I did this basic build last night, except I added a two pin plug for power input and a 6 pin plug for output to lights. Posted a link to the initial demonstration video in Discord. Will be adding some toggle switches to it tomorrow and preparing a second cable for use with the taillights I'll be building next week. May do another video on it tomorrow too.
This was a awesome video , I own a 2010 Toyota Corolla and they don't come with DRL like modern cars do. I would definitely use one of these on my car.
just yesterday i was trying to slow down my LED sequential tail lights on my mustang by adding one of those resistors. instead of putting it from power to ground, i put it in line on the power. of course it didn't work. I'll put it power to ground today and see if i can make them sequence a little slower. 💪
@@flyryde it's a 95, but i have the 96 tail lights on it...I have a drake sequential kit in it for the 05 mustang which allows you to select blink speed. the slowest setting is still a little fast too, so hope the resistor slows out down another half second...or i may have to go arduino

Hello, FlyRyde I liked this video and it was informative. I decided to try out a pair of flashing brake lights but I am having some problems with them and this is my second replacement but from a different company and it's the same problem. They lights flash as described but then the lights are on the break lights especially the on on the rear brake light it flickers on its own. I attached the load resister 50w 6ohm on both sides. I bulbs that I had were from iBrightstar and now I have it from AUXLIGHT 1157. I'm not sure what to do. I am thinking of putting in the regular bulbs back in.
Good stuff. I am confused about the CF 14 flasher marked for LEDs but when wired direct to a LED it didn't flash. A load resistor was still needed. Can you elaborate why this was true?
Thank you Flyride, Have you ever wired a CF14 Relay with load resistor in an BMW E46 compact? Brake Light and Turn lights harness can you please Guide me... Please, i need your help.
I added angel lights on my car. I tested them directly to the battery and they were really bright. So i end up installing them. But i connected them directly to the headlight so that when my lights turn on halos do too but they became really dim. Not to sure why but im thinking i need some sort of relay. I added 3 halos on each headlight. Wonder if i need realy for each or 1 for 3 and anothrr for the other 3
Hey could you help me on a problem I have with some switchbacks? I run a 2013 dodge dart and I have resistors hooked into the flasher wire to eliminate hyper flash. However the message center of my car keeps telling me my parking lamp is out. More specifically when my light is switching from amber back to white. Would a 25w 8ohm resistor on my parking lamp wire fix this you think?
Hi been watching for awhile. I love doing my own light setup vs Ebay bought. Love the channel. I have questions that I havent seen you tackle yet. One is there a reason you dont use individual led chips? Two is it possible to use rgb led chip for a switchback affect?
@@flyryde I see some people using led chip with aluminum backing and powered by a driver like 3w. I have played with the leds some and have some for rear light on my GSXR, I bought rgb led cause it said red/yellow. Since I dont have much room I was going to run the in a switchback (red to stop and yellow for turn) normally I just run wire to positive/negative no problem. This one, however, has one power and three ground. I'm not sure now if it can be done now. I understand how turn light on jus not sure how, or if I can make it change back and forth. Thanks for your help 😊
Delpension what the purpose intended for going LED was... If power savings then yes. If crisper on/off, other colour light/temperature than incandescent, etc, then no... And if power savings is such a big thing, ease off the gas just a smidge, turn down the stereo a bit, take it just a easier away from stops, make sure you've got the right tire pressure. Any one of those are likely to save more...
Great stuff BUT IMHO the 10 Amp Power Supply (12volt) is just a PSU and not a proper lab PSU as it lacks; 1) no read-out of voltage or current 2) no 'front-panel' adjustment of voltage 3) no current limiting 4) no short-circuit protection
wait a sec... Am I dumb or there is a mistake here... why on earth one the thumbnail you have a foto with LED flasher together with a load resistor? that's misleading. when you use a LED Flasher (relay), you dont need a load resistor.
Do you have a contact number? I'd like to pick your brain on my 07 saab 9-3 2.0t. These cars are stupid meticulous about voltage usage with the lighting

Will the led flasher with the adjustable knob work as well??
Yup, and I should make a new version with that!
Do you need a load resistor in every bulb?
Good stuff. I am confused about the CF 14 flasher marked for LEDs but when wired direct to a LED it didn't flash. A load resistor was still needed. Can you elaborate why this was true?
Charlie Rumsfeld nope, cause i have no clue brother.
Hello, can this be done with a 9 pin flasher relay for LED hyper flashing?
Thank you Flyride, Have you ever wired a CF14 Relay with load resistor in an BMW E46 compact? Brake Light and Turn lights harness can you please Guide me... Please, i need your help.
Can i use just 1 relay for both left and right indicators?

But.....................what load resistor are you using? 4 to 6 Ohms? 30 Watts?
Kenn Mossman 6 ohm 50 watt
@@flyryde so that allows 2 Amps to be drawn, P = I^2*R which is 4 * 6 which is 24, double that (rule of thumb) and you get 50 Watts!
Thanks for the question, was wondering the same.

@@flyryde I got it bro. I'm good.
We’re can I buy all these supplies?
I know this video is old but why use a resistor wouldn't that defeat the purpose of an LED?

Convention is to 'break' the V+ or control and not ground
Kenn Mossman I’ve always preferred to break ground with kill switches rather than running extra 12v wires 😁
