technically the 500 already is 11:14... but I think the same- at the moment EVs seem to be a good secondary car- but cost more than your main car... which is exaggerated by the fact that there is only a questionable used car market for EVs- so in my mind I compare new EV prizing with preowned petrol cars.

I believe they based it on him yes.
Dear Mister Jonny, I really like your reviews. You put a lot of effort in it.
It looks like a fed up Pikachu, i love it.
Jonny, the variety and authenticty of your storytelling is knocking all other "so-called" automotive influence into a cocked hat, with their formulaic, self-congratulatory nonsense falling well behind your engaging and genuine approach. Seriously, well done and thank you for your work.
Thank you so much Matthew. Not sure what to say...
"The bloke has a propa dodge roll up on the go" lol sounds like he is definitely going green in his crv
Was thoroughly amused by that youtube friendly observation.
@@benjaminchristianhay Why thank you kind sir.
Thank you for creating this content Johnny. Your enthusiasm for ev’s is infectious.
they have really nailed this one, well done fiat
Hands down the best motoring journalist on the scene at the moment !
(not monitoring hahah)
Johnny’s style of presenting is a great mix between facts and quirky banter - keep up the great work Late Brake Show!
I am good at monitoring. Thank you.
@@TheLateBrakeShow hahaha
Oh and motoring
I blame iPhone :)
(It did it again damn it !)
When are there gonna be electric cars for less than 20k, so far all these cars are well outside my price range
Dacia Spring next year, if you live in Europe.
The base model is £20k. It mentions it in the vid.
technically the 500 already is 11:14... but I think the same- at the moment EVs seem to be a good secondary car- but cost more than your main car... which is exaggerated by the fact that there is only a questionable used car market for EVs- so in my mind I compare new EV prizing with preowned petrol cars.
Someone needs to make a car under 20k.. there’s a huge huge market for that.
@@ScottPC Exactly, I don't need all these fancy screens and stuff, just give me a reliable EV with decent range and the ability to rapid charge for less than 20k
To see you on the verge on 200k, putting out cracking videos and that you are loving doing it, is an incredible achievement Jonny! Looking forward to seeing everything you do next!
If abarth make this into a hot hatch im selling a kidney to get it
Excelling in the production levels, Jonny *doffs cap*
Makes it a joy to watch and take in the full review of the car. Keep it up 👍🏻
Big ask to get someone to buy it at £20,000, especially when last gen 500's are cheap with the same good looks.
Ummmmm an Abarth version is that sort of money.... so not that much of an ask
Last gen is not electric. Not really comparable.
@@kidoctane That's true but the Arbath edition 500 was the top of the line limited edition. Not focused at the wider small car market, the electric 500 here is focused at the wider small car market. So when the base model costs almost as much as as an Arbath then questions need to be asked about what you're getting in return.
@@mylesclark1757 Hum - the Abarth 500/595/695 is a somewhat of a mainstream version - there have been some limited edition versions (like the outrageously priced Biposto). Although not a huge seller its been a consistent seller for over 10 years.
My point is that while the 500e is undoubtedly pricey now there are ppl who will pay that sort of money for an interesting small car. It is early days for the EV market so all EV cars are pricey - the 500e seems competitively priced against its opposition. I expect that over time that EV car prices will reduce as numbers increase and they become more mainstream
Me - assuming that the 500e is released in my country (Australia) and its priced comparable to an Abarth .......Hello and take my $$$
Jonny, that was a brilliant review. Just what I want from a car programme, keep up the great work mate!
All enjoyable production values aside, what really stands out for me is that Jonny is not the usual kind of talented and knowledgeable TH-camr, but a proper journalist who really knows how to tell a story, how to deliver facts and how to make a point. I don't even drive a car or want one but I watch your videos with pleasure.
I'm not really sure how to reply to this, but thank you. Means a lot.
Another great video Jonny, thank you. Stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks back and what a treat it's been, takes me back to the early days of Fifth Gear...but with electricity. Professional, informative and entertaining. A lot of your fellow 'youtubers' would do well to watch and learn. Keep up the awesome work.
Another great video from Jonny Smith! Former 2014 500e owner from the U.S. here. Current GM Bolt EV owner. My two favorite new EV's have to be the Honda e & the new 500e. And tie for third, would be the Zoe & e-up. All of which, are un-available in U.S. Maybe... I need to move. Cheers
Simply the best car reviews around, everything you need to know about a car in an entertaining package without being frivolous.
I watched back to back The Late Brake & Fully Charged reviews of the 500e ... Jonny you get the thumbs up from me, more real life detail excellently put across in a blinding manner.
To be honest I'm not even sure I want to watch FC review, now that I've seen this one. Is FC review full of Roberts sound impressions and rants range? And let me guess, unnecessary comparison to Tesla?
Impressive episode, Uncle Johnny. If there was a category for such, you'd easily be nominated for an Academy Award.
Jonny my boy, you did it! Music, camera, whole style, this is really good cinema. And the car is also nice.
Smashing review as always, I was cracking up at the committed smoker
