This video demonstrates how elegant and sophisticated these designs are, especially when made by traditional techniques and craftsmen. A light grip and Rocking motion with the handle, rat tail tang, distal taper all add up to effortless cutting when done correctly.
Well done and keep posting, great channel.
I've just bought a myparang duku chandong 12", it performs superbly.
A Tora blades pahadi village kukri on order waiting to be delivered in September.

I have the 10 inch duku chandong and it matched my condor pack golok with less effort.

I you chop big tree, i prefer make a lanyard at middle. Find small tyre rubber tube mountain bike or any bicycles tube tyre. Stick with paracord to keep hold in your hand, if not your parang I sure will flying.

Naw the handle on these is such that it won't fly out of hand unless you let it. I used my duku chandong 10 inch from my parang to cut down a tree that was about 7 inches and thick and 25 feet tall with no problems, and that was after back surgery. Had to use the duku cause I can't swing an axe, but the tree was dead and needed to come down.

@Re nato you tick or click each picture, you can zoom in.. the lanyard close to handle, it you miss chop your blade not go to your leg or your stomach.. I do same as blade competition, the middle not the back pommel.. lanyard at bottom pommel very dangerous, tip blade can swing and go to you..
