@@CampusautoCo Greetings from the eastern shore of Maryland. Just came across your great video while researching tires. My 2013 Nissan Murano AWD, model SL is due for a set of new tires. If you have the time please share your recommendation for my vehicle, OEM tire size is 235/65R18. THANK YOU!
One of the best informative videos I’ve ever watched. He wasn’t biased or trying to sell you either way. Used his experience and knowledge to give you multiple options depending on your budget and truck size. Well done Sir!
I just got my first set of Continental HT XL tires n my 2021 Toyota Tundra Platinum Crew Max. I had these tires installed in the middle of a snow storm. On my way in with my OEM Bridgestone Duelers HL’S. These tires are unbelievable, when I went in I had to be in 4x4 we got 12” today of wet heavy snow in Iowa. When I left the tire store I wanted to test these new ones out. I left in two wheel drive and never needed 4wd after. They stopped like I was on dry pavement while on 100% snow and ice covered roads. I run Blizzacks on my wife’s car that are a 100% snow rate tire. These perform just as well as an all season on my Tundra. I have never been happier and more impressed with a tire in my life and this is just a highway tire. What amazing tires.
I bought the Continental Terrain Contact HT last week for my Yukon Denali 4WD. Looks great and so far drives excellent. This video helped me make my decision, thanks Matt and keep posting these kind of videos.
@@143tds Since your initial report was that the Continental TerrainContact HT drives excellent, what prompted you to note that the Michelin has a better ride? Did the Continental get worse as it wore down, or did you get a Michelin later and then feel the difference? etc.
I put the Continental terrain contact HT on my GMC sierra after watching this video. I usually go with Michelin but the Continental is a bit cheaper. So far very impressed about 12,000 miles in. Thank you for these reviews
After watching the Terrain Contact H/T dominate the competition in Wet, Dry and Snow handling over at the tire rack I decided to purchase them. Glad I did. The confidence they give in pouring rain is awesome. Did great last winter in light snow.
Nice! I’m not into HT tires because they are too focused on highway diving. but Continental makes amazing tires. I just picked up a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 which are true 4 season tires DWS stands for Dry Wet Snow so apparently they do well in the snow too. But they are fantastic so far but it being summer only gotten to test dry and wet and both have been nothing short of amazing. My last set of tires were Michelin pilot sport I forget exact series, I wasn’t as impressed with them as some people are. Yea great summer tires but heavy wet conditions like massive downpours with lot of water on the road, they didn’t live up to the hype many reviewers spoke of and worthless in snow storms I had to actually make an emergency tire purchase last year during a snow storm because of how bad they were in the snow…
@@nspring06 no complaints about Extremecontact DWS06 as of yet.. however if your SUV is heavier and larger you will want to look for XL rated tires (extra load), I believe ExtremeContact DWS series has XL rated tires to pick from. Alternatively look for L/T grade tires (light truck) if you do a lot of hauling and towing, not sure Extremecontact comes in L/T grade however. Edit: only one word of warning about ExtremeContact DWS06, not anything bad, however they are Asymmetrical tread pattern, some people hate Asymmetrical tires for some reason.. this just means there is an inside and outside tire wall you have to be mindful of when mounting them on the rims one side is marked for outside and that side has to face out or it throws off your handling and messes with your alignment. but they can be rotated to any 4 corners as normally after mounted.. Asymmetrical tread patterns typically provide the best grip in adverse road conditions or extreme handling situations.
I bought a set of Michellin Defender tires for a 2017 Nissan Sentra years ago and they lasted a little over 90,000 miles. They tend to be quiet and smooth on the freeway. I was surprised at how long they lasted so I got another set of the same tires again. Although it's an expensive investment at the beginning it's still a good choice.
@@Arellanog123 maybe I'm an exception as I've had 3 sets of wrangler duratracs between 2 vehicles one set has 85000 and the 2 on the other truck first set was the original factory installed duratracs were replaced at 68000 and the second set currently has 59000 and still has a little over half tread left
Great review and side by side comparison! Really helpful that you methodically covered each tire and it’s best features with comments on best applications.
