I love Gyros, we pronounce them like you or with the G! I can’t wait to make these! The very best Gyro, I ever had was at a little hole in the wall place in the University district of Seattle! Also when I lived and worked there years ago at Fred Meyer, there was a guy who worked right outside the door selling Gyros, it was the first time I ever had one, and have loved them ever since! He used to tell me I could pronounce them either way! Thanks for sharing an easy, delicious recipe!
Just looking at the tzatziki sauce makes my mouth water!! I try to follow recipes, at least the first time... but it's rare that I make the same recipe twice, because I always tweak it and substitute and improvise. When I'm cooking (not from a certain recipe) there's definitely no having the same thing twice. LOL I'm glad my husband can appreciate that about me. 😊
Can't wait to make the flat bread, we often make bannock. The only time I follow a recipe is in baking. Cooking is a 'little of this, and a little of that' lol.
I would never have thought to make it casserole style. That's brilliant!!! I have to try this. I put salt and olive oil in my Tzatziki sauce... I'm dying to also try the flat bread, yum
Leisa, that looks absolutely amazing!! Recipes? Those are merely suggestions. Kinda like measuring spoons/cups. lol I measure all of my spices with the palm of my hand. I know...I'm such a rebel! Thanks for the great vid!!
Looks delicious, I used to make the same recipe for flat bread but found it benefited greatly from 1/2 teaspoon each baking powder and baking soda, the interior was much nicer, if you make it a lot try it you might be surprised.
Aww, sure wish I could get hubby to eat these gyros. He did enjoy them when he was stationed in Turkey and also UAE. He really loved those but they had pretty much only meat and bread and little seasoning. No veggies or sauce. That is so hard for me to replicate. He's normally pretty difficult to cook for but this throws the equation all out of balance, haha. Yours sure looked scrumptious, Leisa! No matter, the next time I can get fresh cucumbers on sale I'll give it a try again until I manage to get the Thrive cucumbers on my pantry shelf.
That looks delish! I have an ugly chicken question. Are the jars supposed to be tightly packed, removing air pockets or lightly packed, not worrying about the air pockets? We debubble everything else, but now I have noticed instructions that say, "lightly pack". I'm confused! Oh Great Canning Queen, which is correct?
Wow that looks great I made the Flatbread it is awesome I was just going to wing it in my stuffing tonight left over layered chicken dish in a Flatbread I put 3 in fridge till tonight 🙃❣💖🥰 loved it with breakfast stuffing too!!!
I've always heard of them, but never tried it. After. After seeing your video I think I have to try these.. Thank you so much for showing this and godless
I intended to watch this just after watching the flatbread video. But I watched Jenni Gough's doughvember video and followed a rabbit trail. But I finally got back to where I wanted to be. Love, love Gyros, and chicken is second best for them. As I have some ugly chicken in the pantry we will definitely be trying these. I'm a bit odd about recipes and cooking (well in many other ways too.) The first time I cook something I need a recipe and I measure almost everything. After that I will tweak it to fit the family better, if need be. I just don't trust myself to wing it the first time, aside from a few small things. The funny thing is that my best dishes are meatloaf and chili, two things I fully wing. I will say I am more confident in with beef dishes than any other meat. I'm sure it's because I greatly prefer beef (or similar red meat) to any other.
I will start with the intention of following a recipe..... but I never do. Once, my hubby brought me a pb cookie recipe and asked me to follow it EXACTLY. I did. He requested I go back to doing it my way LOL.
Thank you for showing how to use ThriveLife cucumbers! I’ve been wanting to order them but wasn’t sure how to use them, (I figured the texture would be weird in salad.)
Breaking down the ingredients cost. .99lb chicken x 2, cost of the peppers and onion, cents for the cucumbers and bread. There was actually more than enough for for 4, more like 6-7 people. I'm having leftovers to.orrow...lol
That doesn't look like any Dill seed I've ever seen! I write the recipes that people follow. I have been doing it most of my life. If there was something I wasn't sure how to make I would check recipes for at least five different recipes for the same thing and then put it together how I saw fit. Usually though when I lay down at night to sleep I start thinking this sounds like it would be good with that and with this seasoning and then I used to have people over and just make untested recipes and never got a bad dinner. I never got one complaint! :-)
Well ya see I'm country and I talk flat so I say GIRo... Yes yes I know it's wrong. I also honestly say PUR DEE for pretty. I also have an uncle named Purdie ironically lol. Not that I think you meant anything derogatory by saying purdee, I can have a sense of humor about my southern Heritage and joke a tad about it. I love my southern roots I think it's Pur dee darn awesome!!!
I don’t order the meal kits. I cook our meals or occasionally get some bbq from a place just down the street or Chinese carrryout. It’s pronounced year-o
I haver ordered those "meal kits" - if you know how to cook you can make every recipe they have, and if you cook in your kitchen you probably have everthing you need.. When I tried them , nothing was bad - mediocre. I would much rather spend my money on per-curing ingredients. 🥂
I suppose this "Greek Style" version would work in a pinch, but unless we were in a survival situation, my Greek family would not eat this. Nice try, though.
Please don't kill me.... I don't know how Americans definate Gyros...... I love ugly Chicken. But this way is here a No Go.😉 Sorry Leisa, please forgive me. Frie the ugly Chicken Up, with tzaiziki and salad and it's ok.😉😁
No, it's wired in otherwise i'd move it. The kitchen remod put it in direct line of the stove and it goes off. I may have to get a different one and disconnect this.
Thank You for this recipe... Yummy yummy yummy yum 😁😁. Looks DELICIOUS Leisa 💯🙏 Kendra
You had me at ugly chicken! And gyro!
I love Gyros, we pronounce them like you or with the G! I can’t wait to make these! The very best Gyro, I ever had was at a little hole in the wall place in the University district of Seattle! I do send Hello Fresh to my son in med school and it’s very nice - I highly recommend it and he loves it bc he hates fast food.
WOW, your recipe looks AMAZING!!!!! I have got to try this Tzatiki sauce!!! Love this idea!!! Yummo!! Thanks for sharing!!
I used to follow recipes to a "T". Now, thanks to you saying "You do you," I'm now a better and more creative cook.
This looks amazing Leisa. I am not one of those people who do those meal kits. To expensive for me. Thanks for sharing.
Love Gyros, and the Tztzsiki Sauce looks great too!
Ooh! My first Thrive Life order came today, no cucumbers, though. Looks like that could be in the next one!!
Great recipe to go with the flat bread you made on the last video. And a printable version! Love it.
Yes! I’m so hungry right now and this looks so good!! It can’t get any easier than with ugly chicken. I’m gonna make it, yes I am. 😋😋😋
I love gyros! (After being in Greece and frequenting a Greek restaurant in New Orleans, I pronounce the ‘G’.) some canned roast would be amazing too!
I would never have thought to make it casserole style. That's brilliant!!!
I have to try this. I put salt and olive oil in my Tzatziki sauce...
I'm dying to also try the flat bread, yum

