You can control the temperature using the handle. Internally it will mix hot and cold water to give you desired water temperature

Hi. I have a similar faucet but how can I turn the hanle so it starts in the upright position for hot and moves down 90 degrees forward for cold? Right now it is at -45 degrees for hot, and it touches the wall, so we can never get it to fully open, 45 degrees to the front is cold. Hope you can help

Are you referring to pull on handle?
If yes, then weight on the pull on pipe is loose and you have to adjust it.
