Protecting only comes when someone tries to take it away from you. When your own ministers and people cannot talk properly or write properly, you should be ashamed and focus on atleast reviving than protecting. This is the worst mindset Tamils have. Tamil Vowels and Consonants are called as Soul and Body. The grammar is based on how a Soul and Body involve in creating sound. For example a soul cannot directly contact another Soul, it has to contact through Body only. Similarly Body cannot create sound by its own. Body is just a medium/material. The Tamil vowels are common for any language in the world. Example B,C,D,G,P,T,V has E sound in it and F,H,J,K,L,M,N,S,X,Z has A sound in it and Q has U sound in it and Y has I sound in it. W - double U (UU) it has U sound. R has “ah” sound but this is not in english as a separate vowel. In fact “ah” is the base for all proper sounds created from mouth. Do not consider shh, iff sound which, these are not in Tamil. You can create lot more sounds like these from your mouth, but those cannot be taken as proper sounds since you cannot have a proper consonent(body) position. Yes, Consonants are just positions of the mouth/tongue/lips. If you tell “ah” continuously meanwhile close your mouth and open you will get “Amma”. If you tell “ah” continuously and stop while you close your mouth and start again while you open you will get “Appa”. “iP” and “iM” are same positions only difference is “iM” is nasal. Similarly Vallinam and Mellinam in Tamil follows.
The Tamil grammar/language is based on how Soul and Body interacts. Tamil: Uyir ezhuthukkal (soul letters) are natural sounds that Humans make. Examples...
ஆ Ah - when one gets pain
ஈ Ee - when one laughs
ஊ Uu - when one drops unexpectedly (whoops)
ஏ Hey - In anger or when one alerts (Hey! watch out)
ஐ ii - when one exclaims
ஓ Oo - when one understands (Oh oh! now I understand)
ஒள Ouu - when one fears of sudden pain (Ouch!)
These expressions are common to any Human irrespective of language or region. Because these are natural sounds from inside us out of natural expressions. That is why these sounds are called as Uyir (soul) in Tamil..

Thanks for explaining. I would add that there is this deep philosophy that the soul cannot get into a body by itself and soul and body need to be together to evolve for self realization and the implied meaning that a god (pathi) exists to manage all these souls (pasu) to evolve to god realization. Our realized ancestors baked all this philosophy into the language structure itself!

We will learn many computer languages and can have the liberty to talk in our tamil language, dont worry southern india is flourishing in IT sector even with opposing hindi imposition, we are doing good bro..
Please don't join hands with others atleast in this, language is just a tool to communicate and if it is replaced by other languages then there is clearly no survival ...
Our tamil language is oldest yet so modern as so many reforms happened just to make it handy and portable through generations...
Not only tamil matters but every language matters
So , see whichever states normalised hindi imposition has successfully forgot most of their mother language....
      So, dont be careless
If a language is destroyed, a race can be destroyed....
So, nothing wrong in learning hindi but hindi imposition everywhere and to everyone should not be taken light as it embedded with political pressure to replace the native language bit by bit until the hindi became the official language of the state😄
So, the hindi speaking people will just showcase india with only hindi as its percentage of speakers are high, very easy to shield the richness of tamil through this way!
      I hope you understand this

Hindi people are stuck on romanticizing rubbish. The doctors in USA took their DNA tests and said they have Afghanistani, Turkish, and Pakistani region lineages and didn't even expect this. What does that mean? It means the North is delusional about their lineage. They don't even know Hindi, Urdu, Dari, and Farsi are all from similar linguistic families due to branching off from each other. Its ironic cos they fight with Pakistani people but have their DNA in their genes...."Nationalism is a disease. The Measles of mankind"-Albert Einstein The dominant group that is not native to India wants to force everyone to do as they say,. They need to Focus on eradicating poverty and removing slums and building generational wealth should be their focus

I wish to emphasise that It is not the oldest language ( but the oldest living classical language ) . It’s a scientific truth. India should be proud of that heritage. And hence , Abdul Kalam and Modi have celebrated and honoured it as such. Kudos to both of them.
I come from Singapore where Tamil is one of the 4 official languages and I speak all the 4 languages.

There are several proverbs in Tamil. The fitting one for Sai Deepak is " கழுதைக்குத் தெரியுமா கற்பூர வாசன?". The meaning is that a donkey cannot smell the fragrance of camphor. So it is better that Sai stops with his utterances on a subject relating to the antiquity of Tamil of which he appears to have little knowledge.

That is not the meaning of the proverb. Seems like you yourself don't know Tamil.
      கழு தைக்க தெரியுமா கற்பூர வாசனை.
From Ancient times Mats can be prepared using two types of Grasses
      1. Karpoora Pul (Camphor/lemon grass)
      2. Korai Pul (Dry grass). Kazhu means mats made out of Korai Pul(Dry Grass).
Since Camphor Grass is rare and costly only very rich can afford to use mats made of Camphor Grass (கற்பூர புல்) , which would have camphor smell in it.
The most common mats are made out of Dry Grass or Korai Pul (கோரை புல்).
Now reframing the proverb “Kazhu Thaikka Theriyuma Karpoora Vaasanai” that means Will stitching Mats out of Dry Grass smell like Camphor (Mats) ?