I've watched a lot of tire videos lately and this one is by far the best. I have watched it about 10 times to glean as much information as I can from it. Thanks!😊
Just replaced stock Michelins on my 2015 Grand Cherokee today. Was going to go with the Michelin Defender LTX but my tire guy put me on the Continental TerrainContact H/T. Haven't put a lot of miles on them, but they seem excellent thus far. I keep reading and hearing great things about them, found this video after I'd already had them put on lol. Have always felt General is a very under rated tire. I had Grabber AT's on a previous Jeep and absolutely loved them.
Only in USA can a fat guy talking about tires be seen as interesting. No testing,no measuring,no data, just opinions based on-what? Now go check "tyre reviewes" chanel.
The terrain contact ht has some of the best traction in wet condition. My f250 was almost dangerous on wet pavement but the Terri’s. Contact solved this problem
My completely stock (no rear locker) F150 XLT came with these Continentals. I would’ve never bought the Conti’s, but I WILL buy them again. I’m guessing they have about 35-40,000 miles on them, I’ve put 25,000 miles on them in 12 months. Lots of city & highway. Extremely quiet & smooth. Even wear. Excellent in the heavy rain. Last week I was traveling at 80mph in the rain with the cruise on… no problem. Great in the snow (deep & packed) with no sand bags. Very good in the mud. *I hunted these tires every weekend this last season. I drove through 12” deep drifts & snow filled ditches (no problems) with nothing in the bed but a 60# dog and kennel. In one feild, I thought I finally got them stuck, but realized I was in 4x2! Put it in 4x4, then drove right out. I’ve taken them down muddy minimum maintenance/dirt roads no problem. Tow 5,000# boat very well. Never thought I’d say this, but As long as they make these, I will not be going back to AT tires. Not worth the extra noise & ride.
Matt, if you will please do a review soon in the new Michelin Agilis Crossclimate tire please. I like Michelin tires and I'm curious how this new tire is being accepted or not. Anyone else please add your comments as well. Thanks!
Thanks for the review. I have a 2000 Ram 2500 that came with Michelin's. That's what i always replaced them with and I was always happy. But the last time i decided to save a little money and went with the Yokohama's. While they gave good service i was never happy about what i considered excessive noise. I always thought i would go back to the Michelin, but since the truck is no longer a daily driver i really couldn't see spending the extra 3 to 4 hundred dollars. Just yesterday a had a set of General Grabber HTS60's installed. Very glad you hold them in such high regard. Hopefully they will give me several years of quality service.
Matt, hope all is well. I live in Chicago, IL. I drive a 2 wheel drive. 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi. I'm looking to purchase new tires. This will be my second time asking for a recommendation. On the last one, I purchased a set of Michelin Defenders for my Tahoe and I'm extremely thankful for your help. Thank you for your videos.
Purchased the Continental Terrain Contacts for my ‘22 Colorado for everyday wear. Storing the Goodyear Wranglers in the garage until it’s time to go off road! Thank you for the info and advice.

But man!! post some more videos looking foward to seeing some winter tire reviews in fall/winter season & would like to see a video on nokian at2 tire or there all weather tires . By the way iam loving my general grabbers At2 on my tocoma great tire your video helped pull the trigger on them & I glad I did!!!
Finally after countless website searches, other TH-cam a video has the two tires I'M considering for My RWD Silverado. My local tire shop sold me Cooer Discover AT3 look like mud tires the truck has more of soft bouncy ride, the Discover HY were lot better ride more of controlled.
