • @arthursmith5409
    @arthursmith5409 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I seen slots and wedges on a big truck hood, slots was on the cab and the wedges on the hood! Metal strip across the firewall with rubber stops across the hood, problem solved.

    did you widen the front end? to fit the dodge front axle width?
    im looking to 4x4 my '51 and unless im bad with a tape measure ill have to significantly narrow my axles to keep the tires inside the fenders

    Very nice design and fabrication work young man! Very clean and uncluttered.. have you considered polished stainless plates under where the fender's meet the cab...maybe some kind of retention system to reduce movement and vibration?

    For the hood get yourself some big rig hood rest

    • @tomrobards7753
      @tomrobards7753 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's what I was trying to tell him you can rob parts off an old truck that has a flip dog house on it and use on there but most of the big trucks don't have nothing but a rubber seal across the top just to keep the weather out worked on those trucks a long time

    I don't see how you're going to get away from those dog House wrist places you could put one on each side of the truck big rubber pads on a metal bracket and bathroom to your to your fireball like most big trucks are made but as far as that pad going across the top of your Barbara and pretty much forget that worked on them trucks a long time
