Thank you for the video. Works great. One question though... Is it possible to adjust the aperture? It seems the camera (xt4) always defaults to the maximum aperture..
@@ScottDawson I think I didn’t make myself clear. I know how to set the aperture, I was talking about adjusting the aperture when using the camera as a webcam (with the Fuji webcam software)

Awesome! Just connected my XT3 and works like a charm - do you know if it's charging via USB-C from MacBook or it's using the battery? If the battery only can you recommend how to keep power through all day of meetings?
Does X Webcam 2.0 work with Fujifilm X-S10 cameras? There is online chatter that it dose not. I want to buy an X-S10 but this doubt is holding me back.
Hello there, is it possible that I use x-t4 to do 4k HDMI output (stream for zoom/Skype software) while doing 4k recording? My xt20 cannot do 4k on both. Thanks for kind consideration.
Thanks for your video! I have been using Webcam 2 with my XT3 with Zoom (Software on my MacMini). Works great, but the white balance options don't do anything. The correction looks good though. Are the controls somehow overridden by Zoom? I also don't see a difference in the various color film simulations,, though the black and white ones do change to B&W. I saw some footnotes on the Fujifilm website to use for Web bases Zoom, but idk. Thoughts?
I could see the settings perhaps being overridden by zoom. I've tried with QuickTime and I can't change any options. It may also be the webcam software version and firmware you have installed. Make sure you have each up to date.
I successfully just used my xh2s as a webcam. 2 things though - I get a 720 p signal. Is it because I use the usb-c cable and is it improved via Hdmi? - I cannot get the rode stereomic recognize by the software, is it possible to get it recognized?
Hey, thanks for the video, have you tried the camera with Big Sur 11.1? I couldn't get it working. My setting and cable are fine as I tested the camera with Windows it works just fine but not with Mac.
Do you still need a continuous charge on the camera? Also what USB cable is it - the USB C output or the micro HDMI output? I have. tx-3, just trying to make sure what I need to get
@@ScottDawson i got the connection working but it flashed a low battery screen in zoom. Do i need a way to keep it charged? I don't see that in the instructions at all, i just have a regular Fujifilm battery that doesn't last long at all
Scott, retired photography pro here. I have my XT2 turned into the primary web cam now. Have you been able to get Auto Focus to work? I have the XT2 with 18-55 pointed at me right between my two monitors at my editing station. (Win10 Pro Tower under the desk...) I did this for the main reason you cite: Just looks way nicer to be photographed at about 50mm setting on the focal length ring, and as indicated by another commenter the camera software is biased toward wide apertures. Good look - shallow depth of field. *BUT* that means leaning in for emphasis while reading aloud, holding up a book with both hands, etc., I depend on auto focus. Yes, I know there is a button to force a focus run. Not what we need. When using both hands to hold open a book you can't get to the button. The pre-AF setting suggestion seems to be a poor man's AF here. But it's not up to current expectations for responsiveness. I called New Jersey and staff there (great people, always willing to help) didn't have enough experience with the web cam app to tell me how to get the AF to work. New Jersey hasn't made this a priority, I guess. I have tried setting the body to "C" at the front three-way-switch. No visible help. For some months this body was on a tripod as a document camera and the laptop camera in the bezel did headshot duty. So I am used to the software. BTW, the key to effective face-to-face communication in an on-line meeting is to move the video window right to the edge of the monitor bezel next to the protruding lens - your eye direction will be as close as possible to the axis of the lens.
Hi Jonathan thanks for watching! I haven't had an issue with the focusing but I do use and X-T4 and not an X-T2 so there may be a difference because of that support wise. Do you have the camera on Continuous Focus mode?
@@ScottDawson New Jersey wondered the same thing, but everyone's guessing. (I had not thought that the improvements from XT2 to XT4 wrere so earth-shaking that they would render the XT2 a waste of time for web meetings but I did not buy a -4 I love my XH-1, though.) Customer Service in Edison speculated about tracking vs. no tracking. Face detect vs. no face detect. Perhaps if I record a "meeting" with just me I can evaluate during playback what happens under certain settings. I wish the customer-facing Fuji people had more access to the engineers! I listened again to your 'tube and wonder if it's true to say that "you have access to your... autofucus." Clicking the button for a ficus run is a good feature but Fuji should not say/imply that it's the autofocus we know our particular body capable of in other capture situations. I believe they suggest/specify "Pre-AF" to be the best substitute. But it's slow and hunts like a madman. The reason this matters is for any teaching or, really, anything you need to say without creating a snoozefest: being animated will move your eyes out of focus using any "real" camera (larger sensor) as a web cam.
@@nixonkang1994 I indicated above that Pre-AF was set on the body's menus for these Zoom sessions. This XT2 has been dedicated to this one task since early Spring 2020 and menu settings don't change due to use in another setting. I just wished Fuji's implementation of Pre-AF was a faster substitute for real continuous focus so it could more quickly react during a Zoom to small movements on my part. I was tutoring at that time and needed a less static feed.

Otherwise your Fuji camera may not be recognized by your computer in regards to the Fuji X webcam app.
thanks for the tutorial. I guess it is also working with the xh-2s. Does it work better via the hdmi port or the usb is enough? usb-vc towards usb-c works as well? - does it work with 4k or would that creat too much lag? And, last but not least, wich softwares are compatible(teams, google meet, zoom skype...)?
My camera is X-S10. No matter in Windows or Mac, the webcam software cannot adjust any parameters, even though I have updated the camera and software to the latest version. And the image quality is very poor.
That's odd I used zoom and it worked fine. I'm on Mac using xt4. The only thing I can think of is to make sure that your camera firmware, the x webcam software, zoom and your computer are all updated. Good luck!
