Mate I live in a fking van that I can’t afford to drive anywhere because of the cost of diesel and the fker keep braking down I make no apologies for trying to better my life
Mel I love the vids don’t stop reviewing thing because a few people get jealous you get sent things.. we need reviews so we know what’s good and bad for real life situations but please don’t let that drive you to swear.

It wasn't so long ago Mel owned up to the 2 second hand lead acid batteries powering his system. A lot of time gets put into videos/TH-cam can't blame anyone for getting payment/items in lieu of their time spent.
Maybe an idea for a future video could be a basic/cheap electric setup that has worked for you Mel for those starting out and how and why you chose different upgrades? Either way keep up the good content.

Giving good reviews will no doubt attract other manufacturers to send free bees I suppose. I do like your vids though and I learn a lot from them, but as for products I would test them all out myself before I buy. Not having a go Mel it's your life and channel afterall, good luck to ya....

Bluetti AC 200 max is the best I’ve had and I’m using one in my van now for almost a year it has 12v 30amp socket perfect for camper

I just don't understand the current fad with power packs? 😑😢. All rubbish in my opinion😒 If anyone is just starting a build. Go victron or renogy lifepo4 300ah or 400ah and wire it all in the traditional way. You will be glad you did over time. Good honesty review of it anyway mel. 😉

G'Day Mel, Dont like the cig plugs they are dangerous. The game changer is the new 30amp DC plugs on the Bluetti Max they are starting to call them the RV plug in Australia and USA, just wire in straight to fuse box and it does everything in the van with 12volt including diesel heater and 12volt aircon, and i use the 240 volt plugs for the hotwater and induction cook hob only. Its made all the expensive components like shunts, busbar, mppt and those blue boxes and wiring plus you can takeout easy and put in your house dueing blackouts.... Might bump into you on the Western Australian GOLD fields with your lucky hover stick, Goodluck Mel

Good review. I'm sorry some don't seem to appreciate it but looks like there are a few of us in the corner that do. This was, IMO, a refreshingly honest and fair review. Being given these things is a reflection of the time and effort that goes into building a channel and a following and I don't begrudge that at all. Keep on keeping on!

The thing is, some people can't explain things in a clear and precise way, and I have difficulty following it all, so I think it's nice to have different reviews also, because some people will add a tiny bit of info which others may miss. When I am looking to buy something this expensive then I will watch ALL the reviews to get a good cross-section of their opinions. Just ignore the people who don't like it - I daresay they are just jealous 🙄
I hear Jackery is forcing reviewers to give a positive review when they send the reviewer a free product. Never gonna buy anything with the name Jackery on it. That's some straight up shitbaggery right there.
If you want to have the screen stay on you have to turn it on, when the screen is on double press the display button, it will stay on all off the time, and do the same to turn it of.
This is cool iv got the small jackery 240 its good need to get solar panel for it may get this one soon :)

Hi Mel, great video very well explained . I clicked on your link to Amazon and found two things straight away; the price is TWO THOUSAND POUNDS, gasp, and strangely it says it has an engine that is a four stroke. Two big surprises there!
It is quite expensive for the specifications that it has and it does not even charge fast.
Not having the ability to do decent battery to battery charging from the alternator is a big fail for all these types of units in van life.

I thought this was some cheapo chinese battery bank with a load of too thin wiring inside and a crap bms, 12v 10amp max, really ?

You need to put your van on the scale. I got pulled over and was 85kg over weight. Got a fine.kicked the wife out and emptied the water then they would have let me carry on. Next time I get caught they will seize the van.

Hi Mel is the deans connector that you used with the cable for alternator charging not also an out 12v as deans is rated higher than the cigarette socket.
That is the problem with Jackery power stations. They do cost a lot compared to the others.

If you use a Bestek 300 watt pure sine wave inverter into your van you can charge your 2000 from the inverter.

So the jackery 2000 would be a good unit for those of us who live in the sub tropics and dont require heaters.... all these power stations cost an arm and a leg in Australia. This one is $2099.
Melody: I am pretty sure the prices for these packs will come down, the more competition there is, and the more people buy them. If you want one then wait for a sale/special offer.

Hi Mel, Just a thought what if you had a 240v transformer plugged into the Jackery down to 12v to run the diesel heater and the 12v van I know it sounds counter intuitive . I know it's only the initial start up of the diesel that draws the power as we have an Adria SGX Camper van and the lights do flicker on the start up of the diesel heater. Saw one on Amazon £18 12v 10Amps is that enough?? Great content
