You can tell how proud he is of that boat. Good stuff man. That rip down the river looks so damn fun idc I want a ride. It's like the water version of doing 60mph through trees on a dirtbike 😂 🤙
I have great respect for the people who build and operate these Thai Longtail Boats. Possibly they never went to school to be engineers or pilots, but sure they did an excellent job. Hat off from USA.
I just recently learned about why seaplanes have a step in their hulls and it looks like that Thai riverboat has it as well. When a boat or plane accelerates through water the front end lifts and the rear get pushed down with increases hydrodynamic drag. This drag makes it difficult for planes to gain enough speed to take off so there is a step in the hull that the plane can pitch forward on and ride on and since there is less surface area there is less drag and more speed. I think when these riverboats dig the propeller deeper into the water it pushes the rear of the boat up and then you only have two smaller points where the hull is contacting the water and it can gain speed. That has got to feel sketchy as hell since you are basically a giant skipping stone
Those water plants are invasive species. They're actually from Java, Indonesia. Just around 150 years back one of our princes had them in his palace ponds for decoration. But to his unawareness Thailand's occasional great flood in Bangkok had set loose these invasive plants into our canals and rivers. They spread all over central region of Thailand till today. Our ecosystem had perfectly adapted to welcome them. But our original visuals of freshwaters had gone forever.
Your first thai riverboat was what made me subscribed to your channel. It's amazing how this channel has grown so much and your hard work and constantly making amazing content keeps you growing. Your first few videos on these made me want to build a spiced up longtail like these. I finally built one last summer.
