If I remember correctly, out of the 150 goals he scored for United, only one is outside the box. This guy is an 18 yard box goal scoring machine. Left leg, Right leg, headers, power shot, volley, chip, lob, tap you name it. When he is in the box he knows instinctively where the goalie and the Goal is. I once watch a live match that a very good defender man marked him the whole game not allowing him to turn and shoot. Guess what, he back heeled the ball into the net. What a striker.
Ruud absolutely knows the probability of goal is much higher inside the box. I've seen so many long shots outside the box wasted. Yes it's definitely a beauty if they went in.
He scored few more from outside the box with man United I think saf wanted him to be in the box all the time But he was actually capable of scoring from outside the box
Probably the most natural striker in the modern era, if not in the premier league alone. I've never seen better in terms of purely being a striker, and quite technical too compared to a Haaland by far

I started supporting the Dutch national team since 1988 at the age of 7, ten years later I started supporting Manchester united and sincerely hope that both teams would get as half as good striker and finisher as Van Nistelroij.
I was at High school when united signed him and waited a year for his injury to heal 2001, what amazes me about him is how good he was after the injury, just makes you think how better he could of been if he didnt get the ACL injury

Better goalscorer than Henry. One on one Henry 7.5 out of ten would score ,van nistelrooy 9 out of ten times would score. Henry was the more skilful player though

He was ok. Van Persie was a more complete player and could dribble and pass much better. Bergkamp was not as lethal but had better passing, touch and dribbling than either of them. The best Dutch forward of all time Van Basten. Best Dutch player ever was Gullit.
