I can remember when Lake Wylie here in North/South Carolina was not built up all the land was owned by Duke Power and there wasn't but just a very few cabins around the lake. Of course when Duke power started selling the property it didn't take long and houses sprung up everywhere. Beautiful there Justin thank you for sharing...

i wish when i was 14 i soaked it in more. the memories and time with my uncle dave. he was like a fishing pro in my eyes. i look back and wish i could have payed attention better for the memories. i want to fish as good as him nowdays, im 33 now.
It's pretty cool the way that bluegill act when they take your bait I am going to get a cricket trap and use crickets as bait this year I once used grasshoppers and caught a 2 lb largemouth bass several years ago

It is very cool watching you catch perch under same bridge that I grew up perch fishing at off the back of my mom and dad's ski boat. There is a big flat across from the Demby Point swimming area. The crappie guys have a few scattered brush pills in 8ft of water on the flat. That is usually my go to spot early in the morning. I always have a jerk bait and a root beer green flake hula grub tied on. They have consistently produced for me in the past few years. When nothing works shad rap in shad color all sizes work.
I just ordered a cricket tube from cabelas as I was watching this video.I'm sold. I did a lot of panfishing with crickets last year and its a pain in the butt when using a bag or a cage. This will be a gamechanger. Thank you!
I lived on lake oauchita for 6 months on a house boat at Lake Oachita State Park Marina. One of the best times of my life so far. My first youtube vid is catching a huge catfish on the houseboat, bass fishing was always hard for me though.
Lake Ouachita is my stomping grounds. Loved seeing a recognizable background. Come back again and I'll point you in the right direction. FYI If you hang a right at the car wash, there are houses on the lake. I live in the Mountain Harbor area.

I had same problem with bait being gone and trap wasn't tripped. I had mice stealing my bait. Just a suggestion. Awesome video though. I love both of your channels, and can't wait to see new ones!!!!
Just got though watching Miss Emmie take her first boat ride over on his Lake Life Channel. She's a cutie for sure and so well behaved. She's a mini OSG for sure. Look just like mommy.
Love Lake Ouachita. Lots of houses just off the lake. Central AR friends used to like houseboats in lieu of shoreline property... and think “wash-i-tah” ✌️
I have a houseboat there further down into the cove (“A” Dock) from the cottage that you stayed in/down from that bridge. I basically live there - staying 3 nights one week and 4 nights the next alternating with my work schedule. Anyway, it was so cool watching you fish spots that I see ALL THE TIME! I hope that you got to witness a sunset from the gazebo (Micah’s Point).
That lake was built in 1950 btw, my grandpa helped build it. theres some old CATS down there that they couldnt get out after they closed the flood gates, buses, trucks some old work houses.When they closed the gates it started raining and the water quickly came up so they had to get what they could out lol

I live in Arkansas and ouachita is a great lake. You need to try bull shoals, beaver, and Norfork lake. All great fisheries especially for smallmouth bass.

Nice video. You should try a 4wt fly rod just use 8lb mono for the tippet with black foam spider. You will catch hundreds the top water part is exciting. They are a blast to fight. No messing around with live bait, and anyone can quickly learn to cast one. You should try it you won't regret it.
@@tterryshenanigans1820 Gotcha. I tend to shy away from mono when bobber fishing since it wants to float vs. flourocarbon that sinks. I suppose once you put a weight on the line it's no different.

Sure you found out when you cleaned it but the green sunfish dont have near as much meat as other pan fish. There rib cage is a lot bigger so to get a good chunk of meat I dont keep em unless there 8 in or bigger. Out here in south central ks btw.

My FAVORITE is micro fishing for small bass and bluegill. My kids have a blast with a bobber and some night crawlers
I’ve used live crickets for bluegill my entire life(29 years old, from Kentucky). They’re by far the best bait for big bluegill!

Get your self a fly rod and head up to bass pro and buy yourself some grasshopper flys, wolly boogers, and nymphs. Most underrated fishing method.

Likely because bluegill generally aren't line shy, mono is cheaper.

Hey when u are fish for small fish or catfish slim Jim’s work great bc they let off oil in the water and have a tough skin that helps them stay on.
LFG, you got to try Trout Magnets they catch bass, panfish and of course trout.Also you need to come to Lake Beaverfork in Conway, Arkansas.
