As a layperson, years ago I started off with a lead cell battery, an inverter and a plug-in battery charger, then moved on to small solar generators, with a Jackery 160 & 240 (they both still work great) and one of their portable solar panels. I really didn't like the solar panel being proprietary without an adapter and not weatherproof, but I do like a grab and go type generator (I have a dual fuel inverter generator also, since I live in a climate that, depending on the season, doesn't get a lot of sun, as a backup). I've since moved on to a couple of much larger Eco Flows (I like the parallel feature and I have a portable solar panel for these) and a larger Bluette with lifepo4 (2500 life cycles). I like that the Eco Flows and Bluette have MC4 connectors to use with my hard solar panels. I watch Will's channel too and this year, with the knowledge I've gained, am putting together my first stationary solar system. Never thought I'd be doing this in my 70's! BTW, I gave the Jackery's to my son and daughter-in-law as a beginner kit.

Great Job!! I find it funny that Jackery still has the same issues with solar input connections. I did go to check out the price to see if I would have a reason to consider it over Ecoflow....and for me the answer is NO. I can get a New Delta Pro for $3240 or a Delta Max for $1890, and not have to do adapters for solar panels and added expandability and ton more power options. Thanks Prof.Hobo for helping keep us informed.

In all honesty with the price of the Explorer 2000 Pro. I would rather get the Ecoflow Delta Max and use the change to add a 110W solar panel.

I bought one of these about 2 weeks ago, PROS----- It does charge fast off home outlet or solar power, it ran my stand up freezer by itself for over 24 hours, it will take solar from my own 200 watt outdoor panels after buying the adapters hobotech recommends, I can carry it around, I like the display that tells you how many watts of solar is coming in and how many watts of energy is going out and what percentage of battery you have left. I like that it has a pure sine inverter and ran whatever I hooked up to it smoothly. CONS- Like everyone is saying the 8020 plug in jacks for solar suck I had to buy( mc4 - 8mm 7909) to the (8020 adapters) to hook my solar panels more money and skinny little 14 gauge wires, I am lucky to get 65% of my rated solar capacity on a sunny day in central Arizona. And you can't leave the solar hooked up all night expecting it to just start sending watts through it in the morning you have to disconnect the solar and reconnect it, and sometimes it just randomly turns off the solar input during the day like today when I was at 95% battery with 800 watts of panel hooked up and getting 425 watts max it just stopped taking solar so I had to un plug the solar from the back and re hook it it and then it seems to be working fine again. Overall its a well built unit with some solar charging issues caused by jackery trying to force you to buy there over priced solar panels. I will get a bluetti or ecoflow next time.

I just bought it and should receive it in a couple of days. Two things made me buy it: less weight to carry around (20 lbs less than the competition!), and smaller size for the same power. I don't mind the "limited" number of charge cycles, because I don't intend to drain it fully and recharge it to 100% every single day for the next 3 years anyway!

Nice unit but for $3,600 with 2 panels I'll stick with my Bluetti AC200max and 2 batteries that I got during their spring sale. For about $600 more I have 3 times the capacity, a better battery chemistry and a 2200 watt output. I am a little jealous that I don't have the SOS function though. LOL

You always provide the important information that can’t be found anywhere else.
I just received the 2000 pro from jackery with the hobotech 10% discount.(230 thank yous!)
    I like everything about it.
    No power brick
    Folding handle
90 minute recharge (1500 watt input recharge wattage, not 1800 like the video said. Oops!)
    42pounds
    Ups feature
    Pass through charging
    Doesn’t have touch screen
Wired my panels with the adapter plug ,no problem
I will never need 1000 charge cycles so I’m good with lithium ion batteries for weight reduction
Your video pretty much sealed the deal.
    The discount surely did.
    Very happy

I went with a eb200 bluetti miller tech. It's the equivalent of the ac200p. I also got the bluetti pv350 panel. I thought I heard you say you would do a review of that panel. Did I miss it? Anyways it was you that led me to Bluetti over a Jackery and seeing your review on this latest product from Jackery assures me I made the right choice. This thing is a monster! I was getting 412 watts when I first used the panels on 2 days but since then only see 325ish on similar sunny days. Perhaps it was a calibration thing as the 400 plus watts have never been seen again. You're the best!

I don't understand people complaining about battery chemistry. Sure you lose that 20% faster, but people are setting their ecoflows to never actually use that extra 20% anyway. It may as well not even exist. I get that their more combustible but none of us are thinking twice about storing a lithium ion battery in our pants pocket all day every day or 1000 little lithium ion devices scattered around our homes. It's like using a chinese made smart phone to complain about things not being made in the U.S.

