Does adding complex suspension and more torque than a Ramerado 2500 elevate the 2024 Mercedes-AMG S63 E-Performance to new heights of luxury and performance, or is it too much?
Mercedes provided the car-to-car assets.

1,055 lb ft of torque in an S Class. What a time to live in
Literal super duty level of torque. Wild
And 5700 lbs. No bueno
Had Mercedes kept the V12 an S 65 E Performance would have had 1130 lb of torque and 809 hp.
@@moonrider99The body is much stiffer than the S 580 version and the battery is behind the rear axle instead of mounted to the transmission at the front like on most hybrids, so it performs well enough for an S class AMG.
@@moonrider99it’s an S class not a 911 turbo lol
The ultimate lease machine
A car like this should be lease only lol
Nah that’s the i7 bro 😂
you need to lease 2 of them to have a way of getting groceries while one's getting warranty fixed again.
Probably will be a good CPO buy though. Defiantly buy that extended warranty though
Yea if you're braindead and don't care of your cars. If you do, and maintain it properly as the manufacturer recommends, you'll have a car that will be like new in 30 years from now.
The remarks such as "buying the real estate between the lights" and "are you repo-ing yachts with this thing" elevate this channel from a technical review masterpiece to borderline Jeremy Clarkson levels of funny.
Zack is a world class journalist
I just heard it in Clarkson's voice 😂😂😂
What about the line "the 4.0 TT V8 is just as common in a Mercedes as a divorcé"
Calm down pal… can barely hear u with all that D in your mouth
As a long time viewer, (fan) I must say that this review had some of you and Matt’s best exterior car-to-car footage ever. Great video overall ZK!
The car to car was from Mercedes press packet. But their camera people will be happy to see that.
@@TheSmokingTire lol
This is a great car to own out of warranty.
only if you are a mechanic who wokrs for benz and is also a millionaire
HEY!! TAVARISH!! THEY GOT AN IDEA FOR THR NEXT PROJECT!
Haha
I liked the "They buy the real estate between lights." Great job Zack!
cant wait for the 7000 pound s73 with 2000 lb ft of torque. More weight and hp is always the answer right? right?
For the S-Class, most of the time, yes.
Great review as always.
As an MB nerd this car is both fascinating and terrifying. This much complexity will no doubt be a maintenance nightmare out of warranty, but I’m sure this thing is a blast.
For those of us that are nowhere near the intended tax bracket of S63 buyers, could we please get a review of the new 4 cylinder C43 soon Zack??
I thought it came with a V6?
@@christmasisawesome9348
Not anymore. Uses a modified CLA45 AMG 4 cylinder now.
who keeping this more than 2 years lol
@@HOTPLATEGAMING lame
@@christmasisawesome9348Mercedes announced that the 2026 C63 will have a V8, they are bringing it back due to the dissatisfaction. MB should have put this power plant in the C63, no one would have complained and they would have saved face.
Long time viewer and podcast listener - I think this video is a perfect example of doing ENOUGH. Not doing TOO much, or spending too much time/effort and not getting the return. This isn't a movie quality stuff here, and that's okay! This video is SO well done. It gets the information across in a way that's easy to digest, it's entertaining, and it's not 45 minutes long. Nice job including the press footage in the edit too. It adds a much needed variety to the video. Use this video as a case study! Assuming ZK enjoyed this formula from start to finish, repeat it!
And I thought the previous S classes were maintenance nightmares.. This thing needs a NASA engineer to keep it running.
I am interested in what the markets look like on these and the new C63 in 8 - 10 years...I imagine depreciation will be even worse than prior gens.
Top line: "the people who own these buy the real estate between the lights" lmfao
Jeremy Clarkson once said that the latest S class is always decades ahead of the rest of the car market
The videos recently have been absolute benchmark stuff. Really first class. Beautifully presented, shot and edited. Oh, and those Globes are badass! 😎 👍🏻
Excellent review Zach. You just keep getting better and better keep up the awesome work
This is the most comprehensive review of the S class I've seen so far. Awesome job!
Best review from Zach so far and what an incredible piece I loved it
As the owner of a 07 S63 that thing is nuts, I bought my S63 about 2yrs ago & yes it has had some issues, but on the open road it's f..king glorious, thanks for the video, Rj in Oz
Long live the beautiful w221
Fantastic job, Zack!
Wow, thanks!
I have had a 2019 S63 for a few years now and love the car. They are actually pretty easy to work on for things like brakes and oil changes. The 4.0 in mine has been bulletproof and I have not really had too many issues with the car. I purchased a 2019 because I actually like the W222 looks much better, plus it is probably the last true V8 S Class we will ever see, plus I only paid around 110K for a 1 year old example with 9K miles on it. I would bet this one as demoed is close to 200K if not more.
Great vid Zack. Killing it
"are you repoing yachts" LOL
Been waiting for this one after the podcast teaser! Nice job as usual!
This really shows that there are legacy automakers that have the capabilities to build such complicated cars. In the world of electric cars some could say that this is almost unnecessary but imagine what we haven’t seen yet from people like these! That’s proper engineering!
Very nice one Zack ,the quality has been amazing lately
Zack - excellent review!!!! with an excellent car which only few people will buy - the hyper - lux - sport - sedan market is limited.
This review is so good and so complete that im even going to go and buy a Mova Globe right now 🤟
What a car! Phenomenal review Zack
nice editing and production values...hope the effort gets the views
Nice video. Kept me engaged the entire video.
Great review Zac
None of those EVs have the sound this does and for most the choice is much simpler because of that V8 noise. Never thought I would say this however HP isn't everything! Awesome Review Zack
For real those globes look sick!
IMO screens like those in cars are cheap looking.
what happens if you get into a rear fender bender? would the battery get damage/how long would take to repair?
