► Can you beat Pokemon Red and Blue with only a Missingno? In this silly challenge video, I will attempt to beat Pokemon Red version using the most famous glitch Pokemon of all time. Missingno is a dual-type Bird/Normal glitch Pokemon in Pokemon Red and Blue, and has many weird effects on your game. It can corrupt your Hall Of Fame data, glitch out the graphics, and even duplicate your items - but can it defeat Pokemon Red all by itself? Lets find out!
► Welcome to PokeTips! I'm your number one source for all things Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon on the Nintendo Switch and Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee news! I’m just imagining little youngster Joey sending out a rattata and then staring into the eyes of God as this stranger sends out corrupted reality.
Meanwhile the Rattata is just dust from getting punched by missingno.

The fact the player sprite also starts tearing apart makes me think everyone just sees Red existing as this formless mass still shouting commands between dimensions at their corrupted mon.

I love how MISSINGNO requires a lot of EXP to level up at the start. But when they get high up, they require less.
missingno is a mastermind lol
Actually, no, it's not that it requires less.
Its experience formula is "33*n^2 + 155*n - 80". If you substract the difference of experience required between one level and the other, the result is ALWAYS 66 (this does not happen with real experience groups thanks to the cubic coefficient that, for MissingNo., it's 0).
So it requires a very high amount of experience at first (in fact, it only begins to outpace the Slow experience group at level 20), but the requirement increases so slowly that leveling up gets "faster" as you progress in the game, as those extra 66 experience points to move to the next level make virtually no difference.
For those that remember some Calculus:
- "33*n^2 + 155*n - 80" gives you the total experience points at level N.
- The first derivative, "66*n + 155", gives you the amount of experience required to go from level N to level N+1.
- The second derivative, "66", gives you how much the required experience grows between level N and level N+1.

For reasons, instead of flying, I think missingno. glitches itself into the shape of a door, in which its trainer walks through to their desired location.

things were never the same with red after he found that…thing.
he distanced himself from everyone else, only wanting to be with it.
he barely even used his other pokémon, going so far as to quit a battle when it fainted.
the creature bent reality to its will, sending whatever it touched into a distorted state not unlike its own.
no one dared question red and his creature as he went though kanto, leaving corruption in his path.
as he stood attempting to fight me for the role of champion,i tried to reason with him.
“you’ve destroyed the entire region! cant you see you’ve only brought suffering to everyone you’ve challenged?”
he just stared at me with that creature on his shoulder.even though it had no face,i could tell it was glaring at me too.
“red..we don’t have to do this..we can find some way to fix this..we don’t have to fight.”
but i could already tell there was no way to reason with him.
he was already too far gone.

20:25 Fun fact: Swift will still never miss in the English gen 1 games, as it bypasses the accuracy check and cannot be impacted by the 1/256 miss glitch, thereby rendering it the only true 100% accurate move in gen 1.
It is, however, susceptible to the 1/256 miss glitch in all the Japanese versions of the gen 1 games, including Yellow, apparently, which seems pretty odd. But that's what Bulbapedia says, and that wiki is usually very reliable.
My first ever play through of yellow when I was 8 years old, I didn't know about the HM flash to light the tunnel and just thought I was supposed to go through it in complete darkness 😂 - no maps or anything just slowly bouncing off the rocks in the darkness until I miraculously made it out, lmao the amount of patience I had for stuff like that back then was astounding