This is my review on the tires I got from this video: Vehicle: 2001 GMC Yukon XL Tires: Continental Terrain Contact H/T Size: 265/70R17 115T Gas mileage: 11.3 Long story short: I bought new tires due to my tires being 5 years old and around corners in the rain my truck would swing depending on how sharp I took the turn. Really at any speed (I tested it out lol) It would also slide a couple feet at an emergency/hard stop. So I bought new ones before going to mammoth took em to mammoth and man these tires are grippy obviously not bulletproof but huge difference. In rain it’s great no swing with over 2klb of tools in the back or not and overall feel a lot more confidence with rain. Stopping dry or wet is a lot better as well. Highly recommend those and can’t wait to try the Michelin next time. Thank you for your great input and video I definitely feel they were worth every penny 🤝
I have a 2020 Kia Telluride, and I'm deciding which tire I have to buy. And you helped me a lot with this video. I decided to buy Michelin, I believe that because it lasts longer it will be better in the long term because it is more expensive but ends up being cheaper for the future. Thank you very much!
I’ve had the same Yokohama model tyres on my SUV for 3 years, 60,000km thus far and still going. Damn good tyre that has also done some light off-road work and hauling horse floats in outback Australia.
Great review, and you ended up right were I am, I have 13 Navigator and stuck between the Michelin and the Continental. looking for comfort, Florida so no snow but we do alot of beach sand riding... still stuck...
Very informative. I have Michelin Defender LTX/MS on my Chevy Colorado that I tow an RV with. Very satisfied with them, however I believe I'll go with the Conti TerrainContact H/T's next time. A newer design and a little easier on the pocket book.
I purchased a used Atlas just recently and am looking to downsize wheels from the stock 20s, down to a 17 with a little more cushion. Obviously that comes with having to buy tires, so here I am. I am a Continental fanboy and have put DWS06 tires on all my cars, and love the feel. This gives me some other brand options to look at, thank you!
Well here we got a dude who knows about tires, great explaining about each tire, this was great to hear and watch, thanks for a great video and a great job explaining details:)
Great review. I've run many sets of michelin's on 1 ton work vans and Honda Ridgeline ... 3 sets of Generals on a half tone 4x4 GMC work truck good in the snow and great wet weather tire
Great video as always! I would like to see you do a review on the Firestone Destination Le3. I really like them for the price but im not sure how they would be in the snow
Just ordered a set of Terraincontact HTs for my Yukon. Tire rack had them rated as one of the best for ride comfort and noise and the description said the connectors on the shoulder blocks were for noise reduction which is what I'm looking for. That plus a 70k mile treadwear warranty what more could you ask for. Hope it lives up to it's hype, really want something comfortable and quiet without compromising grip or longevity.
How do you like them? Do you just drive city/highway or did you get them for towing? I wont tow just need a good AS tire that can handle PA snow. Would love to hear how quiet and comfortable it is.
Since I purchased my F-150 new in 2015 I've been going to change the stock Goodyear tires to Michelin Defender LTX. 75000 miles later the time finally came but because of this video I went with the Continental Terrain Contact HT instead. We shall see. Getting them installed this weekend.
@@babagandu I've got 15k miles on the Continental Terrain Contact HT tires. They are awesome on wet roads. I haven't had any issues with hydroplaning even at 80 mph. I don't really do any off-road driving to speak of. I don't have any road noise with them either. I am very pleased with my choice and have zero regrets.
I have the Deffender LTX right now, but I think I'm going to go with the Continental, I like that it looks a newer tire and also the sidewall will help a little bit when I have to go off road. I have been very happy with the Michelin and some part of me doesnt to look somwhere else, but I think I gonna give the Continental a try on my ram. Thank you for thte video
Did you ever change tires? I'm looking at both of these right now and can't decide. I like the look of the continental better, but want ride quality. Any feedback is appreciated
@Nick N Yes I did changed the tires, but I chose an AT tire, the Yokohama Geolandar AT G015, which is not an aggressive all terrain tire, but still help outside of the read. Compared to the Michelin Defender LTX, the G015 feels softer on the sidewalls so cornering is not as good but still very well handling. About lasting, the Defender are definitely lasting longer.
So glad I found your page I need new rubber on my f150 Your page will be priceless Looking to go different than the Michelin defender ltx I currently have.
