I always thought Rooney was lazy. He is aggressive and angry in the attack not a workaholic. Happened to be a dirty player but usually had somewhat the right mentality in these matches. Beckham was not a workhorse. That would be like Park. Good for Rooney to score 3 goals but I always felt like he was overrated and got special and preferential treatment from Fergie because he was British and played rough and dangerously every time he was on the pitch which is not necessarily a good thing. Ferguson held him in high regard and gave him more chances than others even when he was bad-tempered and irritable. I can only imagine how it was like to lose with Rooney, Giggs, Ferdinand, Ferguson & Ronaldo in your team they seem like they would be sore and petty losers afterwards a lost game. That's bad sportsmanship in soccer and something Man Utd squad should not be proud of doing. Rooney scored tons of goals but that doesn't make me like him. I thought he was immature and he usually threw temper tantrums like a baby every match. Seemed to be a bit of a ruthless bully.

I was born in 1990. Mid nineties Ajax was the best club of the world. I have a brother who is about 7 years older. He infected me with the Ajax and it’s part of us ever since. When Dennis Bergkamp joined Arsenal he became Arsenal fan as well straight away.
I remember when our grandmother gave us our first console. It was a Nintendo. The one where you had to put the game in from above.
I couldn’t really compete with my older brother but he always wanted to play with Arsenal. I needed a competitive team as well and he advices me to pick Man United. The first name I remember is Marc Hughes and I never stopped following the club.
It’s so painful to see that a club with a history like that and a fighting DNA that always was so recognizably never survived the greatness of Sir Alex.
Wayne Rooney give me so much warm memories. As a fan, if I’m allowed to consider myself as such at least. But also in so many years of playing FIFA on the PlayStation. The development of a hard working kid becoming world class was a joy to follow.
Well, I know you don’t give a shit about my melancholic story but for me it’s great to look back sometimes.
Hope the red flag will flying high again someday. Glory Man United.
