    Not really a tip for game play, but one thing I like to do for my own realism is I like to mow and leave the grass for a few in game hours, or over night with multi day seasons before I ted or bail it, to simulate the drying time that the game does not give us. I also try to make sure rain is not in the forecast. I don't think it matters in game, but you lose quality if your hay or silage gets rained on, so I try to avoid it.

    One thing that annoys me about the SIP Favorit, is that it should be able to function as a tedder and a windrower depending on whether you have the flap fully retracted or not. For some reason in Farming Simulator it doesn't work like that, even tho a modded version of an older model on fs19 was able to reproduce that dual functionality

      oh interesting that would be neat for a starting farmer with little money.

    Bit of a shame we didn't get the low hp rake that came with FS19, it's more typical of a US farm than the windmill rowers.

    Can you pipe grass as you mow with the forage harvester directly to a trailer being pulled by it?

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, fairly sure I showed that exact setup in part 1.

    Just another tip that i've noticed so far or I just don't understand one of the two. Is that say you mow all your grass and forage collect it and deposit it into a pile then go through it with a tedder. It will NOT turn into straw. I waited an in game year and it is still just grass so it probably has to be thin lines and flipped.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Grass will not turn into straw grass changes to hay once its run with a tedder. Straw comes from harvesting wheat, barley, oats and leaving a windrow behind the harvester.

    I'm having an issue with the largest tedder, the Pottinger big boy tedder. I have to make 2 passes because it always leaves grass unturned. Kinda ridiculous for the most expensive tedder to not be more effective

      Not sure other than maybe its ground that is not very flat and as such the large tedder can not conform to the terrain.

      @@FarmerKlein perhaps but it's a pretty level field 🤷 gonna try that front mower tedder combo instead. That looks like a better deal

    How many times do I have to Tedder the grass? I teddered it once and sold the bails but it only filled up 3% of a contract but I sold the whole field in one go.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ted once to convert grass to hay. if you were on a mod map maybe the contract was bugged.

    So why exactly should i make hay rahter then just bale/collect grass? considering starting sheep but i dont see why i should do the extra work for hay.

    • @awsomef2004
      @awsomef2004 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cows need hay

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      IF your only doing sheep then ya no real reason. One might be for realism. IRL Grass bales are a massive fire hazard as the mosture in the grass when the bale is tightly packed will cause heat to the point that the bale can spontaneously combust. Many a barn fire has occurred from to damp hay being put away. Hay is also significantly lighter so its easier to handle and transport. But as far as the base game is concerned and sheep there is zero difference.

    • @pino_de_vogel
      @pino_de_vogel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FarmerKlein interesting you'd expect hay to be a bigger hazzard as its very dry.
      Guess theres hoping they make AI workers capable of doing these tedious jobs soon but seeing they didn't for year i doubt it.

      Do not cultivate or plow before you are ready toseed in the same month. just harvest and potentially collect straw and then let the field idle till you are in the seed month and then cultivate/pow and seed/fertilize
