    Thank you very much for the information. Is it a good idea to plant a few seeds into an actual pot and grow it into a mature plant and harvest the additional seeds then? I think that would be a good way to save additional money and further increase self-reliance.

    • @squange20
      @squange20 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would need to sow seeds into small seedling pots, and when they are about three inches high, transplant into bigger pots (using potting soil and fertiliser) or into a prepared garden bed (weed free, dug out with good soil and fertiliser added). And of course the bigger plants need to be watered and fed regularly. So, if you have a small space or live in an apartment, micro greens are great to grow on a regular basis.

      If the trays sit in a warm or humid room, no need to cover, but in a cool room it will help if you place a plastic bag on them until they germinate, and then remove the bag. They need light at all times but not direct sunlight.

    Some people on the internet suggest covering the seeds in the soil with a cover and leaving them in darkness? I'm confused now. You did not cover yours and left them in the sunnlight. Is that what I should do?

    • @marianamunoz6075
      @marianamunoz6075 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My mom mentioned the same thing to me when she came over Sunday and saw my sprouting trays on my counter by the window!
      She said, “you should put them in the dark or they won’t grow!” Well I didn’t move them! Ha!
      & I only wish you could see how beautiful they are now. I started soaking them Saturday night so it’s day 5 today and they are r-e-a-d-y!
      I’m giving them just 1 more day though!!!
      I also didn’t cover except one day because it was extra dry in my house

    • @brockdelorenzo7505
      @brockdelorenzo7505 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the seed. Some need to be pressed down so the roots go south. They will grow either way. Being in the dark will make them get taller-seeking light. I cover mine for 3-4 days

    • @squange20
      @squange20 ปีที่แล้ว

      That will be for when you try to germinate seeds to grow outdoors. For micro greens, place the trays on a table or windowsill where there’s light but not direct sunlight.
