My husband helped me put a new motor in it, but as soon as the wiring thing started he said "nope". I haven't driven the car in 3 years and the motor was in and ready a month ago, it's just been this wiring mess. Thanks to you and this video I'm going to get to drive my car, hoping, later today. I did it by using a second three position switch, on/off/Turn Signal Enable

Connecting would be B- a positive from the ignition switch with a fuse (as mentioned in the above diagram as a red wire to flasher). E would be a ground. L is connected to pin 30 (as mentioned in the above diagram in blue). Hope this helps.

    This would be GREAT in a book, like HP series books or the like. Your series is the BEST at not only showing how to do it, but parts recommendations, etc. The wiring books out there now are PURE CRAP. I bought several of them and they sucked to high heaven. Way too general and not very helpful. BTW, I am an electrical engineer. You do a excellent job explaining, without getting too far into the minutia. Might I suggest for you master class series getting to Ohm's law, Voltage, current and resistance and how that relates to electrical wiring in a automotive application, much like what you covered in previous video's without discussing voltage ,current and resistance and how it plays into the functions of the electrical circuits. Just my 2 cents worth.

      Awesome! Check out my other turn signal videos too. I have about 3 different methods of doing this. One method doesn’t need relays, but needs LED bulbs. Another method has a cool switch that also has some other cool features. Check out the link in the top pinned comment above, and you’ll see them all there.

      I like my watches like I like my coffee - Extra large. Seriously though, it’s the cheapest Apple Watch with a massive protective watch band because I destroy everything I touch. The first day I wore it I put a giant scratch across the face, wearing it working on cars like a dummy. I then found the cheapest + most protective case I could find online and hit “buy it now”. Here I am 1 year later and I haven’t broke it yet!

    I ordered most of the items on the list in the video description and received them today. Everything is fine except the 3-way SPDT switches. They are momentary switches. They are spring loaded to stay in the off position. Eventhough, Amazon lists them as momentary switches, I ordered them because you specifically wrote that they were another brand and they were not momentary. It's no big deal because it's Amazon and they have an easy return process. I just wanted to let you know so other people don't order these momentary 3-way switches expecting to get non-momentary switches.

    I am planning to add warning lights and turn signals to my horse drawn carriage for those times I need to travel along roadways. I'd like to have continuous blinking hazards lights and then turn signals for intersections. Your video looks like it will get me part way. Now I need to figure out how to add the hazard lights so they will cancel when the turn signal is employed. Thanks!!

    • @stephenweston2973
      @stephenweston2973 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easy answer... Add separate lights thru a flasher for the constant hazard then regular lights for stop and turn. This way the hazard will always be on and the lowers will be turn. The other way can be done but needs a couple relays and another flasher to make that work. Adding dedicated hazard is way easier thru a flasher.

    Great Video. This solve a lot of issues. When you have time to create another along this topic, would you address this issue. Most cars since turn signal were required and us the 1157 bulb use the dimmer filament for the tail lights and the brighter one for the brake, turn signal, and the hazard. Would you demonstrate how this could be wired. I know you said the white wire could be used for the tail light, but how would you wire to have the turn signal, brake, and hazard on the brighter filament? Thanks and I will watch in the future for another great video.

    Thanks for all your videos they are extremely helpful, especially this one as I’m currently trying to replace all my bulbs with LED’s on my Grand Wagoneer jeep.
    What I found is an LED flasher with a ground flashes faster than one without the problem I’m having is that even though I replaced my flashers the rear 1156 led bulbs for running lights at night will not work. The led 1157 for brakes work fine and so do the 1156 for backup lights and turn signals but not the side marker lights. I’ve checked the grounds and they all seem to work. It would be great to see a video on how 1156 and 1157 led bulb works different and the difference between a grounded led flasher and a non one with turn signals, brakes, backup lights and side marker lights - thanks 👍🏼

    Hi, so glad I found you. I just bought a new CFMoto Z force 950 side x side SPORT. Sport in important because that model comes with head lights, high and low beam and taillights. However, there is not a dedicated turn signal on this machine. Thus it is a SPORT model and not a street model. I Think your demo will work good for what I want. Just rear set of signal lights. So my question is : do I need to run 2 flashers or will one suffice? What gauge wire is on your setup and what amp fuse should used? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for posting this kind of info for electrical dummies like myself.