Looks delicious, I used to make the same recipe for flat bread but found it benefited greatly from 1/2 teaspoon each baking powder and baking soda, the interior was much nicer, if you make it a lot try it you might be surprised.

All I can say is... Yum!!
Great. It’s breakfast time and I want gyros with tzatziki!
It's never to early for gyros
That looks delish! I have an ugly chicken question. Are the jars supposed to be tightly packed, removing air pockets or lightly packed, not worrying about the air pockets? We debubble everything else, but now I have noticed instructions that say, "lightly pack". I'm confused! Oh Great Canning Queen, which is correct?

I've always heard of them, but never tried it. After. After seeing your video I think I have to try these.. Thank you so much for showing this and godless
Looks good 👍 . I made a simple saute chicken and onions . I wanted liver and onions but I'm out of liver . 🙃
Sounds great!

I have absolutely no imagination when it comes to cooking so I am a recipe cooker for sure!
I love a good recipe, but often tweak it to my taste. Thanks for sharing luv from Ontario Canada xoxo zone 5a ☕🍁💕
So happy this video popped up. A new way to use ugly chicken
Yumm yummy 😋
Oh, yum !
Looks oh so good! I have always said it with a G but proper pronunciation is yee-ro.
Yummy!
Thank you for showing how to use ThriveLife cucumbers! I’ve been wanting to order them but wasn’t sure how to use them, (I figured the texture would be weird in salad.)
You are so welcome!
Reminds me, haven't seen lamb the usual for gyros in a long time.
I just toss things in and not measure.
I used to go to a Greek restaurant and they pronounced it like you do and so do I
When making a recipe for first-time i follow it next time its a guide line the i jump to my added flavors of choice.
I was wondering, where did you get that cute olive oil bottle?
YUM I love Gyros. With a side of spanakopita
I can't find a jiggler on your store front. Am I spelling it wrong??
Thanks.

Love this!! Gotta get those freeze dried cucumbers! 😲
One question, how did you come up with $4? Thanks
Breaking down the ingredients cost.
.99lb chicken x 2, cost of the peppers and onion, cents for the cucumbers and bread. There was actually more than enough for for 4, more like 6-7 people. I'm having leftovers to.orrow...lol
Hey Leisa, i havent bothered to look into it because i was told you cant buy thrive products in Canada. Has this changed?
You can absolutely buy thrive life if you live in Canada
No lol. I do my own shopping and my own cooking!! No frivolities for us!! Love your ideas here.
Awesome! Thank you!
Yummy

Great job. The same way you pronounce it.
Thanks! 😃
Why is it called RED ONION when it is purple?
Well ya see I'm country and I talk flat so I say GIRo... Yes yes I know it's wrong. I also honestly say PUR DEE for pretty. I also have an uncle named Purdie ironically lol. Beautiful ugly chicken. LOL!
I just wing it 🤣
Greek food is the best food.

I'm sure these were amazing but no taste test????🤨
I m a dump and go
I am a loose recipe follower. Is you smoke detector old? We had to replace ours. The older it got, the more oversensitive it got. ☺️
No, it's wired in otherwise i'd move it. The kitchen remod put it in direct line of the stove and it goes off. I may have to get a different one and disconnect this.
@@SuttonsDaze So was ours. They do wear out after a while. The old one was 27 years old.