In many very old temples they found tamil scripts.. i think you know about Olai chudi which is very old dating back to atleast 15,000 years ago and these all written by siddhars and maha rishis.. yourself once said like shivas damaru two sounds, one came as the Sanskirt and other one came as Tamil... And tamil language itself founded by shiva, murga and grammar given by Agastaya muni who is one of the sapta rishi so basically its old as our Shiva and agastya muni sir... You dont have to please the north audience to change the fact sir... we can debate ln which is older sanskrit or tamil... but there is no debate on other languages its for fact Tamil is old we have lot of evidence to back it.. our bharatiya people should be proud for it.. anway the language itself founded by hindu gods then whats the issue... if the language is created by shiva, Murga and grammered by one of the sapta rishi think how much we have to protect it sir.. i think our north sanskari people should understand this...
{sanskrit might be always there in the universe and anyone can grasp it..l saw alot of people speaking sanskirt and spilling out of mantras without even studying sanskirt... answer given by them is theyre just speaking what universe saying to them.. so basically it could be the universal lanuagr which is always there And the tamil might be the first language created on the world to be spoken for people ( this point is my personal perspective)}.

Tamil is one of the oldest languages of India. It is more than four thousand to five thousand years old. Tamil had two daughters: Northern Demi-Tamil and Southern Demi-Tamil. There are two languages in the Northern Demi-Tamil group - Telegu and Kannad. Southern Demi-Tamil also has two languages - Tamil and Malayalam. In addition there is the Tulu language which is a mixture of Northern Demi-Tamil and Southern Demi-Tamil.
There is a word in old Tamil, kocces, whose modern form, kocce, is still used in Malayalam. The Bengali word, kaci, comes from this word. This is one example of the influence that Tamil has exerted over Bengali. The word kocce means “small” or “tender” and the word kocin, which means “small island”, has been created from it. The Bengali word pallii [small village] is also a Tamil word, not Sanskrit.

Wrong. on tulu. Tulu did not branch from any of the other dravidian languages. Which is why it is considered older, a continuation of the proto-dravidian. It does not share any characteristics from telugu/kannada or tamil. Simply indicating it is a continuation of the proto-dravidian long before proto-tamil-kannada even emerged from the proto-dravidian. Tamil is the oldest language with known written history. People often confuse that with being the oldest living language. there is one more minor dravidian language that is also like that, I cannot remember the name of that.
It makes sense since the region of tulunadu is sheltered in its own bowl surrounded by mountain ranges.

@@curio78 When you are an atheist, you don't bother about how and what religious people are doing on their religious matters, from the moment it don't harm themselves or the others, the society. I don't see where Sanskrit mantras can bother anyone who doesn't do frequent temples, as well, who don't believe in it. From the moment you are Hindu, you accept that "primacy" of Sanskrit (as like Latin for Roman Catholics, Hebrew for Jews and Protestants, Arabic for Muslims, Pali for Buddhists, Ardhamagadhi for Jains, Persian for Zoroastrians/Parsis, Meitei for Sanamahists, Punjabi for Sikhs, etc.). A primacy which by the way, in the case of Tamil Nadu, is, in fact, only a projection of atheism claiming parties and their supporters. Tamil is well a liturgical language in many prominent Hindu denominations or religious traditions in Southern India, as in Sri Vaishnavism and in Saiva Siddhanta.
Till now, what the facts show is that you can openly say many Tamilians by birth aren't Tamilian by speech ! But you can't doubt one thing, Pure Tamil, in a very conservative form, is still and will still be uttered in Orthodox Vaishnavites temples, monasteries, and scholastic centers premises for sure. Same about the Orthodox Saiva Siddhantists' temples, monasteries, and scholastic centres.
We don't often bring openly the fact that a vast section of ancient Sangam-era Tamil litterature, has been found in the libraries of the same temples and mutts now criticised for their "Sanskritism", "Vadaadhikam" and more. If like in Goa, in Ceylon, and many other places worldwide, some Inquisition happened here in TN. What you claim as "Tamil civilisation" or "Dravidian civilisation" will have been burnt with these religious libraries.

Hindi only to an extend because both Hindi and Urdu were born as a result of amalgamation of Sanskrit and Persian, they just had different scripts and hence both of them can’t stand in the same level as the other classic languages. Well thanks to my teachers I’m also well versed in English , but it being such a broken and incomplete language is no comparison to any Indian language. So those who still cater to the joke of indo-European and indo-Dravidian language family theory, please learn a few Indian and European languages and truth will shine upon yourself like mid day sun.