Many reviews of the 4Patriot solar charger say that for instance, it takes 2 days of full sunshine just to partially charge 1 smartphone and therefore it's no good off grid. Where is Jackery based? I love how the ad before the video started to play was for the Bluetti AC300. 🤣 Watched the Jackery Day launch (with Star Lord himself Chris Pratt), and I was not impressed; $2,300 for what is essentially a AC200P, but with a 100W USB-C PD, and is about twenty pounds lighter than the Bluetti. Going to stick with the Bluetti which is cheaper and heavier, and use the money saved to get some heavier dumbbells to pump up my arm strength. 💪

Thanks for your tests :-) I love your conclusion. This product is nice - real nice. But nothing more in today's Market. I would have bought this one in 2020 instead of the Explorer 1000 because of the extended Solar Charge Capacity. Having the opportunity to charge this one up in Camping very quckly is a big step forward. But for this you pay the price of more weight. I hope Jackery puts this BMC also to the 1000 because this is for me the sweat spot for Camping Electricity - I don't need more energy when I'm moving. And to be honest - for a Blackout Backup the Jackeries are nice but a Blutet AC200, P or Max with modular Batteries is far better in all Criteria - Weight don't madder so much to me for a Home Backup Solution.

I love Jackery but it always seems like they are trying to play catchup with the competitors. Nice product just a couple of years behind everyone else unfortunately. I have a Yeti Goal Zero 1500X with the Battery Bank Expansion Modul and I absolutely love it! I can throw it in the car and charge it from the Car Charge kit from the car alternator or throw it back into battery bank mode and use it for the houses power supply with a click of a button ( I have 2 200ah Renogy Lead Acids Batteries hooked up to it for extended power).

Gotta love Hobotech. As for Jackery and their alleged discount, just another classic example of what's wrong with this America. I'm not making a political statement. I'm making a statement about there is no truth in advertising, they can't even be honest about the roll out price. That pretty much is telling me all I needed to know. Much thanks for all your hard work on these video's and to your continued success!!!

I been Looking for the right Battery. But thank to You, I think I finally fond it! The Jackery Company better be Honest about there advertisement. Having to buy this type of Battery to power up your appliances must be very reliable and convenient. The Only thing I'm not buying is that fact that if you have your own solar pawer on your roof, having that many solar panel to store instead of using your own solar panel is very inconvenient. That, alone is a disadvantage for the consumer that doesn't have a lot of space in there Van. You have an A+ on this video. Thank you. :-) And by the way,...for the price there asking, they should include two Sola Panel.

Lithium NMC is a good choice for the high capacity portable power stations. A 150lb person has to be able to carry it easy no 1000 cycles is still a lot.

    • @SetitesTechAdventures
      @SetitesTechAdventures 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's good for capacity but they are charging more than all the LFP 1800-2200wh units which have 3-4x the cycle life.
I don't mind NMC, but I feel like they shouldn't charge so much for a battery that lasts a fraction of the time. Energy density is nice but in all the photos its a camp where you need to carry or wheel stuff in anyway so they are already too big.

I noticed that when you showed the sign wave on your meter that the very tops and bottoms of the sine wave were flat not rounded as they should be for a true pure sine wave. I do not know if this is a limitation of your sine wave meter or it is in fact accurate. If the meter is accurate then this is not a pure sine wave and that could be why you are getting a motorize sound when you did the speaker sound test. You might want to look into this closer.

    • @Bob_Adkins

That audio test is indicative of big problems if you're using this with ham radios. If it gives interference at audio frequencies the harmonics are likely to be much, much worse at radio frequencies. My bet is that this will be unusable on HF and possibly VHF/UHF. Try charging it on a GFCI outlet and see if it trips it.

This is really a shame, I hoped Jackery could do better - my choice therefore is the Bluetti AC200MAX, it has very low interferences, so I can power my whole ham radio equipment in my shack - there is also a big difference to the Jackery, because the Bluetti provides 30 Amp DC out, and this is a really important feature we need, especially when we are outdoor - I really like the Jackery products concerning the quality, but now Bluetti wins with it‘s specs in this class !

Good and balanced review, thanks Hobotech. I think you’re right; Lithium NMC isn’t the end of the world and is a good option is weight/size is of importance. But having LiFePo4 alternatives is a no brainier. I’ve recommended this to them numerous times. I can’t seem to understand why they haven’t given it a go.

    • @santiagodraco
      @santiagodraco 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Because they felt that a unit that was nearly half the size and significantly less weight was more important to some, which it was to me. Maybe a mistake long term but not everyone wants to cart around a 60lb behemoth. It's unfortunate so many people refuse to admit that is a valid reason to buy Jackery. It was for me (plus the clearly better quality components).
