    There is something special about propagation and getting to watch the plant from scratch.

    Whoaaaa I was amazed at how successful you were with all these cuttings! I used to have a monstera albo but it went downhill so quickly and not a single cutting survived :( That top cut of your aurea is a work of art!! 😊

    I just received an aurea cutting and was nervous about the best way to root it until I saw your video. Thank you SO much for showing the entire process in a single video. Your videos are amazing!

    Enjoyed watching the process and seeing how you deal with the 'disappointment' helps me to keep my head up and keep going too when my props & re-pots fail. We are in summer now in Sydney and I am debating whether to transfer my Thai Con from soil to LECA or PON from soil. I don't do soil anymore (thanks Nora, The LECA Queen🤭) so I have to decide on one of them. I think I'll go PON cos we are having some pretty nasty scorchers atm and if I go away on holiday at least she'll stay a little more moist for longer...🤔

    Dude, you are KILLING this Vlogmas thing! You could have accomplished the daily challenge with much shorter videos and much less effort. Thanks for all the great content you're sharing. I know it must be TONS of work.

    Hi there!Im wondering..Do u let the cuttings sit out to callus over before placing them in water?

  • @mwilliamanderson
    @mwilliamanderson ปีที่แล้ว

    I loved the video 🙂. That was a lot of work, lol! I know you have so much watering to do and far more plants than me, but my fungus gnat problem is virtually gone using mosquito bit tea to water every single time. Moss poles get it, plants in pot get it as well as plants in soil. I can even be on my phone at night without inhaling gnats.

    Toilet paper absolutely. Get stuck on your feet in women's bathrooms, It's because we have to sit down on the seat and we always put the toilet paper on the seats. And then they fall off of the seats on the floor and then the women's feet get wet. Because the toilet around it can be wet. And it gets stuck on your feet. It's at least happened to me three times if not four.

    Our winters are so dark, we live in a valley and the cloud cover sits just inside the mountains, so we never get much sun, I have grow lights for everything, there’s never enough light through my windows right now

      @@torquess454 my grandparents ate them during the depression. I’m not a fan, there is a trick to eating them that I’ve long forgotten. They have to be very ripe and you have to avoid the fibrous hairs inside. I think the local technical colleges use the wild type Mon. deliciosa to teach students how to do meristem cultures. There are literally thousands along the highway from the airport into the city, growing in full sun. All in fruit. ( I’ve got a feeling you wait for the little segments to fall out, purple taro mochi are my thing, lol).

    I’d say why not give silica a try? I know you are worried about pH but a little more diamond nectar should correct that. No? Also, feel your pain with aurea variants reverting. Every chop starts a new growth trajectory and what you see on the leaf, isn’t necessarily what you will end up with on the next one. But if you get it stable and growing large and highly variegated? Breathtaking and totally worth it. Takes a bit to get a stable specimen, and I truly believe that every time you chop creating new growth points throws variegation off balance. This is why these plants will continue to have value.

    Do use anything to treat the roots for rot? I've wondered about swishing them in water with a tiny bit of bleach, betadine, Cinnamon, or hydrogen peroxide.
