I just bought this grill yesterday for our small family. I have a large version that is big enough to cook for a large crowd but don't want to drag it out of the garage every time I want to grill a couple of burgers or dogs and a few veggies. I was thrilled with the cast iron grate and the ash door. This video has me thinking of all kinds of new possibilities. Thank you so much. LOVE IT!!!

I have a question, how can i clean this grill grates? Before and after every use.
    Thank you. so much.

Hi Adris. Thanks for watching! You would clean the grill grates just like any other grill grates. Typically when cool with a stiff bristle brush. Thanks.

First of all I love all your videos. You have some fun bloopers, up to 1:20 you have stuff on the left, then it's gone, then at 1:47 BAM they're back. Then things vanish throughout the rest of the video. Editing right? I choose to believe you're a wizard, All your videos are great I use a lot of what you present. I send a lot of people to your channel.

I just got an even embers tabletop grill from a tractor supply for $40 on sale. I wish they had one of these. 20 extra for an ash drawer would be worth it.

It would be useful to know the length of the expanded metal required. Longer dimension looks like about 17 inches?
That would also be about the same size as the grill area (the "262 Square inch total cooking area" includes the warming rack). IMO, I'd rather have 300-series stainless grates.

The Expanded Metal shows to be 12" x 24", this is located at the video timeline of 13:23 and/or go Full screen view (by pressing the 'f' letter on your keyboard) , now look at the top edge of the package, it show the 12 x 24. Depress the 'f' letter again again & go back to normal view mode.
      Hope this has been helpful.

The grill looks great and would love to use charcoal but out west June or July they shut down the use of charcoal and campfires so we have to us gas to cook with

Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! Gotcha, my son lives out in California and has the same problem. Maybe use a smoking tube and some pellets to get that smoky flavor. That's what I do on my gasser. Thank for taking time to comment!

I bought this and the plastic on the side vents literally melted off. I used it a few times and thing started to fall apart. I wanna love it but I found because the charcoals were so close to the actual grill rack that it was hard to control the heat for certain food items. Yes the charcoal fell right into the ash tray just when they were at the perfect temperature. Great idea but poor design.

    • @NextWithDave

Hello Teo. I'm sorry to hear you had a problem with the grill. The grill had a 4.2 out of 5 rating with many great and a few not so great comments on the Walmart website. I did anticipate that the coals might be too close to the grid and might fall through the grate and that's why I suggested the expanded steel solution. Too bad you have to modify a new grill but sometimes it works better when you do. As too the plastic melting, I'm not sur where you mean but hopefully it does not affect the performance of the grill. Overall, I suggest you contact Walmart customer service directly or maybe just return it if you are dissatisfied. Thanks for watching and expecially for taking time to comment. Please also comment on the Walmart website as that is where most people will look when trying to decide if they should buy the grill. Thanks again and good luck.