Will like to add a few things wrt Hindi, Hindi is based on Sanskrit and addition of Awadhi, Brijbhasha , Urdu on Persian script + Awadhi Brijbhasa influence ; for ornate usage Hindi and Urdu diverge- eg: Manners- Shistachar in Hindi closer to Sanskrit. Manners- Tehzib Urdu close to Persian. but daily usage Sunglasses - Chasma both in Hindi and Urdu.
By your definition you will have to limit yourself to 6 classical languages- Sanskrit, Telegu,Tamil, Malyalam and my native language Odia. but it does not make sense to treat others as inferior; Bengali , Punjabi, Sindhi, Kashmiri ,Marathi are beautiful languages ;bengali melts in the mouth as you speak. You should read Prakit then
Apabhramsa ,Pali. Just because govt of India has not accorded Classical status to a language does not make it less intricate ; Odia is 2500+ year old a classical language; Bengali was developed later ; but does it take away the Genius of Tagore and his famous Geetanjali Nobel winner and beauty of Bengali. That's a narrow interpretation.

The claim that "சிரிப்பு தான் வருது😂😂 Dhanush எப்படி off screen acting பண்ணுவனோ அதுமாறி இவன் intellectual போல act கொடுக்குறான் கோமாளி😂😂😂" makes light of Dhanush's off-screen acting and intellectual abilities in a somewhat derogatory manner. However, evaluating an actor's intellectual capabilities based on their on-screen persona or off-screen activities can be misleading.
      1. **Limitations of On-Screen Persona:**
      - Assessing an actor's intellectual prowess solely based on their on-screen performances can be inaccurate. Acting is a skill that involves portraying various characters, and the roles an actor takes on may not necessarily reflect their real-life intelligence.
      - Reference: **"Film Performance: From Achievement to Appreciation" by Barbara Freedman** provides insights into the complexities of acting and the distinction between on-screen performance and real-life attributes.
      2. **Dhanush's Off-Screen Contributions:**
      - The claim dismisses Dhanush's off-screen acting abilities and intellectual contributions without providing specific examples or evidence. Dhanush has been involved in various critically acclaimed films and has received recognition for his performances.
      - Reference: Dhanush's filmography and accolades, as documented by credible film databases like **IMDb (Internet Movie Database)** and reputable film critics' reviews.
      3. **Intellectual Capacity of Actors:**
      - Judging an actor's intellectual capacity based on comedic roles or perceived simplicity in on-screen performances oversimplifies the multifaceted nature of actors. Intellectual abilities extend beyond the scope of acting and can involve various aspects of creativity and professional contributions.
      - Reference: **"The Oxford Handbook of Film and Media Studies" edited by Robert Kolb and Kathleen M. Vernon** provides perspectives on the broader intellectual contributions of individuals in the film industry.
In conclusion, evaluating an actor's intellectual abilities requires a more nuanced understanding that goes beyond on-screen performances. Dhanush, like any actor, should be assessed based on a comprehensive view of his work, both on and off the screen, rather than making assumptions based on specific roles or appearances.

What he really meant is not that Tamil is not oldest language. He says that Tamil should not be respected just citing it as oldest. Look beyond that, and see the richness within.. while also equally respecting other languages. Dont isolate oneself on the basis of language because inherently culturally we all belong to the same pot... and it is evident even within the oldest of literatures. So Dravidian movements who try to separate themselves from the rest of the Bharat in the basis of language..he suggest to look deeper and you will see unifying elements of Bharat within each language.

When Pallavas struggled to create letters for Sanskrit they thought it was best to derive from its source Tamil language. Sanskrit means purposefully built language for Spiritual reasons only. We can from it regarding the evolution of language around the world. This research will allow us to learn + teach languages effectively so that they are mastered easily in less time. Author is belived to be Tolkappiyar, who is sishya of Agasthya Muni. Agasthya Muni is one of the seven Saptarishis , a vedic scholar. And Tholkappiyam does refer to Panini, the author of the Sanskrit grammar Ashtadhyayi. In the Natrinai section of the Poruladhikaaram, Tholkappiyam refers to Panini as "the sage who has the knowledge of the Vedas" (vedasastraththaik kanduppaduththavar). Each Navodaya is paired with another one from the region whose language we study from 6th to 9th. And in 9th class there is a student exchange for 6 months of half the class. This policy is for people to integrate. I loved it.

one thing i dont understand, is why a multi lingual country such as Bharat, with an incredibly diverse landscape of language and traditions, doesnt have a 3 language national policy? In other words, why not have every child learn their mother tongue as their regional language, sanskrit as the national language, and english as the international language?? This way, every regional language is preserved, english provides access to the international domain, and sanskrit is put centre stage as the national unifying language, that brings all of Bharat together, because this is the one language that us present in all our traditions, across regional boundaries, and is the common thread that unites us all, as a spiritual civilisational geography, which lies at the heart of our ancient traditions, from where we draw our common strength and identity as a unique people unified in endless diversity.
