    Great Idea! I'll be doing this next summer on a couple of stands that have seen better days. I might even put a smaller grommet in the middle of the seat to allow water to drain vs collecting in the seat.

      Thanks man! We have repaired our own tree stand seats for years and its amazing how often I can buy expensive ladder stands that just need a new seat for really cheap!

      I used to only buy ladder stands with steel mesh seats, but they are so hard on my butt after sitting for several hours. But as you know, the cloth seats are usually only good for a few years if you leave them up year around like most people do. I had to come up with a way to extend their life since I just hate throwing them away!

      Any 600 denier waterproof canvas will do very nicely

      I have a 2 man buddy stand that had mesh seats I have to replace

      Brandon, I made mine just less than twice the width of the seat and twice the depth of the seat area between the bars. That gave me room for lacing it up and also to double up the fabric.
      Doubling the fabric is optional, but I always do it.