Zacks really improved in his commentsry. This was great!
Top review, I do like solo Klapman reviews for most cars
Very well done Zach
Great video by Mr Klapman
Great review!
Excellent review.
What a car, I am getting out the Haynes manual to train for maintenance when I buy it fourth hand.
How long do the tires last? 😅
Spot on writing and editing.
Double XL Sports car. Love it.
You are nailing these reviews.
Great, engaging vid!
This is both an enginnering marvel and a technological time-bomb, all those screens and computers will not age well. With that said: Excellent stuff, Zack!
That ad spot was smooth as 40 grit sandpaper
Great review
reviews keep getting better and better.
Lovely car, the V8 sounds great 👍
Great work
That silver spoon reference was great... nice writing sir
Well done Zach, well done
Well done Zac.
great video!!
Too* on the screens yeah.
This is one of those beat the pavement into submission sedans
Great video
"Owners of this car don't drag race between light to light, they buy the real state from light to light"....that hit hard
Being passenger in the regular s63 is insane, i could only imagine what this feels like. Also, silent prayer for the 3rd+ owner of this car off warranty.
Really not feeling the grille. Don’t mind the vertical slats too much (still prefer the horizontal) but an S-Class isn’t an S-Class without the emblem on the hood. I get the marketing approach with the Mercedes sub-brands but it just doesn’t seem fitting for this car. It also looks like an after thought. Great review!
1:29 😂 ❤ 🍄 you're hilarious!
I usually skip ads but those globes are mental.
Oh boy, where do you start!❤😂
Best looking full size sedan on the current market
4:40 👏 Well said
$190K base buys a Blackwing/M5/E63 plus lots of options for a weekend driver. I get its about image but seems like this car does nothing great. Too heavy/big to be a driver's car. Too stiff to be a limo. Looks spectacular though.
“… the tablet that could fit hundreds of Commandments, not just 10….” , that’s new, surprised that has not been said before. Nice job as usual
OMG I'VE WANTED THAT GLOBE SINCE I SAW IT LAST TIME
I can’t wait for the wagon version
I absolutely need it.
10:06 I think this will be what distinguishes an AMG EV/hybrid rom the others.
"owners of this car dont drag race this car from light to light, they buy their real estate from light to light"😭🔥🔥🔥
God damn Zach, you are a fantastic writer.
My question:
What if u never plug it in? Will it still run? And what is the demerits of doing that? Will it just eventually turn into a regular S 580 carrying/dragging 1000 extra pounds !
Please clarify…🚗 r getting really complicated …. I wonder what long term service or a major wreck costs would be 😂😢
is the s580 quieter inside?
My m157 s63 is a beast but that right there makes me wanna upgrade 😭😭
My new goal in life is to buy a boat and name it “Unceasing Thrust”. Love the video
So which is better, the 2024 Bi-turbo V8 or the S65 V12 bi-turbo?
Nice job Zac, Nice job! Wouldn’t want to run one out of warranty! But I guess those who can afford one aren’t keeping a car around for more than a couple of year anyway… I’m sadly interested in it’s economy - i.e. best of both worlds, stonking V8 with reasonable around town economy?
I really like the design language of the new C and S class. Beautiful sedans especially in AMG version. This s63 is really good in the other aspects too, shame the same cant be said about the c63.
Everything is perfect except for the front grille. I prefer the horizontal grille that's specific to the S63 on the W222 and W221. The vertical style grille makes it appear as an E-class sedan until you take a closer look.
To be correct: It has 802 hp. 612hp + 190hp.
I've been subscribed for 10 years
The minute Mercedes reduced the trunk space to convert the car to be an BEV, they lost the plot.
I struggle to understand y would anyone care about laggage in a luxury super fast seden like this Cs if u need more laggage u can just simply get a truck
@@brianaluwani7642 For me, the dream of owning one of Bavaria's super fast sedans was that you could have it all in one package. This car probably can't take 3 people to the airport with luggage...
Imagine the repair bill when the warranty is over...
This is how the channel should start doing videos. Give some love to the interior like this video.
Never liking this design but the side profile at 0:40 is actually good.
This guy looks exactly like Joey Barton. Its true everyone has a duplicate somewhere in this world
“Owners of this car don’t drag race from light to light; they buy the real estate between the lights.” Mic drop!
This thing should go fantastic off road
what a sleeper
So it looks like an A class with some bits, weighs nearly 6000lbs, and it'll be used by the wives of rich folks to drive to starbucks every day. Oh and it'll explode after the warranty is up thanks to all that tech. Sounds like modernity in a nutshell. Excellent video as always though TST!
Totally agree. Ridiculous car, overly complex in virtually all aspects.
A mediocre comment.
How do you think it stacks up to an m5?!
S Klass the best class
Do you have to keep the electric motor charged or does it charge itself while driving? That would drive me nuts. Need gas and attached to power cord. Much rather just choose one.
Maybe watch them video? Not a car I can think of that's independent?
@@Heyitsallgoodman I did but they did not address it.
Could this make a full lap at full power. Maybe a good car to run time attack. Strip it down like a few have done with tesla and install slicks and aero. Might be really good for a hot lap or two. Also the whole idea of I've made cause I have s class is silly. You don't have to be rich to buy expensive cars you can't afford. Lots of people do it. Where I live there are tons of guys with lifted 100k trucks making 35k a year lol
Its a luxury spaceship. Teleports you and your passengers to a different dimension with all the thrust and tech that the world has to offer. And it costs "if you have to ask you can't afford it" money.
Must just be the camera lens but that steering wheel looks thicc.
I can't think of a more disposable flagship sedan...LOL
Incredible time we live in. However, how are they ever going to lower the cylinder number and give in more power? This is shooting in AMG's future foot!