Just got a set of Cooper Adventurer HT’s 26570r17 from Pep Boys for $507.94! That’s mounted, balanced, valve stem, disposal and tax! Great tire that makes my Escalade happy 😊 Greater price that makes me happy 😊
Thanks for the videos, I learn a lot here. I don't think the ribs on the side are for cornering or stability however. Continental and others refer to those as sound barriers, or noise blockers. The Michelin does not use this technology. I prefer the Michelin for this, as I just feel there could be more mud and snow traction without those sound barriers, but I'm not sure it is a better design for traction or not. I doubt the Continental has stone ejectors. Continental sometimes puts small ribs at the bottom of the tread, they refer to them as 'traction grooves' meant to provide a bit more traction. I don't know if that would work or not, but maybe.
I had a set of XOOPERS ON MY TRUCK IN THE 80's, NEVER thought they would ware out, theyve Been my tires EVER since, more than worth The cost they save in long run
Michelin isn't what it used to be. I ran 2 sets of LTX M/S on my Expedition but they are just too expensive and the most I got was about 50k miles out of each set. What really killed Michelin for me was the Michelin Defenders on my Honda had a blow out at 80 mph on the interstate with less that 30k miles on them. The owner of the tire store told me the Defenders had been having problems so I bought Yokohama this time and so far very satisfied
Thank you! I have a Lexus GX 460 and the number one most recommended tire for them is "the old Michelin Defenders" If you read in all the forums you will see this. The problem is most new GX owners don't realize they do not make that tire anymore. Yes they technically make it still but it has been completely revised and is not the tire it use to be. If you really research it alot you will see this. I traded in my 2014 Lexus IS 350 AWD for a 2014 GX 460 about 2 years ago. It had newer Michelin tires on it that the dealership talked me into getting and they were not what I expected for what I paid. The Continental's I had on before were way better. Michelin is deff not what it use to be especially in the road noise category. They use to be the one of most quiet tires you can buy but not anymore. Anyway, What vehicle do you have the Yokohama Geolandar G056 H/T on? I think I'm going to go get a new set installed on my GX this week at Discount tire up the street from my house.
I replaced the Pirelli Scorpions on my 2014 f150 platinum @ 44K, put my 2nd set of defenders on @ 127K - mileage to date is 159,297 w/ 10/32nds... Highway driving from TX-IA.
Nice Video, I usually replace my factory tires with the Michelin's but I think I am going to try the Continentals this time just to be different. They seem to have good reviews and are cheaper, maybe look slightly better.
I had the continentals installed today, glad I went with them. The have nice look and the Rim protector is a nice feature especially if you run a lower profile tire.
@@IWBVS So far they are holding up well, finally got some good snow. Tires do good in the snow and great on wet roads, I would say better then the Michelin's. They are ever so slightly louder then the Michelin's at certain speeds but overall still pretty quiet.
I'm just about done with Coopers. Have tried everything they have that has been recommended in the last decade; True Norths, Discoverer SRX, Discoverer AT(non-LT), and one other winter and all season model I can't recall the name of... the only tire that was good was the Discoverer AT3's LT that I had on my Tacoma and couldn't seem to wear out or flatten, despite almost 100,000 km and significant rough off road (moose hunting, etc.) and other abuse. The AT3s (non-LT) on my Rav4 Trail seem to be wearing way too fast and less than 15000 km. All others have gotten slow leaks or punctures. I'm now looking to replace the Discoverer SRX's on the Highlander, which are noisier than winter tires and seem to be impossible to balance perfectly, and have a plug in two of them, with the General HTS60 as they are on sale right now for a good price in our 245/55R19 size at $192 CAD. Heading into another summer of camper towing and no longer willing to take a chance on the SRX's.
Thanks for your videos! They’re very detailed and informative. I have a 2019 expedition and wanted to know what your recommendation would be. Thanks in advance!