@@greenherooftheinterwebz7078 Trainers: Why are our pokemon crying out so loudly
In Kanto, Red was just casually strolling through routes, looking for atleast a few shinies. But even after hours.. he had found none. He was thinking about giving up, but he didn't, he was determined to find one.
But the next minutes, Red paused his shiny expedition. He heard something.. off. He couldn't hear the sound of him walking through bushes anymore, no rustling, no wind, nothing. But he can still hear his own voice. Other than that, he heard what seemed to be unrhythmic clicking.
Curiously, Red took caution in approaching, and silently walked toward the mysterious sound. As he walked, be realized that there weren't any pokemon jumping out to attack. The clicking got louder and more unrhythmic, and there was a soft hum, a buzzing like sound.
After walking toward the sound for what seemed like forever, he had found it. But.. it wasn't a pokemon he had seen before. It was a tall, large, wyvern like entity, it resembled an Aerodactyl. But it wasn't shiny... or regular. It had no skin, no flesh, no vein, no muscle.. just complete bone. At the tips of its claws and tail were corrupted patterns, jigsaws of bits of itself. Around it, the ground and brush were also corrupted, in places and conditions impossible for it to even survive. Flickers of bits of pokémon can also be seen around it. The tail of a Squirtle, the ear of an Arcanine, the eye of a Wigglytuff, and alot more pokémon that were scattered around it.
Red was surprised at first, and thought about leaving it, but then he thought to himself.. he had found a pokémon no one.. NO ONE has seen before, not even Oak. So if he caught it, he might get famous, maybe even given a medal. He might even get more famous!
Red got low to the ground, as in an effort of a surprise attack in order to not get seen, but the moment he left cover, it was already too late, and the pokèmon had already found him.
The skeleton snapped its head back with an audible crack, staring at Red with soulless, empty eye sockets, startling Red a little. Both paused, and stared at each other, Red staying low, and the skeleton staying still. That was then the skeleton's eye sockets began to lit up with white, black, purple, and brown, mesmerizing, hypnotizing patterns.
Red staring into the skeleton's eyes made him feel.. something. He felt like he wasn't in control of his own body, and he felt lightheaded. He was scared. He wanted to run, he wanted to scream, but he couldn't do neither.
As the skeleton turned around and walked towards Red, Red felt something else different. He felt calm, he felt.. belonging. He began to forget his past, as if both him and the skeleton were always a duo.
The skeleton neared its large head towards Red's face, and Red began to relax himself, and smile. He feels his body crumbling, but that didn't matter to him. The more he stared into the skeleton's eyes, the more he felt like he was staring into the eyes of Arceus. No, like some sort of higher deity, an even more higher deity than Arceus himself. Red begins to mumble under his breath:
"Oh my goodness... you're.. so gorgeous... I couldn't imagine something... more.. perfect then you.... you're what I need... you're perfect.."
The skeleton lets out a loud, long, awful hiss, consisted of different pokemon, as if in approval, proud to find its new trainer, its new owner.
Red feels pride. He felt power, he felt an emotion he simply can't describe. that he finally found something... perfect. Even if he felt himself falling apart, even if he saw the world around him crumbling to pieces, even if he felt sick and numb, it didn't matter to him, it never did. What mattered is that he found something amazing, something.. perfect. He'll defeat everyone with his newfound partner. *After all, what pokémon can defeat something perfect and powerful like it?*

Imagine you are red and after capturing that weird glitchy pokemom you start to deform and now your head is on your feet
“Rattata is a fast and strong Pokémon.” That is a statement I never thought I would hear..

Fissure does have like 30 accuracy, but in Gen 1, fissure was based on speed so since Missingno is faster, Rhydon can’t hit you with fissure.

Missingno is powerful enough to corrupt every surrounding trainer and Pokemon, but weak enough to be beaten by ekans.
Imagine how this looks like
A young trainer finds a fissure in reality on the shape of a pokémon that should and does not exist; One with a type discarded from reality, carrying an ability it should not be able to know, being massive, undefined to the eyes of even the Universe and just a 2dimensional static composed of residue the world compulsed into a never stable entity.
Being the newbiest newbie to ever newbie, the young trainer fails to see the wrong on it and treats it like yet another pokémon, giving it a regular encounter that ends up on him deciding to keep it just because it's cool. The pokéball it is captured in is now an anomaly on itself, and once used, this pokémon seems to have a natural ability you don't need to even ask for (Or can avoid using) where the battleground's aspect is completelly deformed and cropped in a way where only MissingNo seems to know what's going on around him. Good side is as much as everything seems distorted, nothing is being harmed (Out of mere moderation on using him, not because it can't happen).
Of course, this young trainer has his own set of pokémon, but when he's cornered, he remembers the crack on space but not time he's stuffed into a ball... Scared of using it, yet willing if left choiceless
Everyone is terrified of MissingNo. Everyone but him, since he doesn't know what's going on
I wonder if the Missing number himself is aware of what happens when he’s released. And if he has a soft spot for the young trainer….

I remember fumbling blindly through Rock Tunnel because I refused to waste a move slot with Flash. So the fact that you used a map is amusing.
How your save didn't get corrupted every other minute is impressive.
Theory on why all these experianced gym leaders are using x items against you:
They have no idea WTF that thing they are fighting is. So standard RPG tactics: BUFF SELF.
That is also my tactic in pokemon but I have NEVER used x speed because I honestly didny think I needed it so I would occasionally use x attack or x defend, dunno why the gym leaders are using x speed
X speed increases speed and sometimes you get to use two attacks in a row.
But HEY, tHAT'S jUst A TheORy. a GAmE tHeoRY
Fair enough. I think I would just immediately get confused at what the heck I was seeing.

And then knock myself out because confusion is cursed.
