The EQ blocks on my HX stomp is probably the thing where I learned the most about "tone" since I bought it. So many possibilities to shape your sound. Great video, thank you for the great content.
Source audio eq2 pedal man, does what the GE-7 does but on steroids, in stereo or dual mono, with midi presets up to 100. 8 on board without midi, with apps for iOS and Android pc and Mac, cloud support, sharing, phase inversion, wah, tuner, one stupidly awesome boost like on your other drive pedal, graphic live display. Wipes the floor with that pedal .
Works great with the Telecaster. I have had the same GE7 since 1998 and is still working, just give it clean with contact cleaner, never had any "White noise" because of it being on. Great for retrieving the loss of midrange when using a "Fuzz" Stooges style.
What I’m always unsure on is how a lot of pedals have tone knobs anyway, including the amp. So many places to shape tone in the line. I guess my process would be shape bare amp tone no pedals, and work then from guitar to amp tweaking tone along the way.
great video thanks i didnt know until recent how to do this and i have this pedal just collecting dust as with a multy pedal its easeier just to mix tones and yes on the pc :L))( thanks
Awesome video! Learning about EQ *almost* made me stop shopping for overdrives 😂. I was wondering if you could share your Bassman preset? You use it on a lot of your videos and I think it sounds so good. Thanks, man!
Nice demo. Thanks for sharing. Very nice playing. Beautiful Les Paul!
Thanks Timothy! Hope to have earned your sub

Great info man, thanks a lot. I have moded Mike Boss GE-7. This helps so much!
glad to help!
At 7:32 humbucker to a single coil. Youre welcome.
thanks!

Your guitar sounds really good and is very beautiful 🎉
Thanks frank!
Seriously Don buy the boss. There are several pedals that have volume and GAIN on an Eq pedal.
My favourite is the Caline for 40$ the Boss is 300$

Exactly. EQ your amp to taste, then one pedal at a time in chain order.
@@jacko717 thanks for the tip.

Glad I could help!
A progammable pedal would be usefull to use those tricks in a live situation!!...
Boss makes one! Also all the digital modelers do it
Good examples. I'm glad I came across your channel - very useful.
Thanks for checking it out! Means a lot
You get really good tone out of your set-up.
So how do us bedroom musicians get these modded pedals? Are they only for gigging pros?
Thanks! Its a readily available service on the analog man site. Just mail yours in. Also, XTS in Nashville does it too. Some sell them already modded

Cool, I'm going to look into that. I always learn something new from you. 👍
I appreciate that very much! Plenty of good options out there
what's up socks
Expand your mind.
A Bass Limiter will do the same.
I too had mine modded by Analog Mike and it’s worth doing.
Gorgeous guitar.
Worth us all remembering to boost volume slightly too, when cutting frequencies as that usually leads to a slight volume drop
Whatever sounds best at the end!

@@SteveSterlacci Hes right though

Cool vid! You've inspired me to stop overthinking it and just play with the damn sliders and go wild, see what happens.
Thats for real the best way! Lol enjoy it
Broski. I'm trying to get that clapton strat midboost sound. Will this do it or do i need a 10 band eq? They say he boosts his signal at 500mhz
if its early in the signal path, I am sure you can
Scooping before the pre amp doesnt shape the amp eq and distortion.
Ok
HI THIS IS MIKE DOES THIS GE 7 BOSS PEDAL MAKE ALOT OF NOICE AND HISS SOUNDS AND CAN U GET MODDED THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER MIKE
Hey Mike. This one is modded. The stock ones in extreme settings will hiss. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching
Hi! How do you acustic simulate your eleftric guitar with an equalizer pedal?
Cant with just an EQ unfortunately
Great video, thanks. Where was your GE-7 in the pedal chain for this video?
Just after the drive pedals! Thanks for checking it out
That is one beautiful axe
Cool 😎
Thanks bro!
Nice Job!
Analogman modded ge-7 or Wampler EQuator?
I haven't tried the wampler but they make amazing stuff
Best as an 'always on' at favorite setting since you can't constantly jack with the settings during a set.
for sure
Is that one of the super customs from Gibson?
Yes!
What were the tone controls on the Les Paul set at?
Full up for this
great vid steve!
Thanks Devin!
I have turned my EQ pedal into a octave
Sick 😎😎🥶
Thank you!!
You recon you could get a tele vibe out of a filtertron with eq?
Definitely!
Or. how to f****** the tone of a sweet Les Paul!
Ok
Is the GE7 before or after drive?
Depends on application. Works great in both senses
I like it b4 and where he has it at 6:26..I keep it on and at that setting always...but it is to taste

Thanks Keith! I have debated what to do with it since I am using a 3rd party IR. I may use a loadbox and make one without a speaker soon
@@SteveSterlacci cool, thanks! Would you care to share which IR you use?
Ownhammer celestion NEO creambacks
@@SteveSterlacci cool, I've already got that pack! It's so good!
This is my third day with this pedal and i fell in love withnthe neck pickup of my tele. I used to hate it 😂
Heard a TH-camr say I can get P90 sounds outta my Strat with this pedal, is that true?
It wont be perfect, but yes absolutely
I need to have my ge-7 modded. Its noisy. so I don't use it.
Its worth it!