I just bought the Michelins (for next spring) because I knew they are good, and were readily available. I've had the Generals before and I absolutely loved them for a year or so. Awesome in rain, smooth, quiet. But after maybe 30k miles they got really noisy. To the point where I had to get rid of them. By that time, they were wearing worse too and the ride was not nearly as good. Looking forward to the Michelins in the spring. I was quite curious on trying the Firestones too because they looked promising.
i have had two sets of general grabbers on my 2014 Nissan Frontier. and still have the HTS60’s, but i may swap to another brand like Bridgestone Alenza. the original tires were BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A and they worked out great except i only got 32,000 miles. The first new set were General Grabber XTS which are great tires but there was a vibration between 60 - 80mph, so i swapped them for another set of General Grabber HTS60, and these are doing the same thing at the same speeds. While at highway speeds and applying heavy braking i can feel and hear that there is something going on with at least one tire. Sounds like a spit on a tire that is mismatched possibly the construction of the tire, and both sets of grabbers do the same. Its as if both the XTS and these HTS60 have the same defect. If it’s not the tires, which can’t be because the original BF Goodrich were fine, then what could cause this vibration 60 - 80mph and the defect during heavy breaking ? The tire store doesn’t know what is causing it. These are the original cast aluminum rims and they fit into the hubs snug onto its centers. The tires are slightly out of round but this is with all tires. I like both the Grabber model tires and i would like to keep these HTS60’s, but they have vibration at a specific highway speeds, and noise during heavy braking. Does anyone have General Grabbers with the same issue?
Glad I got my Michelin defenders on my Ram 1500, replaced the Goodyear wrangler tires at 65k with some decent tread left, but with the rain coming it was a safety decision.
I'm doing the same this week.. I have some goodyear wrangler duratrac, but they feel like they're slipping in rain. I've had the defender on sedans, but curious what your experience has been thus far on the ram 1500. Have you seen any increase in mpg, how does comfort compare and road noise?
@@Arellanog123 No increase in MPG because I average 28-30 MPG on the highway with both tires. Both tires are super quiet and they’re both very comfortable, Michelin so far has done better in rain but that’s after one day so there needs to be more time for a better accurate experience and I will see in the snow how they do coming up soon, I’ve never driven in the snow on the Goodyears and certainly didn’t want to with the little tread I had left, but I’ve heard nothing but great things of the Michelin defenders doing well in the snow. My advice is to look for a solid $150 rebate or discount deal for the Defenders shopping around. Costco had one last month but not ATM unfortunately.
@@DMalltheway I was able to get the $150 off at Sam's just a few days ago and I believe Costco starts on the 14th this Month.(we have family members that have the Costco membership, and we have sam's so we always compare). Man I wish I got your mpg lol. I'm over here struggling from 12-14mpg w/ the 5.7L Hemi. 😭😭😭. To a degree I blamed the aggressive tires, specially since they're cupping and becoming really noisy due to a bad alignment recently and pretty much all new suspension on the front end. I did love how the wranglers handled in snow, rarely had issues. But now that they're around 30k miles on them and tire life is low they're slipping in simple water. Will have to see how defenders compare.
@@Arellanog123 I have an Ecodiesel and despite the diesel costs being higher it’s still worth it with the MPG on Highway keeping the costs down, but yes a HEMI is rough on fuel mileage especially on a bad alignment. I would recommend taking the truck to a tire shop like Big O and see if they can match Sam’s Club or Costco price that way you can do a proper alignment while your getting new tires all at once since Costco doesn’t do alignment services. Also recommend using Groupon for any local tire shops if they participate, that’s how I was able to save another $65 at Big O after they matched the price at Costco and 2 of my credit cards gave me 5% back at Costco up to $20 max so I swiped with both of them to save another $40. It’s a grind, but tires are expensive.
What a great overview of all these tires! Has anyone testing the stopping distance of the Continental H/T vs. A/T? I'm considering one of these for my summer tires and might lean toward H/T if it has significantly better dry stopping distance, otherwise A/T sounds good.
