Most of the vids I’ve watched have sewing involved. Hardly any of them were specifically for a large sectional. My couch doesn’t have removable cushions, (it was given to me), so now I’m stuck 😏. I can’t stand the dark brown dated color, although it was new; so watching your vid gave me some inspiration. Thank you!
You can likely try tucking the drop cloth into the folds of the cushion or even pinning with fabric pins underneath. You might have to adjust the fabric daily but I still think it’s worth it. Changing the color of my couch made the room look totally different. Good luck with your couch!
Thank you for posting this. I was about to get rid of a 2 sofas because I wanted a change. I purchased the 2 drop cloth I needed to wash and put on and they looked beautiful many blessings and please continue to help us save money.
I have an L shaped sectional. I bought quilted covers and I just hate the way they look. I love a light, airy, cottage vibe. This is the perfect solution! Just subscribed. Great video.
Hi Joni! That’s so funny, I did the same exact thing before finding this solution. I hated that quilted look! These have held up nicely and I have not had to change them out at all. Good luck!! I hope you love your “new” couch now 🙌
Great idea, I love it! I have been thinking of covering my sectional. I have explored getting a cover from Benz but I am not willing to pay so much. Great option. Thanks for sharing.
They are so expensive!! This is still on my couch and it works awesome! You can even remove the panels to wash if you need too and replacing is cheap! I hope you try it out. Good luck! 🍀
Come on kids, help Mom tuck in the couch cover 🤣LOL I could hear myself saying that after the whole family was on it! Love this idea I am going to do a test run with a large white blanket.
LOL!!! Yes for sure! I do tuck it once a day but it’s not too bad. A large white blanket would work too! I tried that first but I didn’t find a large enough one to fit the sectional side. Good luck with redoing your couch either way. It’s so fun to have a new look 🙌
We tried this, but had to go back to our original couch the way it is. #1, our dogs' hair (2 dogs) stick to this material like a magnet, and it's hard to vacuum off. #2, the drop cloths are too big for our washer (dryer is okay for them), so we had to go to a public laundromat and use their "commercial" machine. #3, as people sat on the furniture with these covers, they ended up shifting & moving so much so, that they tore at certain corners where we pinned them. The finished product looks really pretty; that's why we wanted this look. It's just not practical for us. Wish it was. We donated them to the paint store nearby.
It works so well! I am sitting on mine as we speak! It still looks great and I haven’t had to replace any of the fabric. Enjoy your “new” couch!! Thank you for watching 😃
@@aquaintlife How did you wash yours? Did you put them in delicate cycle? Did you use bleach and fabric softener? I’m curious because in another video someone soaked them in bleach water but I’m wondering if that will stiffen the material instead of making it soft.
Subscribed! Thanks so much. Do you have to redo it often? I am looking into options to cover our second hand couch and I remember my parents putting a cloth over our couch and it was a challenge for it to stay in the right place. (They didn t pin it in place though so maybe that is the solution).
Hi there! Welcome! I do straighten it out every so often. It takes just a minute to do but it doesn’t come completely undone or anything like that. So I can sit over and over on it and get up and it looks fine throughout the day. I don’t have it pinned now, just tucked works fine. I think it’s all about finding the right place to lay the fabric to where you can cover the area and still have a place to fold in the fabric to hold. I do recommend washing it first cause that really softened the fabric and it was easier to work with. Hope that helps! Good luck with your couch project 🙌
I love navy! I am sure you can possibly use fabric dye since these are cotton. Let me know if you do! I would love a way to switch up the color. Thank you for watching!
Does drop cloth come on different colors? I too have a sectional that I want to cover however it is a little bigger than yours and will cost a fortune to buy slip covers for...ugh
It doesn’t but you can dye it pretty easily. You would need a bucket and I would do it outside. You can also bleach them so that they are more white as well. I am sure you can find a tutorial for dying them online. And yes they cost a small fortune! That’s exactly why I went this route. They are still holding up and look great!
Hello! Sorry for the delay, I am just seeing your comment. Its 100% cotton so they are washable and I have since stained one of the panels but it was super cheap to replace. I will warn you though, with 5 kiddos you will likely need to retuck it throughout the day. I do. this once in the morning but theres just the two of us. Hope this helps and good luck!

Oh, I am so glad it worked out! Mine is still looking great all these many months later too. Enjoy! 💕

So happy I found your video!! I have this exact same couch 🎉👍 Plus, I have a bunch of drop cloths we never used -- can't wait to try this out🙂🌺
Mines still in good condition! Love that I can wash it when I need too. Good luck!! 🙌

Oh no!!! We don't have doggies but I can see that being a total issue. Mine still has held up crazy enough. I am sorry this didn't work out for you.
Looks really comfy. Thanks for sharing
The fabric is super comfy 🥰 Thank you for watching! 🌸💕
I love it! Thank you for the idea! I can’t wait to do this to my couches! 😊

Thank you Kennitha! And it’s still holding up perfectly after all these months 🙌❤️

Super easy right!? I love my “new” couch 😃.
does the fabric rough for skins to seat on?
No not at all. This is 100% cotton so it’s actually quite soft especially after you wash it which I recommend doing before putting it on.

@@Twinnisha no problem at all. Good luck with your project 😊
Thank you!! Doing this asap!
I hope it turns out well! Just remember you may need to retuck a few times to get it right 🙌
The music was a bit loud great job
Oh no! Sorry about that. Thank you for letting me know.
You can use a steamer to smooth it out.
Yes good idea! I actually have one but for me the wrinkles aren’t very noticeable. It just feels super cozy after being washed.
It does look very comfortable. I like the way it looks with your rug.
@@KattEyl thank you!
Does the drop cloth fabric stain easily? ....I have 5 kids..... Lol😂
