1. thank you for helping me find barrel connectors, they made my life easy with these lights and boards 2. thank you for going through all that programming stuff
Got those modules and LEDs (with Lenses) already and YES, it was easy to set up and the animation was exactly what I was looking for, these are very bright and never get hot. Very stable system.
Just discovered your channel. Needless to say I think your work is spot on! I'd like to see you do something with older vehicles that use the halogen bulbs in the housings.
This is cool stuff, can you imagine changing out all the lights and add some more LEDs but then all buttons, switches, dashboard, everything on the inside of a car and I've done that multiple times in different cars but the end result is also looking really cool. I didn't have to animate the interior lights but changing the lights in those pesky buttons all over the place is very fiddly work and you can't do anything with your hands because you just can't put your fingers inside a button, and another thing to keep in mind is that you can't demolish the whole button to get the original light bulbs out, you have to do that in such a way that you can put it all together with the new LED and after you're done it still have to work for a long time without breaking that's the actual challenge but I always have a lot of fun doing it. The best part of it is when you're finished and you can look at all the work you just put into it all making it look way better. One thing that I loved is when I changed the dashboard light of my oldtimer VW Caddy, it had the original dials colored in some fluorescing orange and with my high powered blue LEDs those dials really popped out, just awesome. When I finished working on that car, changed the complete car in about 7 months in a little garage at home cutting out all the rusted panels and structural parts that were totally rotten through, made all the new panels and structural parts from sheet metal and banged it all by hand into the right shape, welded the whole car together again, pulled out the fenders to make the wheel arches bigger for bigger wheels, lowered the suspension, pretty much everything from the ground up in about 7 months all by myself and I had it just two weeks finished and on the road again and got an offer that I couldn't refuse which is getting a VW Golf Mark 2 GTI Fire and Ice Edition with a brand new motor in it and completely done for free if I gave the guy my car so we just traded our cars that same day, I couldn't believe that he did that and that I scored an almost brand new car that I loved even more and didn't have to pay a penny for it. Man, this video did bring me back to the good old times.
Very good video, I have subscribed to the sequential squad. I have been working on cars for 30 years and been messing with electronics my whole life. I have been wanting to do sequential turn signals on my M3 and thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world. I have taught many mechanics over the years but not an audience the size of yours.
This video makes me want to try modifying the LED Tail light rings in my S2 RX-8! I already do simple DIY Electronics, and your videos make it look like something I could learn to do myself!

Your lights look awesome! I'm an Army Veteran who became disabled after 2 motorcycle accidents! Have you done any for a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country? Sad that there are no custom lights for those of us forced to drive mobility vans... Wishing you all the best young man! Great videos!
What LEDs do you use? I was MINDBLOWN when you said addressable LEDs aren’t bright enough. The array I’m designing for my taillight is 140 WS2812 and that’s a solid 700 lumen at full brightness. Standard taillights are going to be closer to 400. I think I would have been more concerned that if 1 burns out it will kill the rest. That’s why I switched to WS2813 which have a backup data line so you don’t kill the entire circuit with a break.
First off great content. You mentioned in this video you would talk about factory LED circuits boards and how to bypass. Do you have a vid on this? I looked but may have missed.
Hey William, thanks dude. Just a fortified test dummy here 😬 I wish there were practical educational resources when I was learning all of this through trial and error. You either get full send Geeks that work for monster corporations as electrical engineers, or obscure craftsmen that know just enough to have an ego about it, and never share their “trade secrets” 🤦♂️. I learn more about all of this by sharing everything I know, and having that bounce back at me 10x from the hard work, questions, and insights from the community.
Hey Chris, I have a question, is it possible to connect strobe lights to brake lights and have them come on and stay on as long as you are pressing the brakes, without a controller?
So If I’m not mistaken you said you can hook up an existing module (which is already been programmed) and export it? Please do a video on that if so PLEASE!!!
Hi, I'm new to your group, great to be here, I fabricated a air dam light system like the Recon set-up for the front of my 2001 f350 dually, but would love to make it sequential, with different options, any help or info would be greatly appreciated!!!
Could you please make a video on how to cut and reattach RGB morimoto Led strips.. I know you have a video on how to do it with switchbacks but I really want to know how to get this done on Rgbs...
Your videos are great along with your knowledge. Can you help me? I am looking to add a thin led strip (probably COB) for DRL and turn signals. Not primary but just for looks. The application will be on the front splitter of 2014 Corvette. The issue is I don’t want them to be too visible when lights are off. I would like to use a black or dark diffuser to blend in with the carbon fiber. Do you have any suggestions for this set up? I’m sure you do so I hope to hear back from you, it would be great.
Will the lightening bolt you make for the gtr work for the Alpha rex headlights for an infiniti g37 coupe? If not can they be manufactured as such versus that tube? Thanks for your input
Hey there! Love the video. I am looking for a solution to put LED lighting on the OUTSIDE of my 17" Rims for my Jeep. Traditional LED strips are not flexible in the way I need.. which is to make them in a circle with the LEDs obviously facing outward. I am only using this for a Christmas Parade at very slow speed and would velcro them to my rims. I have a flat enough surface are 1" all the way around the rim to velcro. I would power them by 12V or 24V Lithium Battery / Holder that I can zip tie to my rim. Is there such a solution off the shelf or is it something that you can make?
hey I think I summited this same question, I bet you guys can do these but I haven't seen it ,in none of these videos . these lights from the Avalon as the light turns on goes of sequential . please do something like that.
Hi I'm living in the Caribbean and definitely don't have anyone like you who does these lights on cars, is there some way to get these different animations without opening the light it self?
Hey I've got a question for whoever has gone this route and made custom lights, I'm interested in making my own taillights to save some money, (and in all honesty im not a huge fan of the aftermarket tail lights being sold for my car) would it make sense to spend money on all tools and parts for one or two projects, or would I be better going the route of just buying aftermarket tail lights?
It depends on how many channels you want to have. The ghozt module has 28 channels individual channels. You could split the amount of LED’s you have into pairs and only use one module if you want. But if you have a lot of channels per light (like these GT-R taillights) you will have to use a module per light.
