Thank you for making this video. I saw the video you mentioned, but it was too dark to be able to figure out what the guy was doing. Then I saw your comment that you had made a clearer video. I'm going to try this on my daughter's mom's Journey this week. Thanks again.
If you hear a light click but it doesn't start until you put it in neutral then back in park its probably the Range Sensor or transmission linkage cable.
If you need to do all this you should have also have used some dielectric grease or some battery corrosion spray to keep rust and or corrosion from happening again
I have the same issue with our 2010 Dodge JOurney. One thing I need to clarify; you made a mention about the car alarm going off when you do this, like when and if the negative cable comes in contact with that ground/negative terminal. That's been another persistent problem with this Journey; the car alarm has gone off many times without any apparent cause in the 7 yrs. we've had the car. If the alarm starts while you're doing this, how do you turn it off? Will putting the key fob in the ignition still do it, or is there some other way for this scenario? I would really, just like yourself, like to solve at least this intermmittent refusal to start. Thanks for any more tips you could send me to end this problem.
Yea when I touched that negative terminal it actually fried the stock radio. It's just too much of a pain to unhook the battery. I made another video on these it should be linked in the description. I took off the negative post for the starter on the block. Cleaned it with a wire brush then added the ground cable on the same bolt as the starter. It turned out the starter wasn't getting enough ground. In this video I just added the extra ground to a blank spot on the engine block.
Turning the key to the on position then moving the gear from park to neutral back to park if the only way its starting now. More then likely it needs a new range sensor and trans linkage cable.
I did. Multiple times. Even changed the ground cable. It's either the range sensor or the transmission Link cable. When it acts up moving it into neutral then back into Park gets it to start. Going to have my dad change the link cable when the snow goes away.
Did it turn over r just a click cause that all that my suv does just click and just got a new battery and still just clicks no lights r anything do I think this will help
It's the range sensor inside the transmission. Usually turning the key to on then shifting from neutral to back into park gets it to start. The no lights thing is something else possibly a fuse.
In most cases it's the rang sensor and the transmission linkage cable that needs to be replaced. A way of knowing this is by putting the car in neutral then wiggle it back into park the try starting. If that gets it to start its the range sensor and link cable.
@@OzonebxGaming and if it doesn’t start then what’s happening? I have warranty on the car, I want to make sure my dealer knows all this so we can tackle everything
Its the starter ground wire. I made a video about it today. That has fixed it. Even if it comes back I know this would stop it. th-cam.com/video/89jxEh12WPQ/w-d-xo.html

@@OzonebxGaming where are those located?
One more electrical problem I’m gonna use the car for a boat mooring.

Great informan i will try this i have nothing to loose thanks😮
Best of luck!
Friend of mine is trying to find engine harness for his Dodge Journey 2010.
Did you mean the wiring harness?

Besure to use die electrical. Grease. On the spot. You. Grindeded. Or it will rust up just in a few days or you will be back to square one
Thanks I hope it works I hate this car so much now

i took care of the problem couldnt find a dealer to fix it so I SOLD THE CAR
😂😂😂
why couldn't you just clean the ground connection? I think the key fob could also be a problem

Turned out to be the starter ground connection/wire.

Is this solution still valid???