Mate I'm a Aussie and live beside the beach here in Australia 🇦🇺. What is the best tyer for sand ? And a pretty rough dirt track going to the beach . Have you got a great tyre in mind for that? . Thanks for the tips and advice mate 👍
The Defender LTX are great and can make your truck feel like a BMW, but the compound behaves just the same as others as the tire ages, especially if the truck isn't garage-kept. The folks getting 70000-80000 miles never corner their truck- maybe always driving the speed limit, and maybe never have to go out in inclement weather. If you are a normal driver, especially in a zone with winter weather, you should only be expecting to get 3 years and 36000 miles...don't listen to the high mileage stories. Once they get down to 5/32nds and after 3 years of UV aging and hardening, the winter weather handling (those shoulder block sipes are gone) is done on them and it'll be time for new ones again.
Some great information! Looking for tires for my Silverado 3500 dually, looks like the General or Continental for hauling horses cross country. Thanks again!

Your review is great. Ive been knocking my brains out trying to figure out what to put on my Nissan Frontier Pro4X. I want a quiet hwy tire that wears well. Which of these would you recommend.
Excellent breakdown. I’ve got a 2002 Silverado 4x4 Z71 with 265/75/16 Michelin’s on it. I’m living in central Florida now and generally only drive paved roads anymore and haul a boat to the ramp once in a while. Didn’t want to go with Michelin’s again and was considering the Yokohama geo but saw several owner say they fell apart at 10 k some even less. when I ran across your video. Now I’m thinking Continentals. What are your thoughts. Thanks
I had a set of the cooper evolution HT put on my 06 crew cab 6.5ft F150 and I liked the ride, it was soft and quiet, but it felt like it was not enough tire for that truck and they picked up alot of rocks, I did however enjoy the wrangler tires that came on my 2010 f150 crew cab 5.5ft, could be quieter and softer but no real complaints and they took a real beating! I also enjoy my Bridgestone dueler HL tires although they do not ride as soft nor as quiet on the highway as the coopers did and are not as stout as the wrangler. Right in the middle.
Great reviews and you know your stuff thank you for all the effort taken. Looking for what your pick is with a 2011 Lexus RX350. Smooth ride is important but also long lasting tread
Been using Michilin Defenders on my current and last vehicles. 80 thou tread life ,believe it. Better ride/quiteness /fuel economy/ treads life and grip, than Goodyears or Bridgestone , I yusta use . Up here in Canada we,ve got quite a variety of weather patterns ,always felt safe with these tires ,wouldn,t buy anything else . Yup ,paid a little more ,but because they last longer, I spend less , in the long run . If you shop around ,there,s frequently a sale on these tires in the fall.Costco ? My opinion of course ,but based on experience. No ,I,m not a tire salesman ,just old and been around a while .
Would love to see this comparison again in 2023.

Ita expensive up front but they pay for themselves with how long they last. Shoot they are cheaper than the good year wranglers and last 2x as much.
Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the detail and depth of this video.. this man Thinks about tires and we have all met tire guys who don't! Big Thumbs up.
I've watched a lot of tire videos lately and this one is by far the best. I have watched it about 10 times to glean as much information as I can from it. Thanks!😊
I appreciate you watching!
Nice. You will like them.
Hey, 1 year later would you buy the continental again? I'm stuck between that and the michelin. Thanks
Great review, just ordered a set of Continental for my Tacoma 👍
Best tyre review channel on TH-cam by far, Excellent informative video's, Keep them coming.
Wow, thanks!
Only in USA can a fat guy talking about tires be seen as interesting. No testing,no measuring,no data, just opinions based on-what? Now go check "tyre reviewes" chanel.
I just ordered a set of the continentals. What an awesome informative video.. thank you
The terrain contact ht has some of the best traction in wet condition. My f250 was almost dangerous on wet pavement but the Terri’s. Contact solved this problem
Any chance you could do an update on this to include the Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT?
Got to be the best video about tires I've ever seen. Dude you clearly know ALOT about tires.
Thanks!
Excellent overview of the H/T class of tires. Thanks for sharing your experience.
You should be happy with your selection.
Great reviews love the channel . I know it's hard & time consuming owning & operating your business while maintaining a family life too . But man!! post some more videos looking foward to seeing some winter tire reviews in fall/winter season & would like to see a video on nokian at2 tire or there all weather tires . By the way iam loving my general grabbers At2 on my tocoma great tire your video helped pull the trigger on them & I glad I did!!!
