  • FS22 - ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO GRASS YIELD
    Today, I take a look at how to maximise yield on all grass types in FS22. Meadow grass, seeded or field grass and even your grass margins. I'll look at grass care and explain how you can maximise each grass yield and how they compare. So join me on FS22 Haut Beyleron and Erlengrat to see how I got on.
    Don't forget to like and subscribe. It is very much appreciated. Thank you.

      You should try the all in one mower to loaded wrapped bail
      There is a modded kuan mower not trailer
      It has a rear hitch and PTO
      Then connect the modded kuan bailer with hitch extension
      Then a front hitch adapter (mod)
      And then a kuan mod wrapper with hitch
      And any auto bail loader with the pick up on the correct side
      Using flatbed loaders with no physical pick up means you can have multiple trailers behind all self loading.
      The attachments and hitches are staggered to leave the bail in a straight line from the bailer to the wrapper to the trailer fully loaded
      Its a mare to set up but folded up it's easy to get around
      I tend to do contracts on the way to the sell point I drop the rig and only grab the trailer once at the first point I am passing on return but it's not that necessary depending on the map and sell point

    There are farmers that mow the margins before harvest to help keep the grass out of it. I've seen it mostly on the no till farms

    • @FarmSimGamer
      @FarmSimGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Derrick. Yes they do. Done some myself. As you say, it helps keep the grass out of the edge of the crop, and stops it getting wrapped around the reel. Farmers tend to use those margins to drive along as well, to keep of the fields as it limits ground compaction. So they cut the margins to assist with that.

    I thought the seeded grass would come out on top, because you can maximise the yield bonus but it was good to see the meadow grass was not far behind! I hope future maps have meadow grass fields as well, so you have the option. Good video and thanks for doing this as must have taken a bit of time.

    I always cut the verge when cutting grass, as even on a small field, it can give you just enough to get 1 extra bail from the bailer. This equates to money. Bigger fields can give a number of bails for a fair bonus even with contracts.
    Also, with contracts, if there's several same harvests close by, I do all of them together with their verges adding the excess grass from each field together. This can be a real healthy bonus..

    Pretty sure that if you roll right after the cut it gives you the 100% fertilisation rate; no need for solid/liquid fertiliser.

    • @FarmSimGamer
      @FarmSimGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hi Chaz. You are right. The rolling does give you an extra fert state - so 50%, which makes the total 100% fertilisation. You get 50% fert state from just cutting the grass. Hmmm 🤔 Weird, I ran my own test on the differences between seeded grass growth stages and had significant differences in results.
    My test strip was 98% bonus 100% fertilized according to field info.
    Cut 1, at the first status "ready to harvest" yielded 9206L
    Cut 2, at the second status "ready to harvest" (i.e. +1mo) yielded 15349L
    After cutting the grass I immediately roll, gets it straight back up to 100% feet state. No actual fertilizer required.
    Either way, thanks for all your efforts. But I do think there is quite a difference between both "ready to harvest" states. I prefer to wait to full maturity.

      I did not do a cut on the first "ready to harvest" state as I only wanted to compare maximum yield (full maturity) to the meadow grass. The most interesting thing for me as well was the fact that the Yield Bonus percentages were not being met!!

    In a current Elm Creek game I'm playing, I bought the little plot of land under field 11. I'm debating on whether or not I want to plow a field and plant sown grass or just keep it as "meadow" field (even though there is no field info for the land). I plan to eventually put in a production point, or maybe even a cattle pasture in at some point, but I don't want the land to go to waste until then.
    Do you know if "map grass" (or in this case, Margin Grass), could be just as good as sown grass in this circumstance? Also, what about the "Meadow Grass" under landscaping plants? Would that be able to get harvested, should I decide to use it in areas for decoration?

    • @FarmSimGamer
      @FarmSimGamer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sown grass will yield better than margin or existing grass. But you need to cultivate and seed it. The meadow grass in landscaping cost a fortune to paint on the land, so not that beneficial! Sorry for late reply. Hardly played the game in months!!

    @josephanderson3451 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a question, when the map says the grass is ready to harvest, it seems like there is another growth state the day after... where the grass turns a slight bit brownish. Does this give a better yield or is it better to harvest immediately when the map says it's ready to harvest?

    • @josephanderson3451
      @josephanderson3451 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm talking seeded grass here.

    • @FarmSimGamer
      @FarmSimGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For the seeded grass, it is basically saying you can harvest after stage two growth - which is a calendar month. If only playing one day per month, then just a day. However, the third stage growth has grown even more, and so will give you additional yield as the grass is longer. If you watch in my video, you will see I fast forward through the growth stages and you can see the physical change in the grass state. It is also the same for the Meadow Grass, however that has four growth stages and so you need an extra month to reach maximum yield. I hope I have explained that clearly. 👍 Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
