What kind of Pokémon is Magikarp?
・ It's famous-for being pathetically weak, unreliable, and generally useless.
・ It can't learn any powerful moves-all it does is flop around and splash!
・ When it flops its way too high in the sky, it's sometimes snagged by the Bird Pokémon Pidgeotto-never to be seen again!

You can tell if you're gonna get a ditto. If you find a rod that's facing away from the others, if you pick it up and use it to fish you'll get a ditto.

When I started to trying looking for the shiny Magikarp on my second encounter I’ve captured I Ditto that transformed into a Magikarp.

I did'nt use this method, but after i got my first Shiny Magikarp (yesterday), i went to the next Generation and caught anóther Shiny one (also yesterday), and today i went to to the next generation and caught anóther Shiny one 🙃 So basically, sometimes you can just be pretty lucky 😅

Spend 250 diamonds on fishing and if you press the opposite facing one you get a ditto and if you tap the other two you get a dratini

Does this method also work for Android users? Because I am and I still didn't get a shiny after trying for a while and others say they got a shiny after the 3rd attempt. Does this method not work on Android users or it does but I just need to keep trying?
Deryk Lei Tiglao it should work! Just make sure you reboot the app, like close out of it completely and don't let the screen get to the part where you see what type of magikarp it is. Be patient with it, it's taken me a few seconds all the way up to 30mins.

Somthing funny happened. So i lost the Quick League and tried to fish a Magikarp the 3rd rod was in the other side so i clicked it i fished up a ditto. But after that i clicked the same rod AND FISHED A GOLDEN MAGIKARP. Most luck i ever got
Guess what i got it when it was my 4th gen i got a golden Magikarp then i found a new event after training there was this tree with berries... Then i just tapped yes over and over. Then my golden magikarp jumped... And i had to fish a new one

I don‘t think this works anymore. I tried it on like 10 magikarps and did it around 10 times each. So 100 resets in total and never got even a 2 star magikarp (pink, grey one, …)
Edit: and yes i with trainer rank 50 or so i can get rare skins.. got some without reseting

After that i was about to pick a so old rod but the other one was facing on the other direction so i picked that cuz i knew it was ditto then i went to fish a magikarp again but it was longer then i was surprised because i caught a shiny magikarp! NyanNyan KittyCat nope! You'll still be able to catch a shiny just not the rares! So you'll only see one sweat bubble or three sweat bubbles.

Hey, I want to know, when I caught my ditto one of the rods were facing the other way. Anyone knows why?
Umar Nasrudin Dittos can only be caught with a backwards rod. This is a reference to ditto being able to have the hidden ability “imposter” like the imposter rod brings the hidden easter egg of ditto.

My first one's max level wwas very low as well I haven't had any more ever sience and those ones that were pink and stuff I haven't had your I have ihave only had one evolving once , I hope it will happen again .
Get this I am soft resetting for my first golden and I get the ditto magikarp and I am exited so I just take a magikarp to check it out AND IT COSTS 550 freaking gems. Where am I supposed to get that I can't even save up 250. I get a rare thing and it is just a new expense?! If anyone knows a cheat for how to get gem please tell me.