Thanks 👍
My 2017 Toyota Tacoma, SR5 V6, Extended Cab calls for Yokohamas. I'm glad you like them. Great video. Really awesome presentation. Stay safe.
Finally after countless website searches, other TH-cam a video has the two tires I'M considering for My RWD Silverado. My local tire shop sold me Cooer Discover AT3 look like mud tires the truck has more of soft bouncy ride, the Discover HY were lot better ride more of controlled.
Any tire on this video would work for you. Pick one you can get a good deal on.
Could you do a more in depth comparison of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and the Conntential Terraincontact H/T?
This is my review on the tires I got from this video:
Vehicle: 2001 GMC Yukon XL
Tires: Continental Terrain Contact H/T
Size: 265/70R17 115T
Gas mileage: 11.3
Long story short:
I bought new tires due to my tires being 5 years old and around corners in the rain my truck would swing depending on how sharp I took the turn.
Well done, sir! Another awesome video! Would love to see more with your actual vehicles and what you run on them.
Thanks! Will do!
Campus Automotive Inc Cool! By the way, I just picked up a set of the General Grabber ATX based on your review! They’re so awesome!
Thank you for putting in the time to do a great video. Very helpful.
You're very welcome!
Awesome feedback. Thanks!
Great review, and you ended up right were I am, I have 13 Navigator and stuck between the Michelin and the Continental. looking for comfort, Florida so no snow but we do alot of beach sand riding... still stuck...
Try the Continental!
Very informative. I have Michelin Defender LTX/MS on my Chevy Colorado that I tow an RV with. Very satisfied with them, however I believe I'll go with the Conti TerrainContact H/T's next time. A newer design and a little easier on the pocket book.
That's the great thing about Conti. They are a premium tire with a reasonable price.
Here in Canada they are the same price
I purchased a used Atlas just recently and am looking to downsize wheels from the stock 20s, down to a 17 with a little more cushion. Obviously that comes with having to buy tires, so here I am. I am a Continental fanboy and have put DWS06 tires on all my cars, and love the feel. This gives me some other brand options to look at, thank you!
Dave from Australia …Thanks for a fantastic and interesting tire reviews
Thanks for watching!
Great review! I appreciate your honesty! You convinced me to go with Continental HT for my 99 4Runner. Go Hokies!!!
Great video! Just ordered the Yokohama tires for my 2wheel stx f150. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I was going to grab me some of those grabbers for my one ton dually ,now I know I will, Thanks great video !
Right on!
My frontier came with the general grabber stock and were worn completely down at 20k I got the geolander
Thank you for the video. You are very knowledgeable and the information is much appreciated.
I learned so much in this video. Great job. The accent helped haha
Glad you liked it!
Great video as always! I would like to see you do a review on the Firestone Destination Le3. I really like them for the price but im not sure how they would be in the snow
Noted!
Honest, and great info...really appreciate it.
Thanks for watching!
Great analysis of each tire. It was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Keep me posted.
Since I purchased my F-150 new in 2015 I've been going to change the stock Goodyear tires to Michelin Defender LTX. 75000 miles later the time finally came but because of this video I went with the Continental Terrain Contact HT instead. We shall see. Getting them installed this weekend.
Awesome. Let me know how they do.
Any updates ?
Right on!
@@victoriol Thanks for your input! Have a great day!
So glad I found your page
I need new rubber on my f150
Your page will be priceless
Looking to go different than the Michelin defender ltx I currently have.
Just got a set of Cooper Adventurer HT’s 26570r17 from Pep Boys for $507.94! That’s mounted, balanced, valve stem, disposal and tax! Great tire that makes my Escalade happy 😊 Greater price that makes me happy 😊
Nice
Good video. Straightforward and informative.
I appreciate that!
Super information Matt thanks and love the the tire reviews.
Glad you like them!
I like Michelin and my son over this past year has the Coopers and likes them so far.
