    Can't go wrong with a Leatherman! I have been carrying one for about 15 years. They have awesome customer service! I broke off on side of the pliers on my Wave and they sent me a new one no questions asked!

      I think of all the companies out there, leatherman ranks at the top for customer service. Gotta say I am impressed with their multi tool so far. I know the wave is the original tool that put leatherman on the map. As I get older, when I spend money on a tool, quality has become more and more important. There are so many knock offs and poorly made tools on the market these days.

    I just ordered mine as a combo from Leatherman, it comes with the 2 extra sets of bits, the ratcheting tool and some other small stuff. I work in EMS and my partner swears by it, so I just had to get one.

    just got mine, i used some stainless metal polisher, it looks even better.
    its like add contrast to the tool,
    also after hard clamp, the jaw will be very very stiff too. and it is almost impossible to fix

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting info about the polisher. Will have to look into it.
      Sorry to hear about the plier lock up. That is unfortunate. Having said that, I'm pretty certain leatherman will take care of it if you use their warranty. The only downfall is that you will be without your tool for a little bit. Thanks for sharing the info!

    • @EnnTomi1
      @EnnTomi1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dadapprovedreviews466 The jaw is not faulty. It is how it is designed. It is a very common problem as it is a design problem.
      Your unit may not be as tight, which is purely luck. And that's good for you.
      I have already got it fixed, but this shouldn't be there in the first place imo.

    Don't just get the Bit Extender. Get the ratchet bit extender. The Charge TTI is a very nice multi-tool.

  • @sergeiboi
    @sergeiboi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    quick question, did you purchase the Charge + TTI Set? or just regular Charge TTI?

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased the regular charge tti. Although it does not show in the photo on leatherman's website, it comes with a sheath and also a partial bit kit that fits inside the nylon sheath.
      The Charge Plus TTI partial bit kit comes with Square Drive #1 & #2, Eyeglass Screwdriver, Hex 5/32 & 9/64", Hex 1/8" & 7/64", Hex 3/32" & 5/64", Hex 1/16" & .050", Phillips #1-2 & 3/16" Screwdriver, Screwdriver 1/8" & Torx #15.
      If you get the set, it comes with the new ratchet bit driver extender and also additional bits for the bit kit and the wire cutter replacement kit.
      I hope this info helps.

      Thank you for watching. The risk of recording unboxings....I like capturing the moment but there are typically awkward moments. Having used the tool since then I am hoping to upload a follow up review.

    Just got 1 an the screws were all off center. Sent it back. Trying again. Aint paying 200 HunDoW for any bullsht action.

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good thing you returned it. Some people don't go through the trouble of returning it only to be bothered by it everytime they pick it up and use it. If you pay that much for it, you want to make sure that it works. I am surprised a little that it was not in good working order or that the fit and finish was not up to par. Hopefully the next one will be dialed in. Let me know what you think of it after you put some use to it. On my end, it has proven itself to be quite useful on q number of occasions. Good luck!

    I never see any reviewer that likes the crimper in the pliers' tip. Still doubt why LM keeps it there.

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Really wish that it wasn't there. Having said that I think ive figured out what it is there for and will put up a new video with a more in depth look. Thank you for the comment and for watching the video!

      I don’t like the crimper in the front. But the scales can get in the way when using the crimper behind the pliers.

  • @jonscears

    Do you EDC it?

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found that I EDC the smaller, lighter, and pocketable leatherman skeletool much more often. Simply out of convenience.. The pocket clip on the skeletool makes it so easy to slip in and out of the pocket.
      Having said that, when I do work around the house, I have the TTI with me. Recently I had to swap out the doorbell transformer for my home located in the attic because the original one was not strong enough for the nest hello video doorbell. I also swapped out our doorbell chime box. This means very basic electrical work and screwing and unscrewing things. Because I was in the attic I did not want to go back down to grab my Klein tools for the basic electrical work. I pulled out the TTi and used it instead. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it worked at stripping the wires and I was able to use it for the installation. The exchangeable bits helped as well. The blade was great at slicing and cutting.
      Note: I dont work in a trade. If I did I would definitely edc either this, the charge or charge plus, or likely the heavy duty surge.
      I use tools because I enjoy renovations and projects around the home. When I am painting or working with drywall mud I try not to pull out the TTi because I dont want to sit there and have to clean everything off.
      I can also see ppl keeping this in their car glove compartment or in their go bag. Although it is a little bit on the pricier end to just stash it as an emergency tool.
      Lastly, ppl who enjoy the outdoor and camp and hike. I can foresee ppl putting it to good use.
      I hope this info helps.
      Ty for watching and the question.

    The SOG Power Assist Multi-Tool is far superior to this LM, especially its pliers - the force is greatly increased by their gear drive mechanism. I believe they're noticeably less expensive.

      Leatherman will always be better than sog in Terms of multi tools. Leatherman has superior quality to that of sog. I've returned numerous sogs due to poor quality and craftsmanship. Leatherman and victorinox are the only tools I have ever had where I never had to return or replace anything.

    • @dadapprovedreviews466
      @dadapprovedreviews466  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to admit, I did do some research into sog tools and I do like some of the items in their lineup. I will have to give them a try one day. Having said that, I am more curious to get my hands on a victorinox swisstool or comparable multi tool.

    • @shawnpepin7890

      Haha, sog ain’t got nothing on leatherman... the plier heads alone on the high end leathermans are on par with knipex.. sog is a cheap Chinese alternative, but only cheap in materials as they are very pricey.. they have some gimmicks, and that’s about it

    • @jamesmcnary4939
      @jamesmcnary4939 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leatherman makes the best plier-based multitools. SOGs are toys.