Great comparison video. I'm leaning towards the Continental for my Canyon Denali
I had a set of XOOPERS ON MY TRUCK IN THE 80's, NEVER thought they would ware out, theyve Been my tires EVER since, more than worth The cost they save in long run
I was hoping he would include the Toyo HT2
Wow!
Nice Video, I usually replace my factory tires with the Michelin's but I think I am going to try the Continentals this time just to be different. They seem to have good reviews and are cheaper, maybe look slightly better.
I think you will like them.
I had the continentals installed today, glad I went with them. The have nice look and the Rim protector is a nice feature especially if you run a lower profile tire.
@@ohioguy4326 how are your tires after a few months? I'm also debating between the defender vs the continental for my tacoma
@@IWBVS So far they are holding up well, finally got some good snow. Tires do good in the snow and great on wet roads, I would say better then the Michelin's. They are ever so slightly louder then the Michelin's at certain speeds but overall still pretty quiet.
Interested in the Uniroyal Laredo HT in this lineup
Mostly due to Michelin being discontinued
235/75/15XL
Beautiful garage and nice to-the-point video
Thank you kindly!
Just found your videos and watched a few of them. I’ve not seen you compare Toyo’s in your videos.
Would have love to have seen some Bridgestone
I'm not big on Bridgestone.
Great video with straightforward explanations. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved it! Keep it coming!
Thank you! Will do!
Going with the General Grabber on my F150. Thank you.
Right on!
I have 60K on my 60K rated LE2s. RX300. still going strong. From what I hear the LE3s are even better.
They are supposed to be better.
How are the le2's in the winter.
Man thanks for the info! Had some Nexens on my 2013 Tahoe that crapped out on me. I’m sold on the Generals
Surprised you don't include the sumitomo encounter ht, hard to find anything negative about them, for us without unlimited budgets
i have had two sets of general grabbers on my 2014 Nissan Frontier. and still have the HTS60’s, but i may swap to another brand like Bridgestone Alenza.
the original tires were BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A and they worked out great except i only got 32,000 miles.
I would switch to another brand of tire.
I’ve had Destinations and Grabbers and both are great tires
Nice
Very imformative. I learned alot about tires.
Right on
Great review. Thank you!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it Yury!
Helpful, 👍 looking for new tyres for a Volvo awd that does get off the beaten track , had falken wildpeak before which I found to be quite noisy
Thanks for this video. There are not many reviews in multiple HT tyres. Would you consider doing and updated version?
Some great information! Looking for tires for my Silverado 3500 dually, looks like the General or Continental for hauling horses cross country. Thanks again!
Try the General Grabber HTS06
Wow thank you in advance for your wisdom on tires ..
I have a 1992 Ford f150 xl 4x2 ... Stock rim size 15 ... I like to load heavy stuff on the bed for work .... So I seen those michelin tire super flexible.. not what I had in mind ....what truck tire do you think is the safest for this heavy beast of steel ? Stock tire size is 235/75/15
I would just do a General Grabber ATX or something in an All Terrain on the cheap side.
Your review is great. Ive been knocking my brains out trying to figure out what to put on my Nissan Frontier Pro4X. I want a quiet hwy tire that wears well. Which of these would you recommend.
The Continental Terrain Contact AT or HT
@@CampusautoCo thx
Excellent breakdown. I’ve got a 2002 Silverado 4x4 Z71 with 265/75/16 Michelin’s on it. I’m living in central Florida now and generally only drive paved roads anymore and haul a boat to the ramp once in a while. Didn’t want to go with Michelin’s again and was considering the Yokohama geo but saw several owner say they fell apart at 10 k some even less. when I ran across your video. Now I’m thinking Continentals. What are your thoughts. Thanks
Put the Michelin's on it.
My truck has the Michelin ltx right now. I'm going to get the Yokohama yk-hdx or the general grabber hd when it's time to switch them out.
Outstanding information!! Thank you for your opinion.
Glad it was helpful!
Either the Michelin Defender TH or the Uniroyal Tiger Paw AS. Don't go with a full HT because it will hurt the ride.
I would like to see a Bridgestone in the mix
Great video.
Thanks!
